The staircase ended at a pair of enormous stone doors.

Unlike the previous floors, there were no inscriptions explaining the trial.

No statues.

Just two massive doors standing silently before them.

Caelan stepped closer and examined the surface.

"There isn’t even a lock."

Orin placed his palm against one of the doors.

"Maybe we just push."

He leaned forward.

Seraphina smiled and walked toward the doors.

She raised her hand.

The moment her fingers touched the stone, a soft golden light spread across its surface.

Symbols appeared.

They looked more like veins.

Thin golden lines spread outward from beneath Seraphina’s palm, branching across the entire door.

"Something is responding to me."

Azrael approached.

"Genesis?"

They split into groups.

Lyanna stayed near the ruined buildings.

She walked through the broken structure until she reached the center.

The crystal floated several meters above the ground.

It was supposed to be bright gold.

Small golden flowers appeared across the stone floor.

They grew slowly.

The wolf changed direction.

"Strong!"

The creature dodged.

Azrael watched.

The corruption was wrapped around the creature’s natural life energy.

It wasn’t part of its original existence.

It had been attached to it.

"Left side."

Caelan immediately reacted.

His spear struck the wolf’s shoulder.

The creature stumbled.

Azrael moved.

Astraeus passed through the black cracks on its body.

Instead of cutting deeply, the blade released a thin wave of darkness.

The corruption vanished.

The wolf collapsed.

Its black cracks disappeared.

The red glow faded.

Then the wolf slowly lifted its head.

"You actually purified it."

"Most of the corruption was superficial."

Caelan looked toward the mountain.

"If there are more creatures like that..."

"There are."

They continued upward.

Back at the sanctuary, Seraphina was beginning to sweat.

But the damage was spreading faster than she could repair it.

She opened her eyes.

"That’s strange."

The western side of the valley was deteriorating.

She immediately moved there.

A large crack had appeared in the ground.

Golden roots were trying to spread across it, but something was preventing them.

Seraphina knelt beside the crack.

She placed her hand against the soil.

"What’s stopping you?"

She closed her eyes.

Her consciousness followed the life energy beneath the ground.

Then she felt it.

A pulse.

Something beneath the valley was absorbing life energy.

Seraphina stood.

"It’s underneath us."

She looked toward the ruined sanctuary.

"The core isn’t the problem."

She immediately sent a message through the System.

Seraphina: "There’s something beneath the sanctuary absorbing the valley’s life energy."

Azrael’s response came almost immediately.

Azrael: "Can you locate it?"

Seraphina: "Yes."

A pause.

Azrael: "We’ll come back."

Seraphina shook her head.

Seraphina: "No. Keep going."

Azrael: "Seraphina—"

Seraphina: "If the source is beneath us, I’ll deal with it."

There was another pause.

Then:

Azrael: "Be careful."

Seraphina smiled.

Seraphina: "You too."

The communication ended.

Seraphina looked down at the crack.

"I guess this floor isn’t going to let me heal things peacefully."

She stepped into the ruined sanctuary.

Golden light gathered around her.

Deep beneath the ground, she found a staircase.

It descended into darkness.

Seraphina followed it alone.

The deeper she went, the weaker the life energy became.

The walls were covered in roots.

But the roots were dead.

At the bottom was a circular chamber.

In the center floated a black stone.

Thin roots extended from it in every direction.

They were connected to the valley above.

Seraphina immediately understood.

"This thing is draining the sanctuary."

The black stone pulsed.

A wave of darkness spread through the chamber.

Seraphina raised her hand.

"Purification."

Golden light collided with the darkness.

The chamber shook.

The black stone cracked.

But it didn’t break.

Seraphina gritted her teeth.

"You’re stronger than I thought."

The stone released another wave.

She was thrown backward.

Her shoulder struck the wall.

She slowly stood.

"She’s doing it."

"Doing what?"

"Restoring the valley."

He turned back toward the mountain.

"Let’s finish our part."

Caelan nodded.

The three continued upward.

Deep underground, Seraphina finally separated the last corrupted root.

The black stone became completely isolated.

She raised her hand.

This time, her golden light wasn’t gentle.

It was concentrated.

Precise.

"Purification."

The stone shattered.

The darkness disappeared.

For several seconds, everything was silent.

Then life energy rushed through the chamber.

The dead roots began glowing.

Small green leaves appeared.

Seraphina smiled.

She had succeeded.

Grass covered the broken ground.

Even the damaged buildings seemed less lifeless.

Lyanna stood nearby, covered in dust.

"You did all this?"

Seraphina looked around.

"Not alone."

She smiled.

"Everyone contributed."

Lyanna nodded.

"Then we’d better keep going."

Seraphina looked toward the mountains.

A distant flash of light appeared.

Azrael and the others were still fighting.

She tightened her grip on her staff.

"Let’s help them."

The two headed toward the northern mountain together.

For the first time since entering the floor, the valley no longer felt like a place that needed to be saved.

It felt like a place that was beginning to live again.
