Global PvP Tower: I Can Infinitely Merge My Units
Chapter 42: Domination, EncounterThe second base didn’t last as long as the first.
Solveig put a Starfall Cataclysm through the main gate before the defenders even finished sounding an alarm, and Billy’s blades cleared the rest of the courtyard before the light from the impact fully faded. The player surrendered before Vex even had to move.
```
[ You have defeated a player. +4,120 Tower Points ]
```
They turned west after that, and the black mountain marking their real destination sat somewhere on the horizon by the time the first stray base came into view, tucked into a valley nobody had bothered hiding well.
This one had gotten lucky somewhere along the way, two Legendary-rank summons standing guard behind walls that looked otherwise unremarkable.
Zephyr’s Gravity Snare put both of them on the ground before they finished raising a weapon, and whatever they’d been counting on that luck for ended somewhere under Billy’s blades a few seconds later.
```
[ You have defeated a player. +6,780 Tower Points ]
```
The second base sat another hour out, three Legendary-rank summons this time, clearly someone who’d spent real Tower Points chasing good luck instead of a solid build.
None of it mattered. Solveig walked through the first Legendary’s opening attack without slowing down, Vex unraveled the second from the inside before it finished registering the fight had started, and Zephyr’s claimed sky turned the third’s own charge into a fall that ended somewhere in the mud below.
```
[ You have defeated a player. +7,450 Tower Points ]
```
The western mountain rose ahead of them not long after, black stone against a grey sky, a twin to the one that had cost Logan a friend already.
The climb went faster this time, the horde of chimera waiting on the lower slopes falling to a fraction of the force that had cleared the first mountain’s equivalent wave. By the time they reached the peak, the sun had barely moved.
Something waited at the summit that made the ground itself groan under its own weight.
A titan of black iron and stone, easily twenty meters at the shoulder, arms ending in fists the size of small houses. Cracks ran across its whole surface, the same faint gold light bleeding out of them that Akuvin’s armor had carried, except here it pulsed slow and steady, like something breathing.
```
[ Gorvakh, the Undying Bulwark ]
Rank: Special
Attack: 220
Speed: 100
Constitution: 700
Arcane: 400
HP: 70,000/70,000
MP: 40,000/40,000
```
"Buffs first. All of them." Logan didn’t wait for Gorvakh to move. "Everyone who can stack something, stack it now."
Battle Hymn!
Starward Vigil!
Attack and Speed surged across the whole formation at once, muscle and bone humming under two different versions of the same promise, every strike about to land harder and faster than it had any right to.
Vital Bloom!
Mercy’s Touch!
Tidal Blessing!
Warm light closed the small cuts nobody had noticed carrying, a second wave of healing rolled through right behind it, and MP reserves climbed back toward full for anyone who’d spent heavily across the last two fights.
Bulwark Field!
Seraphic Chorus!
Dawnlight Ward!
Storm Ward!
Four different shields layered over each other at once, a dome of pale light forming the base of it, raw defense stacking on top, damage reduction settling over that, and resistance to whatever Gorvakh’s cracked armor could throw sealing the whole thing shut underneath.
Blooming Grace!
Luminous Aegis!
Nightbloom Veil!
Whatever lingering debuffs the mountain had left behind burned away in a wash of green light, footing turned sure under everyone at once, and the whole formation dimmed at the edges, harder to target cleanly in the fight about to start.
By the time the last buff settled, eleven different kinds of strength stood layered over a formation that had already been dangerous without any of it.
Gorvakh finally moved.
Both fists came down at once, a strike meant to flatten anything standing in the space between them.
Cataclysm Slam!
The ground split wide open under the impact, a shockwave rolling out that should have thrown the whole formation off its feet.
Bulwark Field ate most of it. What little got through barely registered.
Billy moved first, faster than he’d ever moved before with eleven buffs riding on top of his own stats.
Severed Spokes!
Blades detached and struck from six different angles at once, each one finding a crack already running through Gorvakh’s armor and driving it wider.
Solveig followed through the same openings, greatsword already burning.
Starfall Cataclysm!
Light tore down through the widened cracks and out the other side, and a chunk of Gorvakh’s shoulder came apart in the wake of it.
Vex found the shadow at Gorvakh’s feet and stepped through it like a door.
Reaper’s Black Flame!
Black fire opened up from the inside of a knee joint that had never expected an attack to come from there, and the whole leg buckled under the weight it could no longer properly carry.
Zephyr dropped out of the sky she’d already claimed, wind gathering into something sharp enough to cut stone.
Windrend Dive!
The strike caught Gorvakh across the back of its skull, and whatever was left of its balance went with it.
It swung one massive fist in a last wide arc, gold light bleeding harder from every crack across its frame.
Ruinous Backhand!
Billy’s blades caught the strike before it landed, six edges biting into a single fist and holding it in place just long enough for Solveig to finish the job.
Dawnbreaker Zenith!
The fist came apart around Solveig’s blade, and the crack running through it spread the rest of the way across Gorvakh’s whole body in a single breath. Gold light poured out of every seam at once, and the titan came down in pieces, the ground shaking with the weight of its own collapse.
```
[ Gorvakh, the Undying Bulwark - defeated ]
```
The relic sat waiting in the rubble, same as the last one had, and Logan picked it up without any of the party even needing to catch their breath first.
```
[ Dragwir Relic (2 of 4) acquired. ]
```
’Two down.’
He looked over the eleven buffs still humming faintly across the group, not one of them scratched, and let himself actually enjoy the feeling for once.
The feeling that he was really, totally, completely invincible in this match from hereon.
...
8 hours later.
Somewhere in the battlefield world, five players had gathered, deciding to group together until they eliminated the rest of the players. They were classmates, and one of them was Elena.
"What’s going on? This player L is racking in score crazily!"
"Yeah, and Marcus somehow got eliminated even with his Legendary summon advantage, Legendary class, and Epic talent."
The four players, one girl and three boys, all looked at Elena.
"What? He must have gotten into trouble and made a mistake. It’s our first match, after all." Elena snorted. "Let’s just think about what to do, because the way this player L is racking in points, he must be very powerful."
"I thought Player Uorop would catch up, but now there’s a gap of over 15000 points. Player L just got 5000 points fifteen minutes ago."
"Yeah, what exactly is he doing to get so many points at once?"
"Completing quests, defeating bosses, and clearing challenges- all those things reward score."
"I tried a challenge of dealing 10,000 damage with one attack. I failed hard. Barely reached 7000 with all tricks I could muster."
As this group of players was gathered on an open cleared ground at a camp and a merchant not too far, they were obviously visible from the sky.
It was night, but their campfire was clearly visible.
At least, it was clearly visible to Logan, who was flying overhead.
’Five players gathered together? Nice.’
He couldn’t see that Elena was one of them since he was far too high up in the sky to take a look at her face or initiate an inspection window.
But he would find out soon.
"Alright, folks. Let’s drop some attacks around them. Warning shots. I don’t want to sneak-kill players whom I don’t even know."
It would be a different matter if he had enmity towards a player and wanted him dead, but killing players indiscriminately just felt wrong to him.
