Boar Don couldn’t believe his eyes. He took a heavy step back, his boots squeaking against the floor.

"What is happening?" Don asked in disbelief, clawing at his own skin as the fire bit into his flesh.

He could feel the extreme pain spreading rapidly across his face.

"Don, you’re on fire!" one of his men shouted, pointing a shaky finger at their leader.

Right before everyone’s eyes, the flames spread like wildfire, covering his entire body in a blinding wave of light.

Don screamed in agony until he couldn’t scream anymore, his arms flailing in the air as his throat burned away.

Within seconds, the intense heat vanished, and there was nothing left of him except a small pile of ashes on the floor.

"Ahhh!" Henry shouted in shock, pointing at the pile of dust with wide, terrified eyes. "The Hungry Demon has eaten him!"

"I think we should run before things get worse..." Peamah said, looking up at the wooden beams above them.

He didn’t wait. He grabbed his Sire’s hand, pulling hard, since that was his only reason for being in the room in the first place.

While everyone in the cult was still in complete shock, staring blankly at the burnt floor, Malo and the rest followed Faye and Peamah sprinting out of the room through the open double doors.

They didn’t know what had happened or where the strange blood had dropped from.

But their target had been eliminated.
