Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 131: Blood-Empress’s SurrenderThe golden glow of Liu Xiao’s healing aura faded slowly from Azshara’s shoulder, leaving her skin flawless and completely restored. Yet, despite being physically healed, the Blood-Empress stood frozen in Min-jae’s arms, her glowing crimson eyes wide with a mixture of shock and profound disbelief.
She had spent ten thousand years standing alone, carrying the crushing, solitary burden of a fallen dynasty, fighting every battle without a single ally. To have someone step in, erase an entire army with a single snap, and casually offer to conquer the universe for her was a foreign, overwhelming concept.
"You... you are actually serious," Azshara whispered, her voice losing its previous razor-sharp edge, replaced by a quiet, trembling vulnerability. "You would help me conquer the Ancestral Vault just like that? What do you expect in return? My crown? My soul?"
Min-jae let out a low, rich chuckle, his hand resting securely around her narrow waist. He leaned down slightly, meeting her intense crimson gaze with a warm, confident smirk.
"I don’t need your crown, Azshara. And your soul is already far too interesting to just take," Min-jae murmured softly. "As for what I want in return... let’s just say my imperial household has plenty of room for one more fiercely proud empress."
Azshara’s cheeks flushed a brilliant, burning crimson. She tried to maintain her regal composure, but the sheer warmth radiating from his body and the absolute sincerity in his eyes made her heart skip a beat. She averted her gaze, biting her lower lip before letting out a soft, defeated sigh.
"You truly are an impossible man..." she muttered, her shoulders slumping slightly as she finally let go of her rigid defiance. She looked up at him, her tone softening into something much more intimate. "Very well. If you are brazen enough to offer, then I, Azshara of the Abyssal Dynasty, accept your alliance. Lead the way, my lord."
Back on the floating obsidian platform, Yoo Ji-a, Lin Miao, and the rest of the queens stepped out of a newly opened starlight portal, clapping lightly.
"Well look at that," Ji-a grinned, walking over with a playful sway in her step. "Another stubborn monarch successfully converted. Welcome to the family, Azshara. I’m Ji-a, and trust me, sharing the emperor’s attention is much more fun than fighting wars alone."
Azshara blinked, looking around at the eleven breathtaking, powerful women who surrounded her with warm, welcoming smiles instead of jealousy or hostility. Even Lin Miao gave her a cheerful wave, her nine white tails swaying behind her.
"A... a household of queens?" Azshara stammered lightly, raising an elegant eyebrow as she looked from Ji-a to Min-jae. "You built an entire empire out of powerful women?"
"Quality over quantity, princess," Min-jae laughed, pulling Azshara closer against his side as he turned toward the horizon. "Now, the Ancestral Vault’s final trial awaits us. Let’s go see what kind of challenge this realm has prepared for our new team."
After some time.....
Azshara sat near the center of the plush velvet sofa. She had traded her battle-torn dragon-scale armor for a sleek, elegant gown of midnight-silk and crimson embroidery, though the jagged obsidian crown still floated proudly above her ink-black hair. Her glowing crimson eyes were fixed on the steaming cup of celestial tea in her hands, her mind still racing to process her new reality.
"You’ve been staring at that cup for five minutes, Azshara," Yoo Ji-a teased gently, taking a seat on the opposite end of the sofa with a warm, welcoming smile. "Relax. In this household, you don’t have to carry the weight of an entire dynasty on your shoulders anymore."
Azshara looked up, her piercing crimson gaze softening slightly as she met Ji-a’s eyes. She set the cup down on the low crystal table and let out a long, slow breath.
"It is simply... difficult to unlearn a lifetime of survival," Azshara admitted, her voice carrying a rare, raw honesty. "For ten thousand years, every breath I took was a battle. To suddenly have someone step into the fire, erase my enemies with a snap of his fingers, and offer me a home... it feels almost like a dream I’m afraid to wake up from."
Liu Xiao walked over, resting a gentle, reassuring hand on Azshara’s shoulder. "It’s not a dream, princess. It’s just what happens when you stumble into a True God who collects strong, stubborn women like rare artifacts."
Across the room, Min-jae leaned against a crystal pillar, watching the exchange with an amused, affectionate grin. He pushed off the pillar and walked over, stepping right up to Azshara. Without a word, he reached down, took her hand, and pulled her smoothly to her feet, drawing her flush against his chest.
Azshara gasped softly, her cheeks flushing a brilliant, heated crimson as her glowing eyes locked onto his dark ones. "M-Min-jae... the others are watching..."
"Let them watch," Min-jae murmured darkly, a playful smirk curving his lips as his hand slid around her narrow waist, pressing into the soft curves of her hips. "They’re all waiting for you to fully realize that you belong to this household now."
