Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 150: final war [2]The catastrophic tension of the battlefield returned instantly, devoid of any interruption. The spatial rift trembled under the raw, unadulterated weight of the Destroyer’s presence.
The entity clad in sleek, razor-sharp black armor, crowned with twisted obsidian horns and a terrifying obsidian crown, stared down at Min-jae with eyes burning like pools of fresh blood. His long, raven-black hair whipped violently in the void-wind, and his ankle-length black trench coat billowed against the backdrop of a dying cosmos.
"You talk of putting me back in the dirt, little anomaly," the Destroyer rumbled, his voice shaking the tectonic plates of reality like an earthquake. "Let me introduce you to the true architect of absolute ruin. My name is Marcus, the Sovereign of the Void, and your little dynasty ends right here."
Marcus didn’t waste a heartbeat. He detonated his aura, sending a shockwave of jet-black plasma and entropy outward that instantly vaporized the terrain for miles.
"Form lines! Do not let his pressure break our resonance!" Min-jae roared, his True God authority flaring into a blinding, golden-white sun that washed over the entire allied army, stabilizing every god, successor, and family member on the field.
"Kaelith! Valen! Take the vanguard!" Azshara commanded, her obsidian blade igniting with crimson dragon-fire as she and Liu Xiao flanked their eldest sons. "Show him what the Zenith can do!"
Behind Marcus, the void tore open into a jagged, bleeding chasm, unleashing millions of towering Abyssal Reapers that surged forward like a plague of dark matter.
"For the cosmos!" Aurelia shouted, raising her hands as an overwhelming storm of golden solar pillars rained down, instantly incinerating the front ranks of the advancing horde.
The battlefield exploded into total, unmitigated war.
Kaelith swung his blade in a lethal arc, unleashing a wave of Abyssal-dragon fire that sliced through fifty reaper brutes at once. Beside him, Valen shifted through spatial folds like a phantom, his shadow-spear piercing the cores of elite commanders with brutal, flawless efficiency. Lyra and her sisters wove overlapping starlight barriers and fox-fire tempests, trapping thousands of enemies in localized temporal loops.
"They can’t break our lines!" Yoo Ji-a laughed wildly, her shadow-spear dripping with dark energy as she cleaved through a giant beast, her eyes shining with fierce maternal pride.
While the armies clashed in an ocean of blood and destruction, Marcus ignored the lesser fighters entirely. His glowing crimson gaze locked exclusively onto the two entities standing at the apex of the alliance: Min-jae and Aurelia.
"The Creator, and her little puppet," Marcus mocked, his voice dripping with venomous amusement as he dragged his massive, reality-cleaving scythe across the shattered obsidian floor. "Let us see if your synchronization can survive the true weight of the abyss."
Marcus vanished.
There was no sound—just an instantaneous displacement of reality. He materialized directly between Min-jae and Aurelia, his scythe sweeping in a brutal, horizontal decapitation strike designed to take both their heads off at once.
"Aurelia, shield!" Min-jae shouted.
Aurelia crossed her arms, invoking the ancient prana of the First Dawn. A massive, crystalline barrier of pure starlight slammed into existence around them.
The impact of Marcus’s scythe against the barrier sent a shockwave that obliterated the remaining obsidian floor beneath them. Aurelia coughed up a spray of divine blood, her barrier fracturing with thousands of spiderweb cracks under the sheer, suffocating mass of Marcus’s power.
"He’s too heavy!" Aurelia gasped, her yellow eyes widening as Marcus applied more pressure.
"Not on my watch," Min-jae roared.
Min-jae stepped past the fracturing barrier, his ancient sword raised high with both hands. He channeled the combined, echoing power of his twelve queens, his twenty children, and his own infinite True God core into the blade until the runes shone with a sun-like brilliance.
He brought the sword down in a ferocious, vertical chop aimed straight at Marcus’s crown.
Marcus snarled, forced to abandon his attack on Aurelia. He whipped his scythe upward to parry Min-jae’s strike.
When the ancient sword collided with Marcus’s reality-scythe, the sound was like two dimensions colliding head-on. The kinetic fallout tore a massive, permanent rift in the fabric of space-time, instantly obliterating fifty thousand Abyssal Reapers caught in the crossfire.
Marcus slid back across the bedrock, his boots trenching deep into the stone. He looked down at his scythe; a small, jagged chip was missing from the blade. His crimson eyes flashed with genuine shock and sudden, murderous fury.
