The fourth arrow pulled them somewhere different this time, away from anything that looked like a dungeon, a boss, or open ground worth fighting on.

It led them underground, down a sloped passage carved so deep into the earth that the last of the daylight gave out completely within the first hundred meters.

```
[ The Sunken Labyrinth ]
Trapped corridors ahead. Proceed with caution.
```

The first stretch looked ordinary enough, smooth stone underfoot, walls close on both sides. Logan had taken maybe ten steps into it before the floor ahead of Thistle simply wasn’t there anymore, a wide section dropping away into black nothing with a sound like the whole world exhaling.

"Careful." Logan threw a hand up, stopping the rest of them before anyone else got close to the edge. "Thistle, can you feel what’s under there?"

Thistle knelt at the lip of the gap and pressed both palms flat against the stone floor.

Root Network!

Roots spread out from his hands in every direction, threading through cracks in the stone too fine for Logan to even see. Thistle’s expression went distant for a second while he read whatever they told him.

"Solid ground on the far side. Nothing holding this middle section up at all. It’s built to drop." He frowned. "I can bridge it, but it won’t hold for long."

Roots erupted from the walls on both sides of the gap and wove together into a narrow bridge, and the group crossed it at a dead run, the whole structure creaking and sagging further with every set of footsteps. The last root gave way the instant Zephyr’s feet cleared the far edge, the bridge collapsing into the dark below with nothing left to show it had ever existed.

The next stretch of corridor was lined with floor tiles laid in an uneven pattern, some sitting slightly higher than others, all of them polished smooth from wear despite how far underground they were.

Logan stopped the group again before anyone stepped onto the first one.

"Something’s wrong with this floor."

Tide crouched at the edge of the tiled section, one hand pressed flat against the nearest stone.

"Pressure plates. Wrong weight on the wrong tile, and something under the floor answers for it." He was quiet for a moment, reading whatever the stone told him. "I can feel the pattern, though. Follow exactly where I step."

Tide picked his way across the tiles one at a time, weight shifting with careful precision. Logan followed close behind him, boots landing exactly where Tide’s had a heartbeat earlier, the rest of the group falling in single file behind.

His foot caught the edge of one tile wrong two-thirds of the way across, weight shifting just enough to worry him.

The grinding started before he’d even fully recovered his balance, stone shifting somewhere beneath the floor like something enormous had just woken up down there.

"Move!"

They cleared the last few tiles at a dead run and didn’t look back until the grinding stopped on its own, whatever had almost triggered deciding not to follow through after all.

The corridor opened into a wide chamber next, and the moment the last of them stepped inside, every wall lit up at once, blinding white light flooding the space from a hundred small fixtures set into the stone.

Logan threw an arm up over his eyes, useless against light that seemed to come from every direction at once.

"Nova!"

Nova didn’t flinch. Starfeeder pulled every bit of that light toward him instead, the glow along his own chest climbing brighter and brighter as the room around them dimmed back down to something the rest of them could actually see through.

"Feels nice, actually." He sounded almost cheerful about it, glow still banked bright behind his ribs. "Whatever this was built to blind, it wasn’t built for something that eats light for breakfast."

The chamber let out into total darkness on the other side, a passage so black that even Nova’s leftover glow didn’t reach more than a few feet into it. The walls closed in tighter here too, barely wide enough for two people to walk shoulder to shoulder.

"Can’t see a thing." Logan kept one hand on the wall just to have something to orient by. "Maw, you’re up."

Maw’s nose lifted, nostrils flaring wide in the dark.

"Air’s moving that way." He nodded toward a direction Logan couldn’t even confirm was a direction at all. "And something ahead smells old. Real old. That’s probably where we’re headed."

He led the way through the dark by scent alone, calling out quiet corrections whenever the passage forked, and the rest of them followed close enough to keep a hand on whoever walked in front. The dark went on longer than felt reasonable, but Maw never once hesitated on which way to turn.

Daylight, or something close enough to pass for it, returned all at once as the passage finally opened into a massive shaft climbing straight up into the dark overhead. Wind screamed down through it hard enough to nearly take Logan off his feet the second he cleared the tunnel mouth.

"That’s not natural wind." Zephyr was already rising to meet it, wind of her own gathering thick around both wings. "Something’s driving it on purpose. Feels like it wants us falling, not climbing."

Skydomain!

The whole shaft bent to her instead, the vicious downdraft twisting into something gentle enough to actually climb against. She held it steady the whole way up, the rest of the group climbing hand over hand through air that should have swept them straight back down to where they started.

The shaft opened out into a small round chamber at the top, empty except for a single stone pedestal at its center.

The fourth dagger rested on it, exactly where the arrow had promised it would be.

```
[ You have acquired an Event Item. The fourth dagger matching Zalkur’s Dagger. 4 of 4 collected. ]
[ The daggers resonate. A location has been marked on your map. ]
```

Logan picked it up, all four daggers together in his hand for the first time, and felt the cold from every one of them settle deep enough to reach his bones.

’Four down. Nothing left to collect.’

He looked at the new marker glowing steadily on his map, pulling at him the same way the first arrow ever had.

He didn’t move toward it. Not yet. He thought he would be able to summon the Champion Field Boss at any place he wished, but it seemed that wasn’t the case.

’Home first. Get everyone together. Then we go finish this properly.’

He looked over the five of them, dust and old stone still clinging to every one of them from the climb, and turned back the way they’d come.
