God-Tier Sniper's Interstellar Execution

My Safehouse Came With Relationship Problems

Ten percent.

That was all the Basic Core Mending Elixir had managed to piece together.

Ten pathetic percent of a shattered mana core.

And then he went ahead and channeled the absolute, sky-rending power of the Orbital Strike Arrow.

It was complete suicide.

The newly welded fissures in his core were tearing wide open, screaming under the strain.

Right shoulder? Shattered.

He had forced the dislocation back into place earlier, but the violent recoil of the cosmic bow had completely crushed the bone. White-hot agony flared through his nerves, blinding his vision in flashes of static red.

"Kael!"

The heavy, metallic crash of a greatsword hitting the pavement echoed across the dead street.

Seraphina was moving before the dust even settled.

Her silver plate armor clattered loudly against the concrete as she sprinted toward him.

She slammed down onto her knees at his side, her trembling hands hovering over the shredded, bleeding mess of his shoulder.

"You tore the entire joint open!"

Her golden eyes vibrated with raw, frantic panic.

The composure of an S-Rank Paladin was completely gone.

"The muscle fibers are torn to shreds. Mana is spilling directly into your bloodstream. Kael, your body is going into severe toxic shock!"

"I've had worse," Kael grunted, trying to dig his left elbow into the dirt to push himself up.

His right arm was dead weight. It hung limply from his socket like a broken limb on a puppet.

"Shut up and hold still."

For the first time since he dragged her out of that cage, the authority of an elite Paladin bled through her trauma. Her voice carried a sharp, unyielding command.

She pressed her scarred, dirt-caked palms directly against the raw tissue of his shoulder.

She closed her eyes, her chest heaving with shallow, ragged breaths.

Deep within her chest, she reached down into the dark, violent golden aura that coiled around her soul like rusted chains.

Ten years.

For ten agonizing years, Marcus Thorne had forbidden her from healing a single soul.

He had forged her into nothing more than a weapon to break meat and spill blood.

He had tried to erase her nature. But her soul hadn't forgotten who she was.

"Light of the Aegis..." Seraphina whispered, her voice cracking under a wave of ten years' worth of buried grief. "...mend the broken."

A soft, faint golden light hummed to life beneath her hands.

It wasn't the dazzling, blinding holy splendor she once commanded as the Vanguard's proud sun.

It was dim, fragile, and flickering which was shadowed by a deep, tragic sadness.

Yet, as the warm radiance seeped beneath his skin, the agonizing fire in Kael's nerves began to quiet down.

He could literally feel it.

The shredded muscle strands pulled together, weaving themselves tight, while the splintered shoulder bones fused under the gentle, steady warmth of the holy magic.

Kael let out a long, shuddering breath, the grim tension finally easing from his locked jaw.

"Better?" Seraphina asked softly.

Her golden eyes searched his face, her eyelashes wet, while a fragile, hesitant smile touched the corner of her lips.

Before Kael could utter a single word, a suffocating wave of pure, rancid bloodlust smashed into the ruined intersection.

The ambient temperature plummeted instantly, frosting the shattered glass around them into ice.

Vespera was no longer leaning casually against the rusted bus.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

She was hovering mere inches away from their faces, her luminescent crimson eyes burning with a terrifying, unadulterated fury.

Her massive obsidian wings snapped wide, casting a heavy, suffocating shadow across the concrete.

THWIP.

Her slender tail, tipped with that razor-sharp, glowing pink heart-blade, cut through the frozen air and stopped mere millimeters from Seraphina's exposed throat.

"Get your glowing hands," Vespera hissed, her voice overlapping in a layered, demonic resonance heavy with possessive rage, "...off my property, angel."

Seraphina didn't even flinch.

Her golden eyes narrowed into sharp slits, her calloused hand dropping lower, fingertips brushing the cold hilt of her greatsword on the asphalt.

"He was bleeding to death, you absolute psycho," Seraphina spat back, her dark holy aura surging to form a defensive wall between them.

"I'm fixing him!"

"I am his sponsor!" Vespera snarled, her upper lip curling back to reveal glistening, dangerous fangs.

"His soul is bound to the Void! It belongs to me! If he breaks into pieces, I will reforge him in abyssal fire myself. He doesn't need your weak, pathetic light!"

"Try and stop me, demon," Seraphina growled, her knuckles turning white as her grip locked onto her sword.

Kael sat right at the epicenter of the golden holy magic and the suffocating demonic bloodlust.

He slowly raised his newly healed right arm, rotating his shoulder in a slow circle to test the socket.

Stiff. Sore as hell. But functional.

He reached up with two fingers and casually flicked Vespera's razor-sharp tail-blade away from Seraphina's throat.

"Both of you, back off."

His voice was bone-dry and completely flat, utterly unbothered by the fact that two catastrophic, high-tier entities were ready to tear the street apart right over his head.

