Rushing through the narrow path among the massive rocks, three people draped in black robes moved forward with hurried steps.

Their robes fluttered behind them as they pushed themselves to maintain their pace, their breathing slightly heavier after the frantic escape.

Frequently, they looked over their shoulders as if they were being pursued.

"Do you think those stones would stop them?" the thin man among them asked, glancing nervously over his shoulder once again.

"Of course. Do you think it is easy to destroy those stones?" the second man responded, his voice filled with confidence as he tried to reassure himself.

Listening to their conversation, the only woman among them finally spoke.

"Why do you care whether they can pass through the stones or not?"

She did not even bother looking behind her.

"They have already served their purpose, and whether they live or die has nothing to do with us."

Her tone remained completely flat, as if she were discussing insignificant objects rather than the lives of the people they had abandoned.

The two men looked at each other before slowly nodding.

"You’re right. Now that we’re gone, what they do has nothing to do with us anymore," the thin man responded.

With that, the trio fell silent once again.

They continued rushing through the rocky path, their footsteps echoing faintly between the massive rocks surrounding them.

Each of them became lost in their own thoughts, carefully considering what would happen once they reached the other side.

Although they had all worked together and successfully escaped, none of them was foolish enough to believe they could truly trust one another.

They understood each other far too well.

Every person among them was selfish enough to sacrifice another if doing so meant preserving their own life.

Now that they had abandoned all the members of the guild just to escape, they knew that one of them would eventually have to take the fall.

Therefore, each of them was already calculating how to push the blame onto someone else.

Their minds silently considered every possible explanation they could give.

As for their Holy Son pardoning them for their selfishness, that was nothing more than a pipe dream.

They knew exactly how brutal and merciless he could be.

If he had been present inside their hideout, he would never have hesitated to use them for one of his insane experiments.

There were even rumors that he had personally killed members of the guild simply to complete one of his plans.

The title of Holy Son had nothing to do with being holy. In reality, he was nothing but an incarnation of the devil wearing a sacred title.

Remembering that, the three directors could not help but feel a chill running through their bodies.

They had escaped the Grim Reaper.

They still had to return to the Holy Son. And that thought alone was enough to make their hearts feel heavy.

Now that the fate of the remaining members of the guild was unknown, their own lives were hanging by a thread.

The three continued forward without speaking, each secretly considering how to protect themselves.

"I think we have arrived," she said, bringing the other two out of their thoughts.

The two men immediately raised their heads.

Their eyes narrowed as they stared ahead.

Ahead of them were nothing but stones of the same size, structure, and height.

They were completely identical.

From the top of the rocky path, the endless stones stretched as far as the eye could see, resembling a gigantic maze without any visible beginning or end.

The sight alone made the three directors feel a strange pressure settling over their hearts.

Without hesitation, the woman took an old parchment from her inventory.

She carefully unfolded it and studied the map for several seconds.

"Follow me."

With that, she stepped forward and began walking carefully.

Her gaze constantly wandered across the identical stones as she tried to match their positions with the markings on the parchment.

Despite her calm expression, she could not completely hide the tension in her eyes.

Following the map, she took a left turn and continued deeper into the endless maze while the two men followed closely behind her.

To be safe, each of them had already unsheathed their weapons.

Their fingers remained tightly wrapped around their weapons as their hearts pounded heavily against their chests.

The oppressive atmosphere seemed to press against their backs, creating an uncomfortable sensation that made their skin crawl.

The stones might have looked harmless and empty, but they knew better.

This place was anything but ordinary.

As they ventured deeper, the ground beneath their feet slowly began to change.

Previously, the surface had been covered by small, hard stones that resembled countless grains scattered across the ground.

But now, those stones gradually disappeared.

They were replaced by desert sand.

Crimson Dune sand, to be precise.

The bloody red sand stretched between the massive stone formations, its color almost appearing unnatural beneath the dim light.

It seemed to stare directly back at them, as though silently mocking them for what was about to happen.

The three directors instinctively became even more cautious.

Crack!

Crack!

Suddenly, one of them stepped on something beneath the sand. The sharp cracking sound echoed loudly through the otherwise silent surroundings.

Instantly, all three froze.

Their bodies became rigid.

Cold sweat slowly dripped down their cheeks as their eyes widened.

No one moved.

No one dared to breathe too loudly.

Their muscles stiffened as they waited for something to emerge from beneath the sand.

The silence that followed felt almost unbearable.

One second passed.

Then another.

Yet nothing happened.

After what seemed like an eternity, the woman finally spoke in a cold whisper.

"Watch your steps."

The thin man reluctantly nodded.

’How am I supposed to know what lies beneath the sand?’

He complained inwardly, his eyes nervously scanning the ground ahead.

He carefully lifted each foot before placing it down, terrified that another careless step might trigger something hidden beneath the crimson sand.

Slowly, the group continued forward.

Their hearts continued pounding heavily against their chests as every step felt like they were walking toward an unseen force.

The woman remained at the front.

Her eyes were fixed intensely on the old map in her hands.

She repeatedly compared the markings with the surrounding stone formations, trying to determine the safest route through the endless maze.

Then her expression suddenly changed.

Her teeth clenched.

Whoosh!

Without saying a single word, she suddenly bolted forward at her maximum speed.

"T-This..."

The two men were stunned for a fraction of a second. Then they immediately realized something was wrong.

"Damn!"

They raced after her, desperately trying to close the distance.

’Dammit, bitch!’

Both men cursed inwardly as they pushed their bodies to the limit. They had no idea what she had seen on the map, but they knew better than to remain behind.

If she had suddenly accelerated like that, there had to be a reason.

Just as they were about to close the distance, the woman suddenly ducked.

Whoosh!

Something tore through the air above her head. The two men had barely enough time to react.

Boom!

"Noooooo!"
