“Well, because I’ve been to the underworld… twice, and I’m also the one who received the unique class,” John replied, causing Rebecca to stumble and Kaela to fall right over as they heard his response.
Rebecca braced herself against the wall to keep standing while turning to John and asking, “Say what?”
“You’ve been to the underworld?” Kaela asked in amazement as she lay spread-eagled on the floor, looking up at him, and added, “Cool.”
John sighed before saying, “If I tell you everything, you're only going to report it to the empress, who will no doubt then come and interrogate me herself, so why not just have her meet us in the medical bay so I can tell you all at the same time?”
“While that does make sense, that means I have to wait to hear it,” Rebecca pouted while quickly sending a message on her access band. Kaela, meanwhile, sat up and stared at John while saying. “Boo, I want to hear it now.”
John just smiled at the pair of them and kept heading towards the medical bay since he already knew the way by now. After a couple of minutes, they arrived inside, and John handed over the Mk Zero.
Rebecca took the MK Zero and had barely placed it on the scanner when the door opened, and Empress Alexia Bristle quickly walked inside, followed by her maid and personal assistant, Maria.
“Welcome back, John,” Alexia said with a smile as Maria bowed politely. “Rebecca just informed me that you're the holder of this new unique class and that you even have information on the upcoming update?”
“Yes, and a little bit,” John replied before he began to explain his new Warden class and what he knew about the underworld. The whole thing took merely a few minutes, and all the women stayed quiet while listening. It was only after he finished that Rebecca stated, “It sounds like this Warden class has the ability to operate solo if needed, thanks to its stance mechanic.”
“Wow, John, you're so cool. I can totally understand why Tia picked you to be this Warden class,” Kaela said excitedly, to which John smiled and said. “Thanks, Kaela.”
“Hehe,” Kaela laughed while Maria asked, “Aren't there other classes that can fill multiple roles, like the druid and shaman?”
“They can; however, druids seem to be designed more for cooperating with others rather than going solo, and shamans aren’t really good at main tanking, only off-tanking,” Rebecca explained before continuing. “Then there's the fact that John’s Warden class can learn almost every spell in Genesis, excluding the class-exclusive ones.”
{While I’m forced to tell them about my class, I’m not forced to tell them everything since Ninth Wonder of the World didn’t see my notifications. I don’t trust them enough yet to reveal all my secrets.} John thought before Alexia asked. “What do you think this Welcome to the Underworld could relate to?”
“Difficult to say until Tia releases the information on the official site,” Rebecca replied before adding. “I suppose it could be a new region of Genesis for us to explore.”
“I don’t think so,” John replied. “The first time I went there with Dream Star, she was constantly getting hit for environmental damage; I was only safe because of this item I had on me. I don’t see how it could be a new area to explore if players constantly take damage just from the environment.”
“That’s true.” Rebecca nodded as John thought for a moment before saying, “There is another possibility.”
“What?” Alexia asked.
“Perhaps this new content changes the way death works in Genesis,” John explained. “Currently, when someone dies there locked out of the game for twelve hours once they leave the starter village. However, it was explained to me that part of a Sheolarbiter’s job, and now my Wardens', is to guard the gates to the underworld and return escaped souls of those that refuse to pass on. What if Welcome to the Underworld means that players now travel to the underworld upon death?”

The women were silent for a moment as they thought about the idea before Maria said, “That would certainly change the game for many, but what would be the point? Is Tia going to remove it with the lockout?”
“Unlikely,” Alexia replied. “The lockout is a form of punishment and also an incentive for those who die. It incentivises players to try harder and play more carefully; if she did away with the lockout, then she would do away with that incentive.”
“Perhaps there is a way to reduce your lockout time in the underworld,” Rebecca suggested, to which Alexia nodded before adding. “That would make more sense, but why only implement this now?”
“There’s no point in asking that, Alexia,” Kaela replied. “Your mother asked the same question when Chieftess Shufharz first unlocked the race-exclusive classes, and we never found an answer to that question.”
“I suppose you're right, since the race-exclusive classes aren’t an event exclusive anymore,” Alexia said with a sigh.
“The best thing we can do is wait until Tia releases the information,” Maria advised. “Even if we did know all the details, we couldn’t act on them to gain an advantage anyway.”
“Then what about John’s unique class?” Rebecca asked. “Does that mean there are more out there?”
“Most likely. I highly doubt there is only one,” Alexia nodded before adding. “Though it seems John’s was the result of the opportunity he received from Tia. So the question is really if players need an opportunity to find a unique class or if anyone can find them.”
“If this is anything like the race-exclusive classes after Chieftess Shufharz first unlocked the warlock class, then it will be available to everyone,” Maria replied.
The group was silent for a few moments before the scanner suddenly beeped to indicate that it had finished. Rebecca checked the results before saying, “So the durability has increased once again, and according to Tia, your sync rate is now at ninety-three point zero one one.”
“So it’s still increasing?” Kaela asked in amazement.
“It seems so,” Rebecca said with a smile while John wore a thoughtful expression before asking. “Could that be why all the NPCs keep mentioning how my magic power is too strong for a human?”
“What do you mean?” Alexia asked.
“Well, first it was in Sajiko in the starter village, and just recently it was Elrinia,” John replied. “She said that my magic power is far too thick for a human, and it's on the same level as Princess Alea Keagwyn.”
“Really?” Rebecca asked in surprise before falling into thought while Kaela jumped around in her picture and cheered. “I knew you were amazing, John.”
“Rebecca?” Alexia asked since this wasn’t her area of expertise, even though she herself could use magic.
Finally, Rebecca said, “I can think of two possibilities. “First is that the MK Zero’s ever-increasing sync rate is causing the NPC’s to believe that your magic powers are far stronger than they actually are. The second, on the other hand, is that you do indeed have magic powers on par with Princess Alea Keagwyn, but that is hard to believe since only the Dragons can compete with the elves; even the Kitsune are slightly weaker.
Unfortunately, we won’t know for sure until we can test you actually magical capability; unfortunately, it’s still too soon for that.”
“Understood,” John nodded before adding. “I have a few other questions I would like answered, if possible.”
“Isn’t this normally Sarah’s job for when you're alone in your apartment together?” Rebecca teased.
John rolled his eyes before saying, “I’ve already spoken to her about how she just liked to barge in.”
“Leaving a young beauty out on the streets, how heartless you are,” Rebecca replied while pretending to wipe away nonexistent tears.
Alexia, on the other hand, placed a hand on John’s shoulder before saying in a sombre tone, “I leave Sarah in your capable hands.” John looked at her in surprise, or at least until he saw Maria sighing and giving him a sorry-about-her look.
John sighed before asking, “Seriously though? Why doesn’t Genesis have a private team speak function like in games you see the younger kids playing?”
“Realism,” Alexia replied. She took back her hand and resumed her professional demeanour after seeing that her little prank had failed. “While Genesis does have the call function that allows you to speak with your friends, it only works when the person you're talking to is over fifty feet away. It seems Tia didn’t like the idea of people being able to have team talks in private while surrounded by people since it took away the realism of Genesis. I do have to say that it makes boss battles a lot harder when the boss can possibly overhear and understand your team's strategies.”
“I noticed when Dream Star and I fought that crazy corrupted guy back in the starter village,” John nodded. “A private team conversation to plan out a strategy would have been great back then.”
