Bang!
Loki exploded forward without warning, his body leaning into the attack as his spear shot toward Ka’z’s chest with enough force to pierce straight through an ordinary warrior.
Ka’z reacted immediately, twisting his body while bringing Ashin Grim across his front. The axe blade slammed against the spearhead and easily knocked the weapon upward, forcing Loki’s arm high above his head.
Ka’z did not waste the opening. He immediately rotated his wrists and skillfully spun the axe over his head, allowing the weapon to gather momentum before swinging it viciously toward Loki’s face. Loki’s eyes widened as the blue lightning covering Ashin Grim flashed across his vision, the blade passing only several inches from his face.
He leaned backward at the last possible moment, feeling the wind generated by the swing brush against his skin before the axe passed over him.
Using the momentum from his evasive movement, Loki pushed off the ground and performed several backflips, putting distance between himself and Ka’z before suddenly shooting toward the left.
His feet struck the ground repeatedly as he began running in a wide circle around Ka’z, changing his direction several times to prevent the kobold from predicting his next attack.
Ka’z’s eyes followed him closely, but unlike their first encounter, Loki’s movements no longer seemed as chaotic or impossibly fast. Every shift of his shoulders, adjustment of his feet, and movement of his spear became easier for Ka’z to understand.
The Combat Aid Module I continuously analyzed the information available to him, helping his mind process Loki’s movements and recognize patterns in his fighting style.
Ka’z could now see the rhythm behind Loki’s attacks rather than merely reacting to them.
Suddenly, Loki changed direction.
He shot forward from the side, his spear stabbing violently toward Ka’z’s ribs. Ka’z shifted his body to avoid the incoming weapon, but the moment the spear passed through his previous position, Loki used the momentum of his attack to launch himself high into the air.
His body continued climbing, propelled by a powerful burst of mana from his spear, until he was several meters above Ka’z. For a brief moment, Loki appeared suspended against the night sky, his spear pointed downward as the runes carved along its shaft began glowing with increasing intensity.
Ka’z’s eyes narrowed as the mana gathering around Loki was considerably stronger than before.
Seconds later, Loki plunged downward.
His spear stabbed toward the ground as his body began spinning, and a second rune on the weapon suddenly illuminated with violent force. Flames erupted around him, rapidly swallowing his entire body until Loki disappeared within a blazing vortex.
"TYRANT FLAMES!" Loki roared.
He transformed into a hurricane of fire, the flames spiraling violently around his spinning body as he descended from the heavens with murderous intent.
The sheer heat caused the air around him to distort, while the force of his descent sent dust and loose debris flying across the battlefield. To the goblins watching from within the earth cage, the attack looked like divine judgment descending upon their enemy.
Their fear was temporarily replaced by excitement as they began to believe that Loki may win this.
Ka’z did not dare waste time.
He immediately jumped sideways, spinning through the air as the blazing vortex tore past the position where he had stood moments earlier. Loki’s spear struck the ground with tremendous force.
Bang!
The earth beneath the impact collapsed inward, forming a deep depression as flames spread across the surrounding dirt. The force of the attack shook the ground beneath everyone’s feet, and several civilians inside the cage stumbled against one another as the earth trembled.
But Loki did not stop.
Even while his spear remained buried in the ground, he shifted his weight sharply to one side. The weapon bent under the pressure, and Loki used it like a spring, allowing the immense force stored within the spear to propel his body sideways. His feet left the ground as he was launched directly toward Ka’z, his blazing spear already positioned for another strike.
Ka’z barely had time to react. He raised Ashin Grim with both hands just as Loki arrived.
Bang!
The spear slammed into the axe with such force that Ka’z’s feet sank into the earth. His knees bent under the impact as the ground cracked around his boots, while the lightning running along Ashin Grim flickered violently from the collision. Ka’z’s arms trembled as he absorbed the force, his expression tightening with genuine surprise at the weight behind Loki’s attack.
Loki pressed harder.
His feet swung forward while he continued forcing the blazing spear downward against Ashin Grim, using his body weight and the weapon’s position as leverage. The flames surrounding his spear burned against Ka’z’s scales, while Loki’s muscles strained beneath his clothing as he attempted to overpower the younger kobold through sheer force.
Bang!
Ka’z was finally forced backward.
His feet scraped across the ground as Loki’s pressure sent him sliding several meters before he managed to regain his footing. Ka’z lowered his axe slightly, his chest tightening as he took a heavier breath. A pained expression briefly crossed his face as he looked at Loki. The attack had not pierced his scales, but the sheer force behind it had still managed to shake his body.
The goblins within the earth cage erupted into cheers.
Their voices echoed across the square as they watched Loki force Ka’z backward, while the remaining warriors standing nearby joined in, their fear momentarily replaced by renewed hope.
The cheers caused Mi’ya, Krov, and Drak to frown from their positions on the rooftops. Krov watched the exchange carefully, his eyes focused on the fluctuations of mana surrounding Loki’s body.
"He’s using that skill more often now to keep the pressure on Captain," Krov noticed, his expression becoming increasingly serious. "The intervals between the mana bursts are much shorter than usual. He’s bound to wear himself out."
Drak’s eyes remained fixed on the battlefield. Unlike Krov, he did not seem particularly concerned by Loki’s sudden offensive pressure. "It doesn’t matter now... He has gathered everything he needs."
Krov frowned before following Drak’s gaze downward and Mi’ya did the same. Only then did they notice what had been happening beneath their feet.
The entire battlefield was stained red.
Blood from the countless goblins killed during the battle had spread across the ground, flowing through the dirt in thin streams and slowly creeping toward Ka’z.
Almost every part of the battlefield was covered in blood, only small circle of untouched earth remained around Ka’z and Loki.