"You chipped my weapon, mortal," Marcus whispered, his voice vibrating with dark, suffocating rage. "You actually have teeth."
"I told you," Min-jae said, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Aurelia, his golden eyes burning with absolute dominion, his ancient sword humming with deadly intent. "We’re here to put you back in the dirt."
"Let’s test that resolve," Marcus laughed, a cold, terrifying sound that echoed across the dying cosmos as he raised his scythe for a second, catastrophic assault.
The shockwave from Min-jae and Marcus’s initial clash ripped across the shattered obsidian floor of the Origin Point, sending jagged fissures splintering in all directions. The Sovereign of the Void sneered, his crimson eyes blazing with murderous intent as he hefted his reality-cleaving scythe for a counter-attack.
"You think a single chipped blade makes you a match for me?" Marcus roared, channeling a tidal wave of pure entropy that threatened to swallow the entire frontline.
"He’s not fighting alone!"
A razor-sharp flash of crimson and gold cut through the suffocating darkness. Azshara, the Blood-Empress, materialized instantly at Min-jae’s flank. Her midnight-silk robe whipped around her as she drove her obsidian sword forward, unleashing a point-blank torrent of Abyssal dragon-fire directly into Marcus’s chest-plate.
Simultaneously, Liu Xiao materialized overhead, her emerald eyes burning with fierce determination. She slammed her palms together, projecting a massive, multi-layered geometric forcefield that locked around Marcus’s arms, temporarily halting the swing of his scythe.
"Now, husband!" Xiao shouted.
Min-jae didn’t hesitate. Seizing the opening created by his wives, he poured the infinite prana of his True God core into his ancient blade and delivered a brutal, point-blank thrust straight at Marcus’s shoulder.
The blade pierced through the dark-matter armor, drawing the first drop of black, stellar blood from the Sovereign of the Abyss. Marcus roared in a mix of fury and pain, sweeping his aura outward in a violent shockwave that blasted Azshara and Xiao backward.
While Min-jae, Aurelia, Azshara, and Xiao grappled with Marcus at the apex of the battlefield, the surrounding expanse erupted into a multi-tiered war where the rest of the family and the surviving gods showcased their absolute supremacy.
"Form the divine phalanx!" Kaelith, eldest son of Azshara, shouted over the roar of the void. His blade blazed with a mirror-image of his mother’s Abyssal fire as he led his brothers and sisters into the heart of the Abyssal Reaper swarm.
Beside him, Valen vanished into a fold of space-time, reappearing behind a colossal reaper commander to drive his shadow-spear straight through its core.
A few hundred yards away, Lyra and her sisters harmonized their fox-fire and starlight techniques, weaving a massive, interlocking barrier net that caught thousands of surging void-beasts and incinerated them in a brilliant flash of prismatic light.
"They’re fighting beautifully," Yoo Ji-a laughed, her shadow-spear flashing in the dark as she cleaved through a cluster of reapers alongside Medusa, whose toxic daggers melted enemy armor instantly.
"Don’t get distracted, Ji-a! The foreign gods need our backup on the western flank!" Major General Ye-rin barked, firing a concentrated beam of kinetic energy that obliterated a massive void-leviathan threatening to crush a group of struggling foreign successors.
Inspired by the sheer, unyielding ferocity of Min-jae’s family, the surviving ancient gods—who had initially been on the verge of collapsing under Marcus’s aura—pushed past their limits.
"We are the original guardians of this cosmos! We will not fall here!" an ancient solar deity roared, his decaying divine form suddenly blazing with a brilliant, second-wind supernova of light. He unleashed a barrage of sun-lance projectiles that tore through the elite reaper ranks.
Kaelen and the other surviving successors rallied behind the ancient gods, fighting with a desperate, unified coordination. They weren’t just surviving anymore; they were pushing the tide back, carving a bloody, glowing path through the dark army.
Marcus, locked in combat with Min-jae, Aurelia, Azshara, and Xiao, glanced sideways and caught sight of his army being systematically dismantled by the thirty-plus members of Min-jae’s family and the revitalized pantheon. His crimson eyes flashed with genuine disbelief and rage.
"How?!" Marcus snarled, slamming his scythe down with enough force to shatter the remaining bedrock beneath them. "How can a bunch of half-blood mortals and exhausted gods push back the infinite void?!"
"Because you fight for nothingness," Min-jae answered, his golden eyes burning with absolute dominion as he raised his sword alongside his wives, ready for the next wave. "We fight for everything."
