The notification didn’t end yet as Traceless received more.

[ Warning: Some tested poisons may cause severe pain, temporary paralysis, hallucinations, organ damage, or loss of consciousness. ]

[ Warning: Although the poisons used in the experiment are not classified as immediately lethal under normal testing conditions, serious complications may occur depending on the subject’s resistance. ]

[ Mission Reward upon Completion: 1 Skill Point, 1,200 Experience Points, 5 Gold ]

Traceless’s expression became slightly strange.

’Temporary paralysis? Hallucinations? Organ damage?’

He stared at the notification for a moment.

Furthermore, the antidotes provided couldn’t completely eliminate the danger either.

That was definitely a red flag!

Thankfully, this was just a game, and even if he really died, then he would just respawn after 24 hours!

However, he was concerned if the debuff would continue to haunt him...

’It’s dangerous, but I have four different advantages.’ Levi muttered.

Furthermore, he would have access to antidotes and emergency treatment. Even if they can’t fully cure him, his Gene Skills should be strong enough to negate the other negative effects.

’If I can survive it, I’ll get another Skill Point.’

That was what mattered most.

One Skill Point could significantly improve one of his skills, and unlike ordinary Experience Points or credits, Skill Points were much harder to obtain.

Traceless looked at the two missions again.

One required him to spar with a noble child for four hours a day over five days.

The other required him to participate in at least three poison tests over seven days.

’One is easy, and the other is dangerous.’

Traceless’s lips slowly curled into a smile.

’But both are worth it.’

Traceless was already thinking about which abilities he wanted to improve.

His Spirit Barrier was still at Level 0, and he had only recently acquired it. Increasing its level would obviously make it more reliable during dangerous battles.

At the same time, there were several other skills that could benefit from additional levels.

’I’ll decide after I get the Skill Points.’

For now, there was no reason to rush.

He had just arrived in Leonine Town, and he had already found two missions that could provide exactly what he wanted.

More importantly, both missions lasted several days, which meant that he could use his time efficiently.

He could spend four hours each day sparring with the noble child, while the poison testing would only happen according to the researcher’s schedule.

That left him with plenty of time to explore the city, search for other missions, and perhaps even hunt powerful monsters outside Leonine Town.

Traceless couldn’t help but feel satisfied.

’Katrina was right.’

Leonine Town really did have better opportunities.

He had only just arrived, yet he had already obtained a Rare Item Chest, discovered two special missions with Skill Point rewards, and found a place where he could potentially improve his strength much faster than he could in Reverie Town.

Traceless looked toward the bustling Adventurers’ Guild.

For some reason, he felt that his journey in Perfect World was finally beginning to enter a new stage.

’Let’s see how much stronger I can become here.’

***

For the next several days, Kai’s life became surprisingly busy.

He would spend most of his time inside Perfect World, but every few hours, he would log out to check on the situation in Cameron City before returning to his room and putting on the Neural Gear once again.

The first thing he always did after logging out was check the World Chat and Guild Chat...

The second thing was usually asking Farrah about the shop.

"How are things?"

Farrah would always give him the same answer.

"Busy."

Kai initially thought she was exaggerating.

Then he stepped outside his room and saw the line of people waiting in front of the shop.

He stared at it for several seconds.

’Ah.’

Apparently, she wasn’t exaggerating.

Kai’s Shop, his shop, had become increasingly popular throughout Cameron City.

At first, it had only been a small shop selling strange items that survivors occasionally found useful. Most people who came in were simply curious because they had heard rumors about the shop’s unusual products.

However, after several weeks, word had begun spreading.

The shop always had something useful, the products were reliable, and the prices were reasonable.

And, most importantly, the owner somehow managed to restock items that other shops could no longer obtain.

Farrah had also become quite skilled at managing the store.

She had learned which products were in constant demand and which ones should only be brought out occasionally.

The fire extinguishers were among the most popular.

After all, fires were a constant danger in a city filled with temporary shelters, generators, electrical equipment, and improvised cooking areas.

