Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 147: first childEight months vanished into the idyllic peace of the alpine sanctuary, but the final night of Liu Xiao’s pregnancy shattered that tranquility with the force of a cosmic storm.
The birth of a True God’s firstborn was never going to be a quiet, mortal affair. The child was a pure amalgamation of Min-jae’s absolute divinity and Liu Xiao’s supreme emerald prana. As the contractions began, the sheer density of the infant’s spiritual energy began to warp the reality inside the cabin.
Outside, the sky tore itself open. A localized aurora of swirling gold and emerald light blanketed the valley, and the atmospheric pressure dropped so violently that the surrounding quartz mountains hummed like tuning forks.
Inside the star-metal reinforced nursery, the tension was suffocating.
"The spatial fabric is tearing around her!" Major General Ye-rin shouted over the roaring wind that had somehow manifested insidenthe room. She and Azshara were standing on either side of the bed, their hands glowing as they projected heavy containment barriers just to keep the room from imploding.
"I’ve got the barriers! Just focus on him, Xiao!" Azshara commanded, her crimson eyes blazing with fierce, sisterly devotion as she poured her Abyssal energy into the walls to stabilize the cabin.
On the bed, Liu Xiao gripped the sheets, her knuckles white, her face soaked in sweat. Her emerald eyes were glowing with blinding intensity, her breath coming in ragged, painful gasps.
Min-jae knelt right beside her, entirely ignoring the chaotic maelstrom of energy whipping through the room. He held her hand in both of his, his golden aura wrapping around her like a warm, indestructible blanket, continuously feeding her his own life-force to soothe the agonizing strain on her spiritual matrix.
"I’m here, Xiao. I’m right here," Min-jae murmured, his voice a deep, resonant anchor amidst the storm. He kissed her damp forehead, his eyes filled with profound respect and overwhelming love. "You’re doing beautifully. Just a little more. Let it out."
"It... it burns, Min-jae!" Xiao cried out, arching her back as a wave of pure, concentrated starlight flared from her abdomen. "He’s... he’s fighting the physical plane!"
"Then we rewrite the plane," Min-jae growled.
His eyes flared into twin suns. He didn’t just suppress the energy; he grabbed hold of the localized reality inside the nursery and forced it to expand, creating a seamless dimensional pocket that could comfortably house the birth of a god.
"Now, Xiao! Push!" Min-jae commanded, his voice vibrating with divine authority.
With a final, earth-shattering scream that shattered every glass window in the cabin (thankfully, the star-metal held), Xiao pushed.
A blinding flash of golden-green light consumed the room, forcing even Azshara and Ye-rin to shield their eyes.
Then, the storm instantly vanished. The howling wind died, the spatial tears sealed themselves, and the heavy, crushing pressure evaporated into the scent of blooming lotuses and morning rain.
In the sudden, ringing silence, a sharp, healthy, and incredibly loud cry echoed through the nursery.
Min-jae looked down at the bundle in the soft silk blankets. His hands, which had crushed the armor of ancient sentinels and shattered galaxies, were trembling slightly as he carefully scooped the newborn into his arms.
It was a boy.
He had a tuft of incredibly soft, ink-black hair, but when the infant slowly opened his crying eyes, the entire room gasped. His left eye was a piercing, vibrant emerald green like his mother’s, and his right eye was a glowing, radiant gold like his father’s.
"He’s perfect," Min-jae whispered, his voice cracking with a raw, unfiltered emotion that he hadn’t felt in centuries. A single tear slipped down the True God’s cheek. He gently walked the baby over to Xiao, who lay exhausted but glowing with absolute, triumphant joy.
Min-jae laid the baby softly against her chest, leaning down to press a deep, lingering, and immensely tender kiss to Xiao’s lips.
"You did it, my Empress," Min-jae whispered against her mouth, his thumb gently stroking her cheek. "You gave me a miracle."
Xiao sniffled, smiling through her tears as the baby instantly calmed down against her warmth, his tiny fingers instinctively wrapping around one of Min-jae’s fingers. "He’s so strong... He feels like a tiny sun." She looked up at Min-jae. "What do we name him?"
Min-jae looked at the boy, feeling the immense, latent cosmic power already humming in the infant’s veins. He was the bridge between a mortal cultivator’s absolute peak and a True God’s infinite authority.
"Aeron," Min-jae said smoothly, the name resonating with power. "Aeron Tae-jin. The Great Star of Truth. He will be the zenith of everything we have built."
"Aeron..." Xiao tested the name on her tongue, her smile widening. "It’s perfect. Aeron Tae-jin."
The doors to the nursery burst open. Lin Miao, medusa and the rest of the queens flooded into the room, abandoning all military decorum or royal poise. They crowded around the bed, a chorus of high-pitched squeals, happy tears, and breathless awe filling the room.
"Oh, look at his eyes!" Miao whispered, her nine tails wagging so fast they were a blur. "He’s gorgeous! Xiao, he’s beautiful!"
As the wives took turns gently touching the baby’s tiny hands and congratulating Xiao, the crowd parted slightly.
Medusa stepped forward. She wasn’t wearing her usual tight battle-silks; instead, she wore a loose, elegant emerald gown. She looked down at the baby with a surprisingly soft, affectionate smile, before looking up at Min-jae with that signature, dangerously smug glint in her eye.
