“Elrinira, you're back. Where the blazes have you been?” Ereshkigal asked in annoyance, while Hel smirked and said. “Well, well, it seems the human actually did it. He brought her back.”
“Along with a new friend,” Lucifer remarked as he studied Ninth Wonder of the World, causing her to blush before he turned to John with a smirk and said. “I had no idea that the underworld was a hit dating spot; perhaps I should bring some of the lovelies I attracted for a tour around my castle.”
King Yama rolled his eyes before saying, “You tried that once two millennia ago; remember, it didn’t go well.”
“Oh yeah,” Lucifer replied, looking completely unbothered by the remark.
“Enough!” Hades stated before looking at John and asking. “Boy, where did you find her?”
“I can speak for myself, Hades,” Elrinira retorted before adding with a beautiful smile. “But if you must know, Vincarna here just won my heart, and now we are married.”
“Wow, kid, way to go,” Lucifer teased while the other gods rolled their eyes in obvious disbelief, as Osiris stated. “Out with it, Elrinira; why were you skirting your duties?”
“If you must know, a human filth summoned my sister and then corrupted her in some way to try and make me go to be with him…” Elrinira replied before explaining most of what happened.
“Corrupted your sister and gave her a second personality?” Hel asked in surprise. “Does the second personality still exist within her?”
“Unknown. I haven’t had the time to go check since I came here as soon as I returned,” Elrinira answered before looking back at John and saying. “We do have an important decision to make after all.”

“As am I,” Lucifer nodded, causing Hel to roll her eyes and say. “No surprise there; he helped one of you save your sister, and the other one just wants for more entertainment.”
“And what's wrong with that?” Lucifer asked. “Don’t we gods always want more entertainment in our lives? After all, immortality can be so boring.”
“Also, what is wrong with him helping me save my sister? Isn’t it a Sheolarbiter’s role to aid us, the seven gods of the underworld?” Elrinira asked, causing Osiris to sigh and say, “You know that’s not our title, Elrinira.”
“I approve of Elrinira’s choice of new title for us; I believe the Seven Gods of the Underworld sounds far better,” Hell stated in agreement.
“While I technically agree, it’s still using the word Gods, which isn't much different from Kings,” Ereshkigal noated make the other two female gods nod in agreement before Elrinira added. “I guess this still needs more thought.”
“Can we please focus?” King Yamma asked with a sigh before looking down at John and asking. “Vincarna, what say you on becoming a Sheolarbiter?”
“Sorry, but what exactly is a Sheolarbiter? No one has told me, and Ursa Minor wouldn’t say since it was not his sphere of influence,” John replied.
“And rightly he shouldn’t; the underworld is not his domain; it is ours,” Hades replied, causing Elrinira to roll her eyes and say to John. Ignore Hades; he’s always got a stick up his ass.”
“Excuse me?” Hades retorted.
“Do you think maybe Persephone put it there as part of some strange sex game they're playing?” Hel asked.
“Maybe. I do hear that women in the realm of the living have these toys they use on themselves that even vibrate,” Ereshkigal added, causing Hades to grow even angrier while Lucifer tried his best not to laugh.
Osiris and King Yamma just sighed as if this wasn’t a new occurrence, while John and Ninth Wonder of the World tried to understand why the gods had started talking about dildos all of a sudden.
Elrinira smiled in amusement at the chaos she had caused before looking down on John again and saying, “Allow me to explain what a Sheolarbiter does, Vincarna. For all intents and purposes, they are the guardians of the doors of death.”
“I thought the doors of death already had guardians,” John replied in confusion.
“On this side of the gates, yes; however, what about in the realm of the living?” Elrinira asked. “Sheolarbiter’s are one of the few existences allowed to travel freely between the realm of the living and the underworld. Their main role is to track down souls of the dead who have refused to move on to the afterlife or enter the cycle of reincarnation, as well as hunting down those who have escaped.”
“Such as what you did with Elrinira here,” Lucifer teased.
“Wait, others escape from the underworld?” John asked in surprise. “I can understand Elrinira since you're a goddess, but others as well?”
“There are always cracks opening and closing between the two realms, and sometimes wandering souls happen to slip through,” Elrinira explained. “Of course there are also times when those watching the gates on this side get lazy and a more powerful being passes through, but those are rare.
Other than that, you may occasionally receive requests from the seven of us or other members of the underworld that we can’t or are simply not allowed to do.”
“Or if it’s beneath us,” Hades added, to which Elrinira rolled her eyes and said. “Or that too. Should you perform your duties well, your Sheolarbiter rank may increase, giving you more freedom and authority here in the underworld. Though more will be explained to you as you rise in the ranks af the Sheolarbiter.”
“If he can rise in the ranks,” Ereshkigal remarked, causing Elrinira to frown, though she chose not to respond and instead asked. “So what say you, Vincarna? Will you join the ranks of the Sheolarbiter, serve us, the seven rulers of the underworld…”
“Better,” Hel noted as Elrinira continued, “and work to keep the balance of life and death in order so that chaos does not envelop us all.”
