Several hours later, John was back in his apartment and feeling bored, which was a first for him. He seriously couldn't remember the last time he had felt bored. Before moving to Eclipse City, his life had been nonstop with either work or school, and after moving here, he had constantly been diving into Genesis. Now that he had some actual free time, he had no idea what to do with himself.
“Ugh, I’m so bored. Should I get myself a job? Hell no, I meant it when I told those gods that I don’t want to work under someone ever again,” John complained. “I really should get a car at some point; at least then I could go for a drive somewhere. I should have asked Rebecca about it.”
John groaned and looked towards the kitchen before suddenly deciding that now that he had credits, he should go out to eat and treat himself. {What do I fancy, though? Talking about that Kitsune Princess has kind of gotten me in the mood for Kitsune Cuisine.}
After deciding what he wanted, he used his access band to search for the best kitsune restaurants in Eclipse City and found one that wasn’t all that far from his apartment.
{Hmm, it does seem to have a dress code, but that shouldn’t be an issue now.} John thought happily before he went to take a quick shower and throw on a new plain white shirt, black jeans and trainers. Finally, he grabbed one of the new jackets that he really liked the design of and headed for the express elevator.

The restaurant in question was a short walk along the riverside, and it took John barely ten minutes to reach the place while thinking, {I haven’t had Kitsune cuisine in ages, not since that small fast-food booth near my apartment shut down. Damn there egg-fried rice was amazing.}
The pathway leading up to the restaurant's main entrance was lined with eight toki gates, signifying its top-quality status, with a sign attached to the last gate saying, Nine Tailed Abundance. Upon entering the restaurant itself which was lined with high quality wooden panels decorated with red and gold drapes, two attractive kitsune women, one with four tails and the other with five, both of whom were wearing beautiful yukatas, welcomed him inside with a slight bow, and as he thanked them with a smile, both women couldn’t help but blush slightly and take second glances at him.
John approached the reception counter where an elderly kitsune male waited before saying in the Kitsune language of Kit, “Welcome.”
“Thank you, a table for one, please,” John replied in perfect Kit, causing the male kitsune and the two women near the entrance to show surprised expressions.
“Of course. Do you have a reservation, sir?”
“Did I need to make one?” John asked with a frown since the website said nothing about needing a reservation.
“Normally, no, but we have several high-profile guests tonight, and for security reasons, we were asked to only accept reservations to give us a chance to screen them and do background checks,” The male kitsune explained in an apologetic tone.
John was about to reply when laughter came from behind as a group of four youths, two guys and two girls, all of whom appeared to be in their late teens to early twenties, entered. One of the guys pushed in front of John, making him frown and addressed the elderly kitsune, “Taro old man, is our table prepared?”
“It is, sir, but please wait a moment while I deal with the guest ahead of you,” Taro politely replied.
“Oh, my bad, sorry there, chum, I didn’t see you,” The young man said while his friend laughed. The two girls accompanying him, however, were giving John looks of interest, something the toy boys quickly saw and caused them to frown in displeasure.

Taro turned back to John before adding apologetically, “As I was saying, sir, I’m afraid tonight is for reservations only, so perhaps I could invite you to try another night?”
“I guess that’s all I can do,” John replied with a sigh before he turned to leave.
“Wait, did you hear that?” One of the young men said in mockery. “The fool didn’t even bother to make a reservation; does he not even understand who is dining here tonight?”
After hearing this, the women seemed to lose interest in John while saying, “How shameful, I would be so embarrassed if I were in his shoes. He might be fairly handsome, but he’s obviously lacking in the brains department.”
“Why are there always spoiled rich kids?” John complained in Kitsune before saying to Taro. “You have my sympathies; I will call again.”
After saying so, John turned and made for the exit while Taro gave him a grateful smile, which, for some reason, annoyed one of the guys who moved in front of John and asked, “What did you say?”
“Hmm?” John replied while scanning the four before asking, “I thought you all had high-quality educations, but if you can’t even understand simple Kit, I guess I was mistaken.”
“What was that?” The young man asked as his temper flared, before one of the women pulled him back while saying. “Enough, Carlos, don’t cause any trouble here.”
“But he insulted us,” Carlos said angrily, causing the women to sigh and say. “They were only words, but if they really bother you that much, deal with him some other time; we’re here to have a good time.”
Carlos nodded and was about to reply when another voice, one John recognised, suddenly said, “What’s this? Are you actually advising your friend to deal with another citizen, Stephenie Sauders?”
Everyone turned towards the entrance to see four stunning women entering together, four of whom John recognised. In the lead was Princess Adria Bristle, who was walking beside a woman with white-pink hair and enormous cleavage. Behind them were Sarah Lapis, who was in discussion with the nine-tailed kitsune John had met the other day and now knew was Princess Shizu.
Everyone immediately went on tenterhooks as the four women entered, and while the kitsune staff all bowed respectfully to Princess Shizu, Stephenie Sauders and her female companion were showing looks of concern as they stared back at Adria, who had just spoken. Last of all were Carlos and his friend, whose eyes were rapidly flicking from one beauty to the next.
“Of course not, Princess Adria; I merely used a poor choice of words,” Stephenie Sauders quickly explained.
“I see,” Adria replied before turning to the young man who Carlos had moments before been standing in front of, and upon recognising who it was, she couldn’t help but smile and say, “Well, if it isn’t John, I had no idea you where dinning hear tonight.”
Upon hearing the name John, the eyes of the other three women rapidly locked onto John’s handsome visage, who was dressed in casual clothing.
John smiled before saying in greeting, “Adria, Sarah, Princess Shizu.” However, as he reached the woman with white-pink hair, he merely offered her a slight nod of the head before turning back to Adria and saying. “I had a fancy for Kitsune food, but unfortunately I was unaware of needing a reservation because of tonight's clientele.”
“I’m afraid that would be my fault,” Princess Shizu replied. “It is customary for such security measures to take place among any kitsune establishments the imperial family wishes to dine at; you have my apologies.”
John smiled in return before saying, “You have no reason to apologise, Princess Shizu; no doubt your safety is of paramount importance to your citizens, and as such, precautions are necessary.”
Princess Shizu smiled gratefully while everyone besides Sarah and the white-pink-haired women showed looks of surprise as she said, “It seems you have one-upped me, good sir. You are aware of my identity, but I do not know yours. Did you perchance know it at our first meeting?”
“I did not; I only came to learn of it during discussions with Empress Alexia,” John replied, causing the group of four youths to frown slightly as they heard him mention Empress Alexia.
“I see, then are you ready to tell me yours?” Princess Shizu asked in a slightly playful tone that surprised the other kitsune, many of whom had emerged from deeper in the restaurant to greet their princess.
“I beg your forgiveness, Princess, but I would rather not reveal my name in front of these four, especially since two of them basically just threatened to harm me. If you do still wish to learn my name, however, feel free to ask Adria or Sarah,” John replied.
“I see,” Princess Shizu replied as she looked coldly at the four youths, causing them to break out in a sweat.
Well, the ladies,” John said as he switched back to human. “I won’t keep you any longer.”
As he began to head towards the entrance again, the white-pink-haired woman said, “Wait a moment, wont you join us?”
