Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons
Chapter 552: [Bonus - ] He’s BackChapter 552: [Bonus Chapter] He’s Back
Thoren did not dwell on what had caused the beast tide any longer.
Whatever the reason was, he would find out eventually. Right now, thousands of humans were fighting for their lives, and the defensive line of Suncrest City was already on the verge of collapsing.
So standing around and trying to piece together the mystery while people were being devoured before his eyes was nothing but a waste of time.
Without hesitation, Thoren raised his hand and four figures suddenly appeared beside him.
They were ordinary undead servants, each standing around two meters tall.
Two carried long swords while the other two wielded thick spears, their bodies radiating the cold aura unique to the undead.
Their levels were nothing impressive by Thoren’s current standard.
Level 20 and Level 21.
In another situation, such strength would barely be worth mentioning. But right now, it was enough.
Thoren glanced toward the endless beast tide.
To the human soldiers desperately fighting against the creatures, these beasts looked terrifying, but to Thoren, they were nothing more than ordinary animals that happened to become stronger after being exposed to mana.
"Kill." He gave the mental command and the four undead moved.
At first, nobody noticed them.
The soldiers were too busy fighting for their lives, while the beasts were completely focused on the humans on the defense wall.
The four undead simply walked into the chaotic battlefield without attracting any attention.
Boom!
Suddenly, the ground shook vehemently. One of the undead swordsmen swung his sword horizontally.
The massive blade tore through the air with so such force that many beasts in front of him were struck simultaneously.
Their bodies were thrown backward like broken puppets before crashing into the creatures behind them.
Another undead moved immediately.
Whoosh!
Its spear thrust forward.
Bang!
The spear pierced straight through the skull of a massive beast and continued forward, carrying the corpse several meters before the undead soldier violently pulled the weapon backward and allowed the lifeless body to fall.
As for the third undead, it stepped forward and swing it sword.
Boom!
A massive beast attempting to pounce on it was split from shoulder to abdomen, blood spraying across the ground as its enormous body collapsed.
Then the fourth undead thrust its spear.
Bang!
The sound was like a thunderous clap and the impact sent a group of beasts flying. Instantly, the battlefield went silent for a brief moment.
Human soldiers stopped.
Beasts stopped.
Everyone turned toward the source of the disturbance.
Four undead stood within the beast tide with their bodies surrounded by blood.
Their weapons dripped crimson. And behind them were dozens of dead beasts scattered across the battlefield.
"What..." A soldier stared in disbelief.
"Where did those things come from?"
"How can they be that strong?"
Before anyone could process what they were seeing, the four undead moved again.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Their attacks continued without pause.
There was no hesitation.
No fear.
They simply charged deep into the beast tide..
Every time one of them swung a weapon, another group of beasts was thrown into the air, while those that managed to survive the initial strike were immediately finished by the next undead.
Unlike the human soldiers, the four undead did not need to worry about conserving stamina.
They did not need to breathe.
They did not need to rest.
They did not feel fear.
And most importantly, they did not care about the enormous number of enemies surrounding them.
They simply followed their master’s command.
Kill.
The beast tide that had overwhelmed humanity suddenly encountered something it could not understand.
The four undead pushed forward like bulldozers.
Suddenly, a massive horned beast charged toward one of them. The undead swordsman did not retreat but instead, it stepped forward instead.
Clank!
Its sword collided against the beast’s horn, and the enormous creature was forced backward by the impact.
Before it could recover, the undead rotated its body and brought the sword down.
Whoosh!
And the result, blood sprayed into the air.
Adamant on taking down the unknown creatures, another beast attempted to attack from behind.
The undead spear wielder turned without looking and struck.
Thud!
The spear pierced through the beast chest effortlessly as if it was nothing. Casually, the undead ripped the weapon free and immediately thrust again.
Thud!
Another beast died.
Then another.
Then another.
Immediately, the battlefield changed around them. Wherever they passed, the beast tide was torn apart, leaving behind a widening path filled with corpses, blood and broken limbs.
Human soldiers who had been fighting desperately only moments earlier could do nothing but stare.
One soldier lowered his weapon.
"Are they...really undead?"
Another soldier swallowed hard.
"I think so."
While the four undead servants tore through the beast tide, Thoren walked calmly behind them.
He did not rush as he did not need to.
The path before him was being cleared with every passing second.
His silver hair moved gently in the wind as he stepped across the blood-covered battlefield, his deep blue eyes sweeping across the surroundings while the chaos continued around him.
A beast suddenly broke through the line of undead and charged toward him.
Thoren didn’t even look at it when a sword strike flashed. The beast’s head separated from its body before it could reach him.
He continued walking, taking in everything around him.
Meanwhile, the defense wall main entrance had suffered tremendous damage with several defensive towers having collapsed.
The walls were covered in cracks.
Blood covered the soldiers stationed there from head to toe.
Some were missing limbs.
Some were lying motionless on the ground.
Others were still desperately fighting despite injuries that would have forced ordinary people to retreat long ago.
And standing directly behind the main gate was a middle-aged general.
His armor was almost completely covered in blood, most of which did not belong to him, while a deep wound stretched across his shoulder.
He held a weapon tightly in his hand, breathing heavily. Yet his eyes remained sharp as he watched the battlefield.
Then he saw the four undead and then he saw the silver-haired young man walking behind them.
His body froze.
For several seconds, the general simply stared. And then, the general’s lips slowly parted.
"He’s back..." His voice trembled slightly.
