Global PvP Tower: I Can Infinitely Merge My Units
Chapter 33: Monolith’s ChallengeThe base didn’t have much left worth digging through once the fighting stopped, but what Alice had actually been wearing turned out to be worth more than everything else combined.
```
[ Aquabless Necklace (Legendary) ]
Increases effectiveness of Water-type skills by 30%.
```
```
[ Ironthorn Breastplate (Epic) ]
+15 Constitution. +10% damage reduction.
```
```
[ Bramblegrip Boots (Rare) ]
+10 Constitution. Improved footing on uneven or hostile terrain.
```
Logan pocketed all three along with a heap of loose materials scavenged from what was left of the storage rooms, then pulled up something he’d been putting off for a while now.
The Overall Score Leaderboard. He’d waited long enough.
```
[ Overall Score Leaderboard ]
Rank 1 | L | 6,490
Rank 2 | Uorop | 4,930
Rank 3 | Alice | 3,185
Rank 4 | Kaelen | 2,940
Rank 5 | Draven | 2,810
```
First place. By a comfortable margin, too, over a thousand points clear of whoever this Uorop was.
His eyes caught on one name further down the list before he could stop them scrolling.
Rank 38. Elena.
He looked at it a second longer than he meant to, then closed the thought along with the window.
’I have to expand the lead.’
He turned toward the horizon, the third dagger’s pull already tugging him onward. Three hundred twenty-nine kilometers, the map told him. Almost four hours of walking, with however many fights decided to get in the way along the route.
He was a long way from his own walls now, further than he’d ever pushed before, and he didn’t look back once.
The four hours went about how the rest of this trip had gone. Monsters found them, died fast, and the group kept moving.
The dagger’s pull finally settled on something that wasn’t a dungeon, wasn’t a boss, and wasn’t a base. Just a single black monolith standing alone in the middle of an empty field, twice Logan’s height and carved with lines that didn’t match any language he recognized.
```
[ Challenge Monolith ]
Unleash one instance of attack on the Monolith that deals 10,000 damage to clear the challenge and acquire the rewards.
```
"Alright." Logan looked over the five of them left. "Let’s see what we’ve got. One at a time."
Thistle went first, roots spearing out of the ground and slamming into the stone with everything Bloomstrike had.
```
[ Damage dealt: 6,340 ]
```
Not even close.
Maw went next, jaws closing around the monolith’s edge and tearing at it with Gulf Bite.
```
[ Damage dealt: 6,890 ]
```
Better. Still not enough.
Zephyr dove out of the sky, Windrend Dive driving her full weight into the stone.
```
[ Damage dealt: 7,120 ]
```
Tide sank into the ground around the monolith’s base and let Crushing Depths do its work.
```
[ Damage dealt: 7,540 ]
```
Nova stepped up last, both hands raised, light gathering thick before Supernova Pulse tore out of him in one concentrated burst.
```
[ Damage dealt: 8,205 ]
```
Closest yet. Still not enough.
Logan stared at the number, turning the problem over in his head.
’None of them alone are getting there. But damage doesn’t have to come from one source acting by itself.’
He thought back to every guide he’d ever read about force and motion, the ones that always made a point of explaining why speed mattered more than weight in almost every calculation that counted. Force scaled with velocity squared, not velocity alone. Stack enough acceleration behind enough mass, and the number climbed a lot faster than adding five separate attacks side by side ever would.
’If I stack everyone’s power into a single strike instead of five different ones, the numbers won’t just add up. They’ll multiply.’
"New plan." Logan looked at each of them in turn. "One attack. All of you, together."
He laid it out fast. Thistle would grow the payload itself, something solid enough to survive what was about to happen to it. Maw would provide the first burst of force behind it. Zephyr would carry it the rest of the way, wind stacking speed on top of speed until it was moving faster than anything thrown by hand had any right to move. Tide would add weight to it mid-flight, and Nova would load the tip with everything Starfeeder had banked up so far, ready to go off on impact.
Thistle drove a spear of hardened root straight up out of the ground, thick as a tree trunk and twice as long as Logan was tall.
Maw closed his jaws around the base of it and threw his whole head forward, launching the spear off the ground with the same force that had once folded a Legendary-rank Paladin in half.
Zephyr caught it mid-air, wind wrapping tight around the shaft, driving it forward harder and faster with every second that passed.
Tide’s weight settled into it as it flew, Crushing Depths pouring extra mass into something that already had more speed behind it than it should have been able to carry.
Nova met it at the very end, both hands slamming against the spearhead as it passed, dumping every scrap of banked starlight into the tip in one final surge.
The spear hit the monolith with a sound that didn’t belong in the same world as the five smaller hits before it.
```
[ Damage dealt: 14,780 ]
[ Challenge Cleared. ]
```
The monolith cracked straight down the middle, light spilling out of the seam before the whole thing crumbled into rubble.
Sitting in the wreckage, exactly where the arrow had promised it would be, was the third dagger.
```
[ You have acquired an Event Item. A third dagger matching Zalkur’s Dagger. 3 of 4 collected. ]
```
Logan picked it up, already feeling the familiar cold settle into his fingers.
’Three down. One more.’
He looked over the five of them, still catching their breath from a throw that had taken everything they had, and let himself grin for the first time in a while.
’Kinetic principles. Guess all that reading finally paid off.’
"Let’s rest a bit and recover. I am also hungry now, so we gotta eat first."
Fortunately, Logan had brought some of Martha’s dishes for the journey, and he still had one batch left.
He looked at his Tower Points as well.
[ 49,490 Tower Points. ]
’I’m halfway through it. Alice gave me a good sum on her elimination. She must have gathered a lot, but couldn’t spend them.’
Before she could spend them at her base, Logan had already arrived and wrecked her base.
’Alright. Once I finished collecting the fourth dagger, I should return to base via a different route and farm Tower Points, and then summon the Champion Field Boss near my base.’
Champion Field Boss was going to be more powerful than anything he had faced in this match. His Mythic summons could die, so it was better that all remaining 12 Mythics joined for this boss fight.