"Well," Medusa purred, placing a hand smoothly over her own lower abdomen. "He’s very cute, Xiao. Truly. But don’t get too comfortable hogging all the Emperor’s attention. Because Aeron is going to need a playmate."
Min-jae blinked, looking from Medusa’s face down to where her hand rested. "Wait... Medusa, are you...?"
"Three months," Medusa declared proudly, her chest puffing out as she strutted over to Min-jae, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him a deep, passionate kiss right in front of everyone. She pulled back, her eyes sparkling with wicked triumph. "I told you I was next. All that ’extra detention’ paid off brilliantly."
"Oh, please, don’t act like you’re the only one who got extra lessons," Yoo Ji-a chimed in from the doorway, leaning against the frame with a wide, Cheshire-cat grin. She crossed her arms, casually resting a hand over her own stomach. "I’m two and a half months along myself."
The room descended into absolute, joyous chaos.
Min-jae stared at Ji-a, then at Medusa, and finally at Xiao, who was laughing so hard she had to hold her sides. Three children. Three heirs to the universe, growing right here in their alpine sanctuary.
Min-jae let out a booming, breathless laugh, wrapping Medusa in a tight hug before pulling Ji-a into the embrace as well, kissing both of them fiercely. "You are all going to be the death of me," he chuckled, his heart overflowing with a staggering amount of love and pride. "A family of gods. The Architects are going to be terrified."
Before the celebration could continue, a sudden, jarring screech tore through the valley outside.
It wasn’t the sound of the weather. It was a psychic scream that vibrated in their teeth—the unmistakable frequency of Void-Stalkers. The massive surge of divine energy from Aeron’s birth had acted like a cosmic flare, punching a hole in their localized dimension and attracting a swarm of parasitic predators from the outer void.
The happy, domestic atmosphere vanished instantly.
Min-jae’s golden eyes snapped toward the window, turning cold, lethal, and utterly merciless.
"They dare interrupt my son’s first day?" Min-jae growled, the temperature in the room dropping to absolute zero.
"We’ll handle it," Azshara said, her obsidian sword materializing in her hand as her crimson eyes ignited with Abyssal fire. Miao, Ye-rin, and the twins drew their weapons simultaneously, their auras exploding with terrifying, protective rage.
"No," Min-jae said, his voice quiet but echoing with a terrifying finality. He looked at Azshara, then gently touched Xiao’s forehead, before kissing Medusa and Ji-a on the cheeks. "You three stay here with the baby. The rest of you, keep the perimeter shielded."
Min-jae turned and walked out onto the wooden porch of the cabin.
High above the crystal lake, the sky had ripped open like a jagged wound. A swarm of grotesque, multi-eyed leviathans—each the size of a battleship—poured through the rift, drawn by the scent of the newborn god.
Min-jae didn’t summon his sword. He didn’t even drop into a combat stance. He simply levitated off the porch, rising into the sky until he was face-to-face with the apocalyptic swarm.
"You picked the wrong day," Min-jae whispered.
He clapped his hands together once.
A shockwave of pure, golden-white kinetic energy erupted from his palms. It didn’t just strike the Void-Stalkers; it completely erased the concept of their existence within a fifty-mile radius. The massive leviathans froze in mid-air, their bodies turning to ash, and then to nothingness, as the sheer, overwhelming authority of a True God protecting his family obliterated them on a subatomic level.
With a simple wave of his hand, Min-jae grabbed the jagged tear in the sky and pulled it shut, sewing reality back together as easily as closing a curtain.
The threat was over in less than five seconds.
Min-jae floated back down to the porch, dusting off his hands. The valley was silent once more, save for the gentle chirp of crickets.
When he walked back into the nursery, the tension had completely evaporated. Xiao was nursing little Aeron, while Medusa and Ji-a sat on the edge of the bed, watching with soft, maternal awe.
Azshara walked up to him, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her chin on his chest. "Show-off," she murmured, though her crimson eyes were filled with profound respect and burning desire. "You didn’t leave any for us."
"I have a family to protect," Min-jae smiled, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face in her dark hair. "I’m not taking any chances."
Medusa looked up from the bed, her emerald eyes flashing with that familiar, sultry heat as she looked at Min-jae. "Well... seeing the Emperor obliterate an entire cosmic swarm just to keep our baby’s room quiet is... incredibly attractive."
"Highly stimulating," Ji-a agreed, biting her lower lip as she looked him up and down.
Min-jae laughed, the heavy weight of his divine power melting back into the warm, caring aura of a devoted husband. He walked over, gathering Ji-a and Medusa into his arms while keeping a protective hand resting gently on Xiao’s shoulder.
"You three need rest," Min-jae ordered gently, looking at the pregnant queens and the new mother. Then, his gaze shifted toward Azshara, Miao, Vance, and the others standing by the door. A wicked, deeply romantic smirk touched his lips. "But for those of you who aren’t on bed rest... I think the Emperor requires a proper reward for defending the castle."
Lin Miao’s tails puffed out in immediate excitement, and Azshara’s smile turned lethal and hungry.
As the night settled over the valley, the cabin remained a fortress of absolute safety, filled with the soft, cooing sounds of new life, the laughter of a united family, and the deep, passionate romance of a God who had truly conquered both the universe and the hearts of his queens.
