Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System
Chapter 339: Atom’s Day and the Rep StoreAtom stood in the courtyard the next morning... It remained standing there without moving since there weren’t any threats or orders given prior.
Nonetheless, its black armor was now polished from the previous night’s cleaning.
The Rank S Sentinel did not move, did not speak, but its eyes scanned the surroundings constantly, recording every detail.
Just like a normal day, the shelter was filled with activity.
Survivors moved around as they were all trying to rebuild this shelter...
This time, everyone woke up quite early as they were all filled with energy from Golden Bull broth...
Atom’s sensors picked up laughter, footsteps, and the clatter of pots from the kitchen.
Its processors cataloged voices, tones, and words, though it never responded to them...
Near the mess hall, two riflemen whispered.
"Did you hear? Mila’s crew is cooking the tongue today."
"Only a few people can taste it. Do you think you’ll get one?"
"I want to have taste for sure. I heard it was chewy, but they say it boosts energy. I’ll take a bowl if they let me."
Atom stored the data...
[ Bull Tongue - classified as an edible resource for humans ]
Further down the path, three Survivors carried crates of horns, being transported to another tent.
One nudged the other as they passed through.
"Bet Claire’s ranking will shoot up... If I’m not mistaken, she might maintain her Top 10 rankings."
"Yeah, but Wallace says she’s only working hard because she’s trying to impress Kai."
"Ha! Everyone’s trying to impress Kai. But I heard Claire has a boyfriend or maybe a husband before the Apocalypse."
"Is that so? I guess rumors are just rumors."
Atom also took note of this information since Kai was basically its master.
[ Rumor detected. Claire has a crush on Kai. Probability uncertain. No conflict with the Three Laws. ]
Near the armory, Ralph’s Team A polished their rifles... Atom could hear the metallic clicks as they did their job...
Soon, Atom’s optics zoomed in, recording their conversation.
"I swear, Renji’s staying just for the meat," one rifleman muttered, wiping down his barrel. "Cameron City can wait, he said. But I think he’s staying because of Aurora."
"Hahaha!"
Another laughed, shaking his head. "Aurora? She’s too busy with her ledger to notice him. She probably dreams about crop rotations, not romance."
Atom stored the exchange.
[ Rumor detected: Renji has a crush on Aurora. Aurora unaware. ]
The Sentinel’s processors flagged the conversation as non‑combat relevant.
"You saw the way Renji looked at her yesterday, right? When she handed out those crops? He smiled like a kid getting candy."
"Yeah, but Aurora didn’t even blink. She just said, ’Don’t drop them.’ Cold as steel."
Atom stored the data.
[ Rumor reinforced: Renji like Aurora. Aurora response: neutral. ]
By midday, whispers spread further. Near the mess hall, a cook stirred broth while chatting with a medic.
"Renji’s clever, but Aurora’s out of his league. She’s Kai’s right hand in provisions."
The medic shrugged. "Doesn’t matter. Crushes keep people human. Even in war."
Atom logged the sentiment.
[ Observation: Crushes increase morale. Probability of Aurora reciprocating: low. ]
Unfortunately, even the Super Soldiers heard of the rumors.
"Renji likes Aurora... I saw him staring at her hair."
"He just wants food. Don’t be silly."
"Did you notice how Renji volunteered for every farming task Aurora organizes?"
"Yeah, but maybe he just wants to get compensated... Don’t confuse hunger with romance."
"Not really. I heard during their practice, Renji smiled when Aurora scolded him about wasting ammo. Who smiles when they’re being scolded?"
"Someone who’s desperate for attention. He’s hopeless."
As the conversation continued, Atom stored the contradiction.
[ Rumor variance detected: Crush vs. hunger motivation. ]
That evening, Renji passed by the courtyard, carrying tools...
It was all seen by Atom.
The Sentinel saw Aurora walk past with her ledger, barely glancing at the man.
Atom’s sensors caught Renji’s micro‑expression... a faint smile that was quickly hidden.
Survivors nearby nudged each other.
"See that? He’s trying to talk to her."
"She didn’t even notice."
Atom stored the moment.
[ Interaction logged: Renji attempts engagement. Aurora unaware. ]

A couple more days later, the Sentinel was moved...
It was because of the construction going on, and so, it was positioned close to the Field Tent of the kitchen...
This time, Atom heard Mila giving instructions.
"Cut the meat evenly! Don’t waste the broth bones!"
This time, they were actually making chicken soup!
Steam rose from pots, filling the air with savory scents.
Soon, Atom saw survivors line up, bowls in hand with anticipation written on their faces.
