John stared at her for a few moments until the sound of her light laughter at his reaction snapped him out of his stupor, and he turned away, saying, “Sorry, wrong room.”
“Such a gentleman; I wish all men were more considerate like you,” The woman said with a smile before adding. “But you are wrong; this is the room the young lady assigned you.”
John turned back to the woman before asking, “What is it with women and barging into my rooms recently?”
The woman chuckled again before saying, “I figured many men would be happy when women did that.”
“I suppose it depends on the man,” John replied before asking. “So, miss. Can I ask who you are and why you're suddenly in my room?”
“Hmm, I have gone by many names, but I suppose my current one is Virgo.
“As in the constellation, like Ursa Minor?” John asked in surprise before glancing over her again and muttering, “Astraea.”
“Ohh!” The woman replied with clear surprise on her face this time. “How did you work that out?”
“I seem to be running into a lot of gods lately for some reason,” John began as he sat down on the edge of the bed. “The constellation Virgo is thought to be one of three goddesses, and neither of the other two would dress in such a demure manner.”
“I’m impressed; I can see why Ursa took a liking to you and blessed you,” Astraea replied before continuing. “But as to why I’m here. I’m here to reward you for not being overcome by your greed at the sight of quick strength.”
“You mean the old swindler from before; you were watching that?”
Astraea giggled before saying, “My dear Vincarna, all the gods are paying attention to you right now.”
“Oh joy,” John said sarcastically, getting another giggle from Astraea before he asked. “And may I ask why?”
“For the possibility of you becoming a Sheolarbiter,” Astraea replied. “You are unaware of what becoming a Sheolarbiter truly entails, but should you succeed and the kings of the underworld grant you that class, the entire world of Genesis will go through a change.”
“What kind of change?” John asked with a frown; however, Astraea didn’t reply and only smiled at him, causing him to sigh and ask, “Is this that whole not interfering with another god's jurisdiction thing?”
“Very good,” Astraea replied. “I am only able to appear before you because, should you succeed, then you will not only have a connection with the gods of death, but also the gods of another faction that I am part of.”
“And this reward you mentioned?” John asked.
“You did not fall to temptation and greed to gain quick strength that would inevitably come with a downside; instead, you have shown yourself to be a hard worker and one who is willing to earn said strength. Because of this, I will reward you by awakening your mantle's next skill.”
“Isn’t that contradicting yourself?” John asked with a frown, causing Astraea to burst into joyous laughter. So joyous was her laughter that she even lost control for a moment, causing her laughter to spread all around the Waning City.
People of all different races turned and looked in the direction of the inn as they heard the laughter before it suddenly vanished.
“Oh dear, oh my, it has been a long time since someone made me laugh in such a way that I lost control of my power,” Astraea stated as she wiped a tear from her eye.
“That's a shame,” John replied.

“What is?” Astraea asked quizzically.
“That you don’t laugh like that more often, since it’s a beautiful sound,” John replied, making Astraea’s cheeks turn slightly red. {Though perhaps her laughter only sounds that nice because she's a goddess.}
“While I appreciate a compliment as much as the next woman, I would remind you that I am a virgin goddess,” Astraea teased before continuing. “Anyway, you may be right in that awakening your mantle's skill is self-contradictory. However, there is a very good reason for that. First off, my awakening of your skill wont harm your mantle in any way because your skill will be limited to only one use until you upgrade your mantle.
And secondly, the old swindler wasn’t wrong when he said you're no match for what you're about to face once you find Elrinira and because of this, you will need something to help even things out.
John frowned before asking, “Was he also lying about what he told regarding living armour?”
{So instead of getting excited or asking more about his reward, he chose first to focus on what he had been told regarding his living armour. You’ve found a good one, Ursa.} Astraea thought before saying, “He was not; everything he told you about your living armour was true, after all; a good lie contains a speck of truth.”
After she finished speaking, Astraea waved her hand, causing a piece of starlight to detach from the bodice area of her dress, which seemed to surprise Astraea before it shot into John’s forehead.
[Notice: Phanta (Unknown Mantle) has had its next skill awakened by the Goddess Astraea.]
[Awakened Skill:]
[Selene’s Balance: Using the powers the underworld demigod Selene left in Phanta, you can once a week change the level of one enemy at Champion rank or below to match your own. (Target's stats and gear will readjust to match their new level.)]
[Time Element]
[Instant Cast]
[No Cost]
[Cooldown: 1 Week]
[Notice: Experience gained from defeating the enemy is calculated as if they are your level; you also will not be able to loot the enemy should you defeat them.]
[Selene is believed to have been the first-ever Sheolarbiter as well as being the demigod daughter of Hel.]
[Notice: Because of the skill's early awakening, you can only use it once before fully upgrading Phanta (Unknown Mantle).]
“And with that, my task here is done, and I must depart before the other gods start getting jealous,” Astraea said with a smile just before a rumble of thunder sounded in the clear night sky, making Astraea sigh.
“Thank you for your assistance, Goddess Astraea; I greatly appreciate it,” John replied as he stood up and gave her a polite bow.
Astraea’s smile returned as she said, “I do hope you succeed in becoming a Sheolarbiter so that we can meet again in the future.” And just as she finished speaking, she turned into starlight and flew through the closed window, vanishing into the night sky.
John watched her disappear before thinking, {Alright, let’s give this a try.} "Guidance."
[Guidance spell has been activated. Please sit cross-legged and close your eyes before thinking about the answers you seek.]

[Guidance spell has been activated. Please sit cross-legged and close your eyes before thinking about the answers you seek.]
John read the information before sitting on the bed in the cross-legged position while closing his eyes and thinking about how he had to find Elrinira. However, even after several minutes, nothing happened, and so John opened his eyes with a sigh.
{I’m obviously going about this wrong. Is it because I’m thinking about Elrinira? But then again, who exactly is Elrinira? I know she’s the Succubi Queen and King of the Underworld, but other than that, I know nothing about her.}
As he was lost in thought, he suddenly received a message. He originally figured it was Sarah getting back to him, but it actually turned out to be Rebecca.
[Madam Death: Hey kiddo, I’m just messaging you to remind you about coming in for your check-up tomorrow. Sarah is apparently busy all day, so I’ll send a car and then collect you from the palace entrance.]
[Vincarna: Sounds good.]
[Madam Death: How goes the unique quest?]
{Huh, I guess she doesn’t know I completed it. I thought she would have figured it out after seeing Mel’s global announcement, but maybe she doesn’t know who Dream Star is.}
[Vincarna: I completed it and just arrived in Waning City.]
[Madam Death: Oh, good job, kiddo. Come see me at the necromancer guild when you turn level ten so I can help you with your class change.]
[Vincarna: About that, I’m not sure I’ll be allowed to become a necromancer.]
[Madam Death: What, why? It’s not like you're a different race, though I guess that doesn’t matter after the recent global announcement. I wonder who that Dream Star player is and what class they got?]
[Vincarna: Actually, I’ve got another unique quest that may lead to a new class.]
[Madam Death: Seriously? Show me, show me.]
[Vincarna: Only if you promise to keep it a secret.]
[Madam Death: Of course, my lips are sealed; you can even seal them personally with your own lips if you want. Hehe.]
{This woman.} John sighed before sending her the quest information for finding Elrinira.
[Madam Death: WWWHHHHAAAATTTTT! You have a quest to find Elrinira?]
