On the thirteenth floor, inside one of the apartments, the second figure hid inside a narrow closet with his back pressed tightly against the wooden wall.

His body completely still as he held his breath and listened to the silence outside.

The apartment was dark.

He had deliberately chosen this place because it was unlikely that anyone would be inside, and after entering the building, he had made sure to erase every trace of his presence before hiding.

In his hand was a short spear, held closely against his body.

His fingers remained wrapped tightly around its shaft, ready to strike the moment someone discovered him.

’Is that monster gone?’

The thought appeared in his mind as he listened carefully.

There was nothing.

Not even the faint sound of movement from the hallway.

For several minutes, he remained inside the closet without moving, and gradually, the fear that had been gripping his chest began to weaken.

’After this mission, I must report to the leader to take him down.’

His grip tightened around the short spear.

’We can’t allow him to continue to exist, or else it might pose a major problem for our cause.’

The thought gave him something to hold onto.

Normally, fear would never have been enough to break his concentration, but Thoren was different.

The sheer pressure that had surrounded the man had already made it clear that he was dealing with an enemy far beyond what they had anticipated.

Still, he could not allow fear to control him. His mission was more important and their cause was even more important.

As long as he survived, he could report everything he had witnessed to the leader, and perhaps the organization would send someone capable of dealing with Thoren.

Inside the still and quiet atmosphere, the second figure became lost in his thoughts, and those thoughts slowly became his solace as he patiently waited for the danger outside to disappear.

He imagined leaving the building and returning to their hideout, reporting the incident to their leader and being rewarded.

Those thoughts helped him ignore the suffocating darkness surrounding him.

Suddenly, his heart skipped a beat and his entire body froze.

Something had changed.

He could not explain what it was, but the instinct he had developed through countless dangers in the abyss suddenly screamed at him that he was no longer alone.

Slowly, his eyes shifted toward the small gap beneath the closet door.

Nothing.

He found nothing.

And this made his breathing stop completely. He squinted his eyes and stared directly into the narrow space between the door

For several seconds, there was still nothing and then a shadow moved Instantly, his pupils contracted.

A strange sensation crawled across his skin as he slowly raised his gaze toward the closet door.

There, through the narrow opening between the wooden panels, he saw it.

A cloaked figure stood silently in the bedroom.

Its body was covered in dark robes, and beneath the hood was a face that seemed almost lifeless, with hollow sockets burning with eerily pale fire that appeared to be staring directly at him.

Seeing this, his mind went blank.

’How...’

Shock and confusion appeared in his mind as he stared at the undead Royalty Stonewall.

He had been completely certain that he had hidden himself.

He had not made a sound and had not left any trace.

Yet the undead had found him anyway.

The hollow flames inside its eye sockets remained fixed on the closet.

Watching the undead, the second figure’s fear vanished almost instantly, replaced by a surge of killing intent.

If the undead had found him, then there was no longer any point in hiding.

Since he could not escape, then he would fight.

His fingers tightened around the short spear, and without giving himself time to think, he kicked the closet door open and charged out.

The wooden door slammed against the wall.

Bang!

The short spear was already moving as he stepped forward, its sharp tip aimed directly at the undead’s chest.

Since he could not escape, he would make sure to bring his enemy down with him.

That was his plan.

He poured every ounce of strength into the attack, twisting his waist as he thrust the spear forward with enough force to pierce through the strongest awakener body.

The spear tore through the air.

Swoosh!

The undead Royalty Stonewall did not bother defending against the strike as the spear slammed directly into its body.

Bang!

The impact shook the room but the second figure’s eyes widened.

The spearhead had failed to penetrate it body.

Instead, the weapon bounced off the undead’s body with a metallic sound, forcing his arms backward from the impact.

"What..."

Before he could recover, the undead Royalty Stonewall moved.

Its black blade swung horizontally.

The blade simply traveled from one side to the other with overwhelming force.

Seeing this, the second figure tried to retreat but he was too slow.

Bang!

The blade passed through his waist.

For a brief moment, his body remained standing as though nothing had happened.

Then a thin line of blood appeared across his torso.

His eyes widened and his body separated into two equal parts.

Thud!

Both halves crashed onto the floor.

Blood splattered across the bedroom, staining the cold floor and the lower part of the closet.

The short spear slipped from his hand and landed beside him.

Instantly, the apartment regains its deadly still atmosphere.

The undead Royalty Stonewall stood motionless in the middle of the room, its black blade dripping with blood.

Whoosh!

Then, Thoren stepped into the room.

His expression remained calm as he looked at the corpse lying on the floor, and without saying anything, he raised the Vorlath Blood Compass.

The blood-red eye at its center was already wide open.

It stared directly at the corpse.

Then, once again, a red flash shot out from the Blood Compass.

The light struck the dead body and the crimson flame erupted across the corpse.

The flame consumed the body almost instantly, spreading over the blood-soaked clothes and flesh before swallowing everything in its path.