Atom recorded the chemical composition of the broth: high protein, trace minerals, faint spiritual energy.
[ Chicken bone and meat... confirmed nutritional enhancement. ]
Nearby, two Support Unit drivers argued.
"I’m telling you, eating the bull’s balls gives stamina at night. I heard Wallace got one if them. Since it’s huge, they sliced it up so 15 other people can enjoy it."
"No wonder... But it sounds disgusting."
"Not disgusting... practical. You’ll thank me later."
Of course, Atom stored the information as well.
[ Rumor detected: bull testicles linked to stamina. ]
Just like that, the day unfolded with small events and Atom observed them all.
At the training yard, Castor sparred with another Super Soldier...
Their heavy swords clashed, and thanks to its new position, Atom was able to observe it better.
Atom calculated their strike velocity, muscle strain, and probability of injury.
Although not all the information was obtained, it was still quite useful when it had to fight against humans who had also received strengthening modifications like these Super Soldiers.
Meanwhile, at the medical tent, Irene distributed stimulants.
"Only if you’re exhausted," she warned.
One soldier pocketed two extra.
Atom noted the breach.
[ Resource misuse detected. No direct conflict with Three Laws. ]

Soon, as the patrol guards were about to have their lunch, they ordered Atom to guard the front gate.
Althea nodded in satisfaction after seeing the Sentinel move.
It was a simple job, but with Atom guarding the gate, everyone could feel relaxed.
Near the gates, however, Wallace began inspecting some traps.
"Scouts say the A.I. Army is quiet. Too quiet. They might see through the illusion. We can’t be too complacent." Wallace softly said as if he were reminding himself instead of teaching others.
Later, Atom’s sensors picked up softer voices.
Apparently, Mei and Sera sat by the fire, whispering.
"Do you think Kai will return to the shelter soon?" Mei asked.
Sera shrugged. "Not until he’s sure that the branch in Cameron City is doing well. He carries too much on his shoulders."
Atom processed the words.
Soon, Atom continued listening as it realized just how important Kai was in this shelter. Now that he wasn’t here, there were many Survivors who couldn’t help but feel concerned or worried about their current situation.
"Still... Claire’s illusion device was incredible. It came right on time."
"That’s true... I wonder why my reputation store doesn’t have anything useful?" Mei muttered as she recalled her store...
Without hesitation, she checked it once again. After all, there should be a new item rotation now!
[ Reputation Store Accessed ]
[ Current Reputation Points: 52 ]
[ Store Inventory – Weekly Rotation ]
[ Rust‑Proof Oil ] [ 10/10 ]
[ Cost: 2 RP ]
[ Effect: A small vial of oil that prevents rusting on metal surfaces for 24 hours. Useful for maintaining weapons, tools, or cookware, but requires frequent reapplication. ]
"Two RP for oil? Hah. I could just boil animal fat and smear it on my rifle. Still... I guess it’s cleaner. Maybe worth it if you’re lazy."
[ Glow Pebble ] [ 5/5 ]
[ Cost: 3 RP ]
[ Effect: A smooth stone that emits faint light when held. Bright enough to read by, but too weak to illuminate a battlefield. Popular among children and night watch guards. ]
[ Scent Neutralizer Powder ] [ 4/4 ]
[ Cost: 4 RP ]
[ Effect: When sprinkled on clothing or gear, it masks human scent for 6 hours. Effective against animals with sharp noses, but useless against mechanical units. ]
"Four points to smell invisible. It’s useful if we’re hunting deer, but useless if we’re fighting drones. I guarantee someone will buy it just to sneak past the kitchen and steal extra soup."
[ Weather‑Resistant Cloak ] [ 2/2 ]
[ Cost: 8 RP ]
[ Effect: A lightweight cloak that repels rain and wind. Provides comfort during travel but offers no combat protection. ]
[ Pocket Music Box ] [ 1/1 ]
[ Cost: 6 RP ]
[ Effect: A hand‑cranked music box that plays a calming tune. No tactical advantage, but it improves morale and helps survivors sleep. ]
Her lips curved into a smile as she saw the cloak... The design looks pretty good.
"Eight points for comfort... It’s expensive, so it must have special effects.... but I can’t see it unless I purchase the item."
Mei sighed. "If there are no other effects, Kai’s clothes would be better... But still, this is a new outfit... Whoever buys this will look smug every time it rains."
Then, as she looked at the music box, Mei couldn’t help but shake her head.
"Six points for a lullaby, huh..."
In the end, Mei didn’t purchase anything. What she wanted were better items like the illusion device Claire had obtained!
