From Wizard Apprentice to Conqueror of Myriad Worlds
Chapter 210 - 5: Everything a Genius Stoops to Pick Up Is a TreasureChapter 210: Chapter 5: Everything a Genius Stoops to Pick Up Is a Treasure
But humans are a complex and contradictory species. Even the kindest of people cannot completely suppress their wicked thoughts.
So it was impossible to arbitrarily conclude that the Second Level Apprentice was rotten to the core.
Rock suppressed a grimace, forcibly shoving his immense envy into the deepest recesses of his heart.
In fact, he’d thought of another way to poach some of the credit: volunteer to join Mo Ning’s team and help him complete this brand-new athletic therapy project.
If the project succeeded, he’d at least get a piece of the pie.
But he couldn’t bring himself to voice the thought.
He was a respectable Second Level Apprentice with a fair bit of seniority at the academy. How could he willingly trail behind a rookie who’d only just arrived? Where would he hide his face?
If word of this got out, countless apprentices would laugh themselves sick.
Rock made up his mind. He would quietly observe and learn. He would follow the therapeutic path this young genius was blazing all on his own and look for the right opportunity to dig deeper.

「A quarter-hour later.」
The first round of warm-water therapy was complete.
The soothing Hydro Massage left the two War Rhinoceroses incredibly comfortable, and low, contented grunts rumbled in their throats.
Mo Ning immediately herded them into their private, two-hundred-square-meter-plus resting room to let them recover.
Given his standing with the two War Rhinoceroses, a single word was all it took to make them obey.
And with that, his duties as an assistant for the day were officially over.
The remaining work in the Taming Room would be handled by the two resident Tamers, so he didn’t need to concern himself with it.
But before leaving, there was one more task that had to be completed—writing the daily taming report.
According to the Taming Center’s rules, whether an Official Tamer or an assistant, everyone had to submit a daily taming log, recording in detail the Magical Beast’s condition and behavior for the day. The more complete the details, the better.
When Mo Ning had been on the job for half a month, he once happened to overhear the Second Level Apprentice, Rock, complaining in a low voice about Andy’s perfunctory attitude.
Rock’s exact words were: "I specifically pulled out Andy’s taming report from a month ago and compared it with that kid’s report from yesterday. At least half of the sentences are completely identical."
Some people cut corners on their reports, but Mo Ning never did.
In his writing, War Rhinoceros Kent’s days were always vividly detailed: any unusual behavior, what things piqued its curiosity, and the emotions and thoughts hidden within its every action.
The report was filled with meticulous observations and deep reflections on the War Rhinoceros’s behavioral logic.
Mo Ning figured there was a reason why Andy had been so mercilessly kicked out by Rock today. Before, when War Rhino Barce had been toying with Andy and making his life miserable, Rock, the Tamer, had simply turned a blind eye.
Perhaps Andy’s daily carelessness and neglect had long since sealed his fate.
「Five minutes later.」
Mo Ning’s writing flowed like water. He filled four sheets of scale pattern paper with dense script, finishing two taming records in one go.
He even wrote War Rhino Barce’s report as well, which was originally Andy’s job.
"Witch Spirit, submit taming reports."
Mo Ning called out.
The mechanical voice arrived as expected.
[Taming reports submitted! Thank you for your meticulous care of War Rhinoceros Kent and Barce.]
The two paper reports quickly disappeared, collected by the Witch Spirit.
Even though Mo Ning wrote two reports, which wasn’t in accordance with the rules, it didn’t ask a single extra question.
It was like a silent Tamer, patiently observing everyone in the academy.
In the past, Andy would leave immediately after finishing his report.
Mo Ning, however, was completely different.
He walked briskly to the door of Apprentice Vincent’s office and greeted him with a smile. "Mr. Vincent, is there anything else you need me to do?"
He never said, "I’m leaving." He only ever asked, "What do you need me to do?"
Vincent replied with a smile, "You did a great job today. There’s nothing else. See you tomorrow!"
Mo Ning replied, "See you tomorrow! I hope you have a great rest of your day!"
Vincent’s smile widened.
Then, Mo Ning moved to the office next door, arriving outside Rock’s office to greet him as well. "Mr. Rock, is there anything else I can help you with?"
Rock shook his head, then earnestly reminded him, "Don’t forget to bring your friend for the interview tomorrow."
The Apprentice even put on a show of complaining, "I can’t imagine how busy I’ll be tomorrow without an assistant to help out."
The sentence carried a clear implication: as long as his friend came, Rock would definitely not refuse them.
Mo Ning guaranteed without hesitation, "Of course! How could I forget something so important you’ve entrusted to me?"
He then offered a parting wish: "I hope you have a pleasant evening!"
Rock quietly watched the young man’s figure retreat into the distance and couldn’t help but sigh softly.
Another thought flashed through the Apprentice’s mind: ’Why can’t I ever find an outstanding assistant like Mo Ning?’
No one knew that the real reason Rock was willing to let Mo Ning recommend an assistant was precisely because of the line, "I hope you have a pleasant evening!"
He felt that, at the very least, an assistant recommended by Mo Ning would stand at the door before leaving each day and offer a polite farewell to "Mr. Rock."
And he wouldn’t feel slighted when he saw Vincent next door.
Many seemingly unusual decisions often stem from an insignificant detail.

「A short while later.」
Mo Ning stood at the exit and activated his assistant’s badge with his Spiritual Power.
Unlike when he entered the Taming Center, this time no passageway appeared.
He only felt as if an invisible hand had gently pushed his back, and he involuntarily took a step forward.
The moment his Sheepskin Boots landed, the whole world seemed to "refresh."
A wide stone-paved road stretched out before him, flanked by stone pillars topped with beast heads.
Beyond the pillars, the area was completely overrun by a dense jungle.
Mo Ning walked straight to the base of the leopard-headed beast pillar, tilting his head back slightly to gaze at the still-closed eyes of the beast head.
The analysis model immediately produced a result: this Stone Soul Beast was still mired at the bottom of a pit of negative emotions.
Mo Ning sighed to himself. He then smiled and said, "Balute, I’ll stop by after dinner. I’m going to put on a really spectacular show for you then."
The leopard head’s stone eyelids trembled imperceptibly.
Mo Ning instantly read its emotion—it had developed a sliver of interest.
In the more than two hundred years it had stood here, this was the first time anyone had promised to put on a show for it.