He didn't have the time or energy to act as a babysitter for a traumatized, ex-Paladin and a dangerously territorial demon.

Gritting his teeth, Kael planted his boots and pushed himself straight up off the cracked asphalt.

"We need a safehouse," he said, his silver eyes sweeping across the ruined, quiet intersection.

His gaze locked onto a wide, decaying concrete staircase sinking down into the subterranean darkness.

It was a remnant from before the Merge, an abandoned subway entrance, half-buried under piles of rubble and rusted iron grates.

"Down there," Kael pointed toward the abyss.

"Clear the perimeter and sweep it for hostiles. I need ten minutes to get our defenses set up."

Seraphina shot the demon one last death glare before hauling her massive greatsword off the asphalt and marching toward the dark subway entrance, her heavy silver boots crunching loudly over shattered concrete.

Vespera drifted down to hover right beside Kael, crossing her pale arms across her chest with a pout that looked hilariously childish on an apocalyptic threat.

"She is utterly insufferable," Vespera whined, her crimson eyes flickering with irritation.

"Let me just eat her soul. Just a tiny, little bite."

"Touch her, and I void our contract," Kael snapped coldly, striding past the floating demon without giving her a second glance.

Vespera let out an annoyed huff, her physical form dissolving into a cloud of violet mist that sank directly into Kael's shadow.

Kael made his way down the cracked, moss-covered concrete stairs, stepping straight into the pitch-black void of the subterranean station.

Silence swallowed him whole.

The massive, tiled hall was entirely abandoned. Rotted turnstiles, crushed bench frames, and rusted ticket kiosks lay scattered across the dusty floor.

It was a solid spot for a choke point.

Only two physical entryways, flanked by meters of thick, pre-Merge concrete—more than enough density to scatter the thermal signatures of high-altitude gunships scanning from above.

Kael walked over to an overturned, rusted subway car resting on its side and sat heavily on the cold metal chassis.

Time to entrench.

"System," Kael muttered under his breath into the pitch darkness.

"Open the Interstellar Streamer interface."

BZZZZT.

A brilliant, shimmering platinum hologram flickered directly into his retina.

[Stream Interface: ONLINE]

[Current Viewer Status: OFFLINE (Standby for Broadcast)]

[Total Cosmic Credits: 51,500 Cosmic Credits]

"Access the Base-Building Module," Kael commanded.

A brand-new system feature, one he had unlocked the exact second his personal rating breached the Galactic Tier threshold.

It was an insane function.

It allowed him to take hard-earned Cosmic Credits and instantly print high-grade, physical matter out of thin air: tactical gear, barrier arrays, and automated kill-turrets.

He didn't need a mansion. He needed an absolute fortress.

BZZZZZT.

A neon blue holographic grid projected outward from his eyes, sweeping across the pitch-black station and layering a three-dimensional blueprint right over the ruined architecture.

He rapidly scrolled through the defense catalog.

[Item: Tier-1 Mana-Shield Generator]

[Description: Projects a high-density, localized hemispherical energy barrier. Capable of suppressing heavy small-arms ballistic fire while completely dampening internal thermal and magical signatures from external high-altitude orbital sensors.]

[Price: 20,000 Cosmic Credits]

"Purchase and deploy," Kael said.

[20,000 Cosmic Credits deducted.]

[Remaining Balance: 31,500 Cosmic Credits]

THUD!

A massive, heavy metallic cylinder materialized out of thin air right in the center of the subway hall, smashing into the cracked tiles with a heavy, echo-filled thud.

The machinery immediately whirred to life.

WHRRRRRRR!

A faint, translucent dome of sapphire energy rippled outward from the core, expanding rapidly until it snapped tight against the thick subterranean concrete.

The entire station was sealed within an airtight, localized barrier.

They were officially off the radar. Off the grid. Completely invisible to the world above.

Kael let out a long, shuddering breath, tilting his head back until his skull rested against the ice-cold, rusted metal of the train car.

Every single muscle fiber in his body screamed in protest.

His core felt like a cracked engine still smoking with raw heat.

Yet, sitting there in the quiet darkness, a slow, dangerous grin carved its way across his face.

He was out of the Rift.

He was free. He had a top-tier sniper rifle strapped to his back, and he had a bankroll deep enough to buy a small war.

He glanced at the glowing, dark stream interface, staring at the offline chat box where trillions of galactic viewers were undoubtedly waiting for the broadcast signal to hit.

"We're running blind down here," Kael muttered under his breath, his silver eyes catching the faint blue pulse of the shield generator.

He reached into his tactical pocket, pulling out the sleek, palm-sized Xel'Naga Splicer—the precise mechanical tool he'd used to breach the Vanguard's mainframe terminal.

"We need eyes in the sky. And I know the exact person to give us the whole grid."

Kael tapped the interface of the Splicer, dialing a secure, deep-net frequency.

"Time to collect on that favor, Nyx."
