By following the Technology Tree’s requirements and researching subsequent technologies, he could unlock further advancements related to Spiritual Crystal Stones, such as Compressed Spiritual Crystal Stones, Mid-Level Spiritual Crystal Stones, and the Spiritual Crystal Stone Engine.

This solved his domain’s short-term energy needs for developing Spiritual Technology. Compared to the Energy Gathering Arrays from his Rune Arrays, this new Spiritual Engine could provide more powerful and efficient Spiritual Energy, though at the cost of consuming a certain number of Spiritual Crystal Stones.

On the third day, Lin Yu was woken by a knock on his door.

"What is it?" He was slightly exhausted from staying up for two nights in a row poring over the data.

"I think something’s happened in Black Salt City." Li Hua’s voice came from outside the door, sounding agitated.

Lin Yu rubbed his bleary eyes, yawned, put on his clothes and gear, then opened the door and stepped out.

Li Hua and Li Xintong were already waiting for him outside.

"What’s wrong?"

Lin Yu was confused. "What does that have to do with us? Isn’t that a job for the Imperial Inquisition?"

"Have you forgotten how the Inquisition operates?" Li Hua asked, his voice tinged with agitation.

"You mean how they purge entire family lines? They wipe out anyone connected to the cult. That still has nothing to do with us, right?"

"It might not have anything to do with you, but my family lives here, and we still have a few relatives in the city." Li Hua looked in the direction of Black Salt City, his voice filled with worry. "I have no idea how they’re doing. I’ve sent messages, but no one’s replying. No one’s answering their phones either."

"Besides, doesn’t ’Eye of the Celestial God’ sound familiar?"

"Doesn’t ring a bell. I’ve never heard of it."

"The Eye of the Celestial God. Eye! Eye Demon!"

"Ohh—you’re saying..."

"Exactly. It has to be connected to the Eye Demons."
