Lukas paid the gate fee and they walked into Azure Town.

"Why not?" Melody said, absentmindedly, still eyeing the design on one of the buildings along the street.

"Haven’t you been listening to what we’ve been saying since? Azure Town is a tourist spot, so that means everything is expensive here. What makes you think inns are the exception?"

"See that?" He pointed to the tall building in the middle of the town, which they could see from where they stood. "That’s the Century Heritage Hotel. It’s the most expensive place to stay in Azure Town."

"The cheapest room for a night is enough to buy you a car with some nice specs. That’s how high-class and expensive this place is. The top floor? The suite there is enough to buy an apartment and then some in a nice district back in Salaria."

"Even though the hotel is usually empty most of the time, even a single guest at the top floor for one night or two is enough to make the establishment run a profit."

"The guest would not only sleep, but eat the best food, drink the best wine, and have the best attendants."

He turned to look at them.

"If this one hotel is that expensive, how much do you think the cheapest place around here is?"

"Compared to the Ringed City, Azure Town isn’t that big. But trust me, this place takes in more cash in three months than the Ringed City sees in a single year."

"So, if there’s anything you learn from me, it’s not to stay in Azure Town if you want to save money."

The three of them nodded, not saying a word.

Lukas stared at the Century Heritage Hotel, wondering who owned it and how it would feel if the establishment belonged to him.

Even if he was in a new world, he couldn’t help but wonder how it would be to be stinkingly rich.

Even if he lied to everyone else, he couldn’t lie to himself. He might have all the power in the world, but what was the use of power if it wasn’t accompanied with money?

Karrakas cleared his throat, breaking them out of their trances.

"While I wouldn’t advise you to stay here," he said, "I still have to teach you what to do when you arrive at a new location on the Second Floor. The first thing you do is find an inn."

"As I’m sure you’ve seen from the information packet, we get a basic map of Azure Town, nothing that would jeopardize its security, and that tells us where the important things are. Like the Le Fay pavilion."

"You select one within your price range, which would either be a partner, or be owned by the Le Fay family, we don’t know which, and open a room."

"But as we won’t be doing that here, we have one option on our hands."