Lin Miao giggled from across the room, her nine white tails swaying happily. "Go on, Azshara! Give in to the harem hospitality! It’s much warmer than your old obsidian fortress!"
Azshara glared playfully at Miao, but any sharp retort she had prepared evaporated the moment Min-jae cupped her cheek with his free hand, his thumb gently stroking her porcelain skin.
"You fought alone for too long, Azshara," Min-jae whispered, his voice dropping into a deep, hypnotic purr. "From now on, any battle you face is our battle. And any victory we claim, we share."
Azshara’s breath hitched. The last remaining walls of her icy, guarded heart completely shattered. She wrapped her arms securely around his neck, pulling him down into a deep, passionate, and utterly consuming kiss.
"Mmm~" a soft, breathless sigh escaped her lips as their tongues met, tasting of sweet nectar and raw, overwhelming desire. Her whole body melted against his frame, completely surrendering to the warmth and safety he provided.
Liu Xiao chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Well, there goes the Blood-Empress’s stern exterior. That defense crumbled faster than the Dragon Syndicate’s fleet."
Before the romantic tension in the lounge could escalate into a full-scale bedroom retreat, the ship’s navigation runes flashed with a sharp, warning .
[ Warning! Massive energy spike detected at the Obsidian Citadel! ]
[ An ancient defense construct is activating! ]
Min-jae pulled back just an inch from Azshara, kissing her forehead lightly before turning his attention toward the panoramic window. Azshara blinked, catching her breath, her crimson eyes flashing with sudden tactical alertness as she smoothed down her silk gown.
"The Citadel’s Guardian," Azshara said sharply, stepping up beside Min-jae. "The final trial before the primordial throne. It is an ancient, multi-headed primordial hydra forged from pure void-stone and dark lightning. Even at the height of my dynasty’s power, my ancestors lost thousands of elite warriors just trying to scratch its scales."
"A multi-headed rock lizard?" Major General Ye-rin snorted, cracking her knuckles with an eager grin. "Sounds like someone brought oversized lawn ornaments to a god fight."
"Let’s not crowd the driveway," Min-jae smirked. "Azshara, since this is your realm’s final trial, how about you and I break it open together?"
Azshara’s crimson eyes flared with sudden, fierce excitement. A confident, lethal smile curved her lips—the true, terrifying expression of a blood-empress unleashed. "With pleasure, my lord."
Min-jae didn’t bother wasting time on fleet maneuvers. With a casual wave of his hand, a spatial portal tore open directly outside the airlock, and the two of them stepped out together onto the floating obsidian platform facing the massive gates of the citadel.
From the shadows of the ancient fortress, the ground shook violently.
A colossal, five-headed hydra—stretching miles wide, its scales made of jagged obsidian and crackling with volatile purple-and-black void lightning—burst from the earth, letting out a reality-shattering roar that echoed across the dimension.
"intruders!" the hydra roared, its five massive jaws snapping open to unleash a torrential storm of reality-melting void fire straight at them.
Azshara stepped forward, her dark hair and crimson dress whipping wildly in the gale. Her hands glowed with blinding, blood-red celestial fire as she summoned her ultimate bloodline art: [The Crimson Sovereign’s Wrath.]
"This is for ten thousand years of sealing my dynasty!" Azshara screamed, unleashing a massive, towering wave of crimson dragon-fire that met the hydra’s void blast dead-on.
The ensuing shockwave tore the surrounding stone floating islands apart, sending shockwaves across the sky. But while Azshara’s attack held the hydra’s center heads at bay, two of the side heads lunged toward her blind spot, snapping their razor-sharp jaws shut with lethal speed.
Before the void-fire could touch her, Min-jae materialized instantly in front of her.
He didn’t even draw a weapon. He simply raised his right hand and clenched his fist.
[ True God Authority: Absolute Shatter.]
A blinding flash of golden starlight erupted from his knuckles. With a concussive boom that echoed like a dying star, the entire five-headed primordial hydra froze mid-motion, cracked down the center, and completely shattered into a billion harmless fragments of glittering starlight dust.
The entire dimension went silent.
Azshara stood frozen, her chest heaving as she stared at the empty space where the invincible guardian had stood just a microsecond ago. She turned her head slowly, looking up at Min-jae in absolute, breathless awe.
Min-jae turned to her, a warm, confident smirk on his face as he brushed a speck of dust off his shoulder. "Not bad for a warm-up, princess. Ready to claim the throne?"
Azshara let out a bright, unrestrained laugh—a sound full of genuine joy and liberation she hadn’t felt in ten thousand years. She threw her arms around his neck, pressing her lips hard to his in a fierce, triumphant kiss.
"Let’s claim it," she whispered against his lips, her eyes shining with absolute devotion.
