Chapter 318: Chapter 9: Transaction

"This must be the supervisor’s office, right?" a woman’s voice asked in the empty corridor.

"This should be it," a man’s voice replied.

The speakers were Lin Yu and Li Xintong. They had extracted the location of the base supervisor’s office from a Lizard-man and had followed his description here.

Lin Yu remained silent. The sense of danger from the Lizard-man didn’t diminish—it grew stronger. According to the World Tree’s analysis, the energy within the Lizard-man’s body was becoming scorching hot and active.

In one of the flower pots, a colorful mushroom shot up, then burst with a loud POP, filling the entire room with a colorful Spore Mist.

"COUGH, COUGH~ What is this? Come out! I know you’re in here!"

"Might I ask about your technology for creating Artificial Spiritual Crystals?" From within the colorful Spore Mist, Lin Yu’s figure materialized beside the Lizard-man, his inquiry polite.

The colorful mist in the room was incinerated, turning into motes of flying ash that drifted to the ground like dying embers.

The Big-Mouthed Flowers were also set ablaze, turning into several living torches, leaving only a few strands of vine writhing on the floor.

"Come on out!" The Lizard-man stomped on a vine, grinding it under his foot as he shouted toward the only undamaged corner of the room.

"Heh! I knew you were tough, but I didn’t expect you to be *this* tough!"

Lin Yu’s figure emerged from the corner. He was protected by a thin Spiritual Shield; the flames hadn’t harmed him in the slightest.

"Very good. Now, we can talk. You want the technology, so tell me what you have to exchange for it." Seeing Lin Yu reveal his true form, the Lizard-man repeated his question. It was clear he was still quite willing to trade away the manufacturing technology for the Artificial Spirit Crystals.
