Global Shelter Game

Chapter 241 - 209: Separate Missions

Chapter 241: Chapter 209: Separate Missions

The three teams quickly set about their respective missions.

After some brief preparations, the three teams each set off on their journeys.

Bena’s team headed for a nearby shelter to negotiate a trade.

The team led by Zhou Mei and Leo began surveying the surrounding area, searching for potential resource points.

Meanwhile, Lin Hao and Neil’s team started studying the habits of special mutated creatures to formulate a hunting plan.

Bena’s team set out under the first rays of the morning sun.

They carried carefully selected supplies, including high-efficacy medicine produced in their shelter and a portion of their precious energy resources.

Everyone on the team knew what this trade meant for the shelter, so their faces were etched with a mix of solemnity and anticipation.

After trekking for several hours, they finally reached their destination—a settlement called Crescent Island.

The shelter was situated on relatively fertile land, surrounded by abundant agricultural resources. Therefore, the supplies they desperately needed were medicine and energy.

Bena took a deep breath, adjusted his gear, and then led his team toward the gate of the Crescent Island shelter.

The guards at the gate eyed the group of uninvited guests warily, but their attitude visibly softened when they saw the trade banner in Bena’s hands.

"We are envoys from our shelter and wish to discuss a trade with your leader," Bena explained politely to the guards.

The guards nodded, reported the situation briefly over their walkie-talkies, and then let Bena’s team through.

They were led to the shelter’s trading market, where many merchants and traders from different shelters had already gathered.

In the trading market, Bena quickly spotted the leader of the Crescent Island shelter, a middle-aged man named Sam.

Sam looked shrewd and capable and showed great interest in the medicine and energy Bena had brought.

"This medicine and energy are exactly what our shelter desperately needs," Sam said as he inspected the goods carefully. "If the price is right, we would be very willing to establish a long-term trade relationship with you."

Bena smiled faintly. He knew there was a high chance this trade would succeed.

"Our shelter also hopes to establish a stable partnership with Crescent Island. We can offer favorable prices and a steady supply."

After a round of friendly negotiations, the two sides finally reached a trade agreement.

Bena successfully traded the medicine and energy for a large quantity of food and raw materials, securing valuable resources for his shelter’s development.

Meanwhile, the team led by Zhou Mei and Leo was busy with their resource survey.

Zhou Mei and Leo stood at the entrance of a valley, an untapped mineral deposit stretching out before them. Sunlight filtered through the treetops, dappling their determined faces. They knew the discovery of this mining site would be a major turning point for the shelter.

"Where do we start?" Leo asked, his gaze drifting across the valley as if searching for the best entry point.

Zhou Mei took out a map and surveying equipment, analyzing them carefully. "According to our survey results, the vein on the eastern side of the valley is the richest. We should start there."

They started heading toward the eastern side of the valley, with the team’s engineers and geology experts following close behind to provide their professional opinions and advice. After pushing through dense thickets of shrubs, they finally arrived at the location of the mineral vein.

"Look at the luster on this ore. It should be high-grade iron ore," an engineer said, picking up a rock. He chipped off a piece with his hammer and examined it closely.

"Excellent. We’ll start digging here and establish the first mining point," Zhou Mei said, pointing to a spot. "We need to build a temporary work platform and install the mining equipment."

Leo immediately started organizing the personnel. "You lot, go chop down some trees and build the workbenches. The rest of you are in charge of installing the mining drills and conveyor belts."

Following Leo’s orders, the team members sprang into action. Some began felling nearby trees, while others took out tools and equipment from their supplies and started building the necessary mining infrastructure.

A few days later, the mining site had begun to take shape. The mining drills roared as they excavated ore from the mountainside, and conveyor belts carried a continuous stream of ore to the processing area.

"We need more people to operate the equipment and to ensure the ore gets transported," Zhou Mei said to Leo.

Leo nodded. "I’ll head back to the shelter right away to request reinforcements. You supervise the mining operation here."

In the days after Leo left, Zhou Mei led the mining team and continued the work. They started working in shifts, ensuring the mining drills operated twenty-four hours a day without stopping.

When Leo returned with reinforcements, the mining site’s efficiency had already improved significantly. More miners joined the ranks, and the excavation and transportation of ore became much more orderly.

"Good work, Zhou Mei," Leo said, looking at the bustling mining site.

Zhou Mei wiped the sweat from her brow and replied with a smile, "This is everyone’s achievement. Seeing all this ore being mined, I believe the shelter’s future will be even brighter."

As the mining operation progressed, the shelter’s resource reserves grew daily. After the ore was transported back to the shelter, some of it was used to manufacture stronger building materials, while the rest was forged into weapons and tools.
