“Sure, sure,” John replied before asking. “So did the mayor also give you the forest sickness quest?”

“Yeah,” Mel nodded. “Frank gave me a quest to go meet the mayor and when I found out it was a unique story quest, I quickly let Sarah know. She then informed me that you were on the same quest and suggested teaming up.”

John nodded before saying, “Maybe it is connected to gaining the All Weapons Mastery then, and not my opportunity.”

“Seems that way,” Mel replied as she seemed to play with her interface for a moment before a notification window suddenly appeared before John.

John smiled before pressing Yes to both, which caused Mel’s smile to widen.

As the notifications appeared before him, he noticed that Dream Star's name, HP and MP appeared in the upper part of the left side of his vision.

“Congratulations, John, you're officially my first teammate in Genesis,” Mel declared.

“Likewise,” John replied before asking. “Did you get the rabbit fur and boar meat quest as well?”

“I got the boar meat one, but I had already completed the rabbit fur,” Mel replied as she pointed at her shoes, which only now did John realise were different to his own.

John smiled before making an inviting gesture while saying, “Cool, then how about we go hunt some boars on our way?”

“That almost sounds like you're inviting me out on a date,” Mel teased before the pair headed in the direction of where the sickness was obviously located.

“Yeah, right, I wonder how many women have accepted a date to hunt boars in the past,” John said with a laugh before thinking. {Status.}

“Fully recovered?” Mel asked with a smile after he finished eating and drinking.

“Yup,” John nodded before asking. “Is there any other way to recover health and mana other than eating, drinking and potions?”

Mel nodded before saying, “Obviously, you can eat and drink at a restaurant or pub in a town or city, but the best way is to rest at the inn for a night. That not only fully restores both but also gives you an experience buff.”

“An experience buff?” John repeated in surprise.

“Yup,” Mel nodded. “You gain a one-hour experience buff for spending eight hours at an inn. This is why many of the top players rest at inns before doing a dungeon run.”

After walking for a short while, they both suddenly heard the obvious sound of oinking pigs coming from close by and decided to move closer and investigate, which revealed a group of six boars that were shuffling around in the dirt, hunting for food.

"Inspect," John said quietly.

Mel scanned the information before suggesting, “Considering they're only level five, which is less than those four from before, I don’t see any point in coming up with a strategy and suggest that we just tank their hits while killing them.”

John nodded before saying, “Sounds good to me.” After which, both dashed out from behind the trees and headed for the six boars while firing arcane missiles.

“Damn, I only did thirteen damage,” John said in surprise.

“No real surprise,” Mel replied. “Monsters have their armour bonus, unlike players who don’t have any.”

“Right, Sarah explained that to me,” John replied as the pair arrived in front of the boars and spent the next few minutes bullying them until they died.

“Ugh, how can you just straight do that?” Mel asked with a look of disgust. “I normally have to psych myself up first.”

“One of my jobs in the past was working in a slaughterhouse, so I’m used to it,” John replied as he continued to cut into the boar quickly and efficiently.

“Oh shit,” John cursed in surprise.

“What?” Mel asked curiously.

“Well, real-life skills do cross over into Genesis, so that’s not surprising,” Mel replied.

“Really?” I had no idea,” John replied as he finished butchering the second boar.

John scoffed at her reaction before he continued to work through the other four boars.