The calming incense sets were also surprisingly popular.

Many survivors suffered from anxiety and stress after living through the apocalypse, and although incense couldn’t solve their problems, some people found that the familiar scent helped them relax.

Then there were the field tents, insulated sleeping bags, heavy-duty flashlights, thermal blankets, and heavy-duty raincoats.

Those products were especially popular among people who frequently traveled outside the city.

Farrah had quickly realized that she couldn’t sell everything at once.

If she emptied the shop’s inventory every day, people would eventually begin asking questions about where the products came from.

Instead, she began rotating the merchandise.

Sometimes, a customer would walk into the shop and find exactly what they expected.

Other times, they would discover something that hadn’t been available for several days.

That simple strategy made the shop feel as though it had a constantly changing inventory.

The food section was even more popular.

Canned goods disappeared quickly.

Instant noodles were almost impossible to keep in stock.

Granola bars were purchased by travelers and hunters who needed something convenient to carry.

Tea bags became popular among older survivors, while mayonnaise somehow became a surprisingly valuable item.

Kai had initially found that strange, but then, Farrah explained it to him.

"People miss normal food."

Kai could only nod.

That was something he understood.

In the apocalypse, even something as simple as adding mayonnaise to a meal could make a person feel like they were living normally again.

The shop also occasionally brought back older products like, folding bicycles, helmets, dried fruits and nuts, coffee sachets, wristwatches, water gallons, and finally, stainless steel tumblers.

All of them had come from Kai’s infinite gift pack talent!

Those items were never displayed at the same time.

Instead, Farrah would quietly bring them out when she thought the timing was appropriate.

It had created an interesting situation.

Some customers had started visiting the shop regularly.

One particular man, a middle-aged survivor named Gordon, had become a frequent customer.

He had purchased a folding bicycle during one of the shop’s earlier rotations and had apparently become quite attached to it.

Every few days, he would enter the shop and immediately ask the same question.

"Do you have anything new?"

"You were here yesterday." Farrah muttered as she gave him a tired look.

"I know."

"And the day before that."

"I know."

"So why are you asking?"

Gordon smiled proudly.

"Because you might have received something new today."

Farrah had no answer to that.

One afternoon, Gordon came into the shop again.

He looked around carefully before approaching the counter.

"Any coffee?"

Farrah shook her head.

"Not today."

"Tea?"

"Yes."

"How much?"

"Three boxes."

Gordon’s expression immediately became serious.

"I’ll take all of them."

Farrah raised an eyebrow.

"All three?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

Farrah sighed before placing the tea on the counter... "All yours."

"Nice..."

Gordon immediately paid... It was worth 600 Credits!

Outside this shop, Farrah could use those Credits to purchase three weeks of food!

But as Gordon was leaving, another customer entered.

The man was young, perhaps in his early twenties, and he immediately noticed the tea on Gordon’s hands.

"Wait."

Gordon stopped as soon as he heard this. The young man then looked at Farrah.

"Do you have more?"

Farrah thought for a moment before replying... "No."

"Are you sure?"

Farrah’s expression remained calm and she nodded.

The young man looked toward Gordon.

"How much did you pay for those?"

Gordon frowned.

"Why?"

"I want to buy them from you."

Gordon immediately tightened his grip around the boxes. There was no way he’d let that happen.

"No."

"I’ll pay more."

"Not possible."

"I’ll give you double."

Gordon looked offended and shook his head.

"Do you think I’m going to sell them after waiting three days to buy them?"

The young man frowned.

"It’s just tea."

Gordon stared at him.

"Then why are you offering double?"

The two men continued staring at each other until Farrah finally interrupted.

"Please leave."

The young man looked annoyed.

"I haven’t done anything."

"You’re blocking the entrance."

That finally ended the argument.

Gordon left with his tea while the young man reluctantly moved aside.

Farrah watched him go.

’Every day, there is something new.’

She had originally thought running a shop would be easy.

Now she understood why Kai had hired her.

However, the young man seemed problematic... she couldn’t help but worry a little.
