Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 151: final war [3] light vs darknessThe battlefield, which had momentarily echoed with the triumphant shouts of Min-jae’s family and the revitalized pantheon, fell instantly dead silent.
Marcus, the Sovereign of the Abyss, stood amid the shattered bedrock, his black armor slick with stellar blood. He slowly lowered his massive reality-cleaving scythe, his chest rising and falling in a rhythmic, terrifying cadence. Then, a low rumble started deep within his throat, building into a harsh, ear-shattering burst of laughter that echoed like thunder across the dying cosmos.
"Ha... HAHAHAHA!"
Marcus’s laughter was madness incarnate. It twisted the air around him, turning the surrounding void into a vortex of howling vacuum.
"You think this is a war?" Marcus smiled, his crimson eyes flashing with a sickening, absolute amusement. "You think cutting a scratch into my armor and slaughtering my vanguard means you have touched the edges of power? You are playing in the shallow end of eternity, little godling."
Marcus raised his left hand, and his fingers slowly snapped shut.
A wave of pressure so catastrophic, so suffocatingly dense that it bypassed physical laws entirely, erupted from his core. It wasn’t just a physical shockwave; it was the raw, unadulterated concept of total entropy crashing down upon the dimensional plane.
The immediate fallout was instantaneous and devastating. Across the battlefield, the surviving foreign gods collapsed to their knees, gasping for air as their divine cores cracked under the weight. Even Major General Ye-rin, azshara, and several of the younger children fell heavily onto the ground, their weapons clattering away as their legs failed them.
Azshara, Liu Xiao, and Medusa, Bylai gritted their teeth, their faces turning deathly pale as they forced themselves to stay upright, though their knees buckled beneath the colossal gravity of Marcus’s aura.
"The pressure... it’s like trying to hold up a dying star..." Xiao choked out, a drop of blood slipping from the corner of her mouth.
Marcus stepped forward, his dark aura crushing everything in its path. "Kneel. All of you. Acknowledge the absolute silence that awaits creation."
Min-jae watched his family drop. He saw his wives straining against the crushing void, and his children gasping for breath on the floor.
A cold, absolute fury ignited behind Min-jae’s golden eyes.
"You want absolute power, Marcus?" Min-jae whispered, his voice carrying the freezing authority of an executioner. "I’ll show you what an infinite core looks like."
Min-jae threw his head back and unleashed his full, unsuppressed True God authority.
It was an explosion of brilliant, golden-white and prismatic life-force. A pillar of pure creation erupted from Min-jae’s body, instantly clashing head-on with Marcus’s wall of absolute darkness.
The two opposing forces—the light of infinite life and the dark of absolute ruin—collided in the center of the dimensional plane. The shockwave of their energy meeting caused the reality around them to fracture into a million sparkling glass shards.
And then, a miracle happened.
The moment Min-jae’s golden light washed over his family, the crushing pressure vanished. Azshara gasped, her eyes flashing with renewed fury as she stood back up, her obsidian blade re-igniting with dragon-fire. Xiao, Medusa, Ji-a, and all twenty children rose in unison, their individual divine prana locking instantly into their father’s frequency.
"That’s our husband!" Medusa shouted, a fierce grin crossing her face as her toxic daggers blazed to life.
"Let’s show him what happens when you threaten the true God" Kaelith roared, his Abyssal-dragon fire merging with the golden aura radiating from Min-jae.
For a brief, earth-shattering moment, the two titanic pressures—darkness and light—pushed against each other with such violent velocity that the fabric of space simply stopped resisting.
The deafening roar of the void-reapers, the screaming winds, the clash of weapons—everything ceased. A strange, eerie vacuum of absolute silence swallowed the entire Origin Point.
And then, from the fractured, bleeding sky above, the first drop of water fell.
*Plop.*
A single, crystal-clear raindrop landed on the shattered obsidian floor. It was followed by another, and another, until a sudden, heavy downpour of cool, refreshing rain began to wash over the apocalyptic battlefield. The water hissed as it hit the remnants of the dark prana, turning to steam.
Min-jae drew his ancient sword from the spatial rift, the blade humming with a deadly, focused white light.
Across from him, Marcus gripped his reality-scythe, his crimson eyes narrowing into lethal slits.
"End of talk," Marcus whispered.
They moved.
Their speed defied the laws of physics entirely—they was much faster that the speed of light is nothing in front of them. To the watching gods, children, and queens, there was no movement, only sudden, violent afterimages tearing across the dimension.
Every time their blades collided, reality-shattering shockwaves tore through the terrain. Mountain ranges in the distance were instantly leveled into dust; planets suspended in the dimensional backdrop were split clean in half and detonated into brilliant supernovas of fire and debris.
"Is that all the True God can muster?!" Marcus laughed maniacally as they traded blows, their speeds blurring into a single golden-and-black storm.
"Catch up!" Min-jae yelled back.
Min-jae vanished, reappearing in a flash of spatial-step, and unleashed his ultimate technique—The Zenith’s Judgement. A multi-layered web of golden light and temporal-stasis lines locked around Marcus, freezing his movements for a fraction of a second.
Min-jae brought his ancient sword down in a devastating arc.
Marcus shattered the starlight-stasis with a burst of pure entropy, parrying the blow at the last microsecond, but the kinetic fallout sent both of them spiraling upward, tearing completely through the upper atmosphere and bursting directly into the airless expanse of deep space.
In the cold expanse of the cosmos, framed by dying galaxies and burning nebulas, the two titans continued their war of destruction. Stars cracked and shattered like glass merely from the wake of their spiritual pressure.
Min-jae channeled his martial mastery, combining spatial folds, kinetic wave-projections, and divine sword-arts into a continuous, fluid onslaught. Every technique was executed with absolute, flawless precision.
Marcus blocked and countered with terrifying, effortless ease. He swung his scythe, catching Min-jae’s blade and sliding close, his crimson eyes locking onto Min-jae’s with a cold, condescending smirk.
"Your techniques are brilliant, child," Marcus rumbled, his voice echoing directly in Min-jae’s mind. "Your power is boundless. Your family is a masterpiece. But..."
Marcus channeled a massive surge of dark-matter energy through his scythe, shoving Min-jae backward with enough force to send him crashing through three massive asteroid belts.
"...you still lack experience," Marcus mocked, stepping through space to appear directly above Min-jae, bringing his scythe down in a crushing vertical axe-handle blow. "You’ve only existed for a blink of cosmic history. I fought in the wars that birthed the stars you love so much. You cannot out-fight a legacy of pure ruin!"
Min-jae caught the scythe with his ancient sword just in time, but the immense downward force cracked the space beneath his boots, forcing him to drop to one knee in the vacuum of space. He gritted his teeth, his golden eyes flaring as he pushed back against the crushing weight.
Down on the surface of the Origin Point, the foreign gods, the twenty children, and the twelve queens watched the celestial spectacle unfolding above them. The sky was literally tearing apart, painted in strokes of blinding gold and pitch-black darkness.
Kaelen, the ancient solar successor, swallowed hard, trembling visibly as he looked up. "They... they are fighting at a level that transcends divinity. If any of us went up there... we wouldn’t even survive the atmospheric backwash. We would vaporize instantly."
"They are fighting for the fate of everything," Azshara said quietly, her crimson eyes fixed unflinchingly on the glowing golden speck in the distant cosmos. She rested her hand on her blade, her voice steady and absolute. "And Min-jae doesn’t lose. He’s never lost."
