Godslayer's Legend

Chapter 1022: Diagonally Divided [Bonus 4]

The gods didn’t even wait for Arthur to finish speaking before activating their Authorities, immense waves of divinity erupting outward from them in every direction.

Spatial Authorities intertwined with one another, warping space across the skies in several layers as they tried to construct a massive combined Domain Declaration meant to cover the entirety of the sealed planet.

The atmosphere trembled violently as space was partitioned under the power of their Authorities, and at the sight of this, Arthur shook his head with clear disappointment.

"This is going to become completely useless the moment one of you dies, so what’s the point of even letting you finish deploying it?"

The moment those words left his mouth, he activated his Gravitational Authority, anti-divinity condensing in his palm to its absolute limit and collapsing space-time to form a singularity.

The surrounding space immediately distorted under the immense gravity, the spatial law energies the gods were releasing into the forming Domain drawn toward the singularity in Arthur’s palm.

All the already-created partitions of space collapsed, and their constituent energies were pulled into the depths of the singularity, which devoured them entirely, destabilising the Domain creation process.

Wha—?!

"How is he doing this?!"

Several of the gods were pulled by the overwhelming gravity, their bodies dragged across the skies toward Arthur, before they desperately activated other Authorities and coated themselves in power to resist being consumed by the singularity.

The incomplete Domain they’d been channelling power into, destabilised by the singularity, ruptured violently, spatial fractures exploding across the skies and sending rebound waves toward every god involved in its creation simultaneously.

Over a dozen of the gods were thrown backwards through the air, while some others coughed golden blood, expressions of disbelief appearing across their faces as they stared at Arthur in horror.

Arthur, however, paid no attention to any of them and instead focused his gaze on one slightly further behind.

Out of the 25 gods present, he was the only one who didn’t receive any backlash, since he hadn’t joined the others in creating the combined Domain. He simply stayed behind the group while silently observing everything that had happened.

The aura he exuded was also different from the others, but it had a familiar note to it that Arthur immediately noticed.

’This one isn’t from Olympus, Romersk, Asgard or Erin...’

While Arthur silently took note of that one’s appearance, he condensed the energy of the singularity in his left palm and clenched his fist.

Then he turned his gaze and looked across the sky, filled with enormous spatial fractures from the failed combined Domain attempt, where the gods were staring at him with wide eyes, disbelief filling their gaze.

"He destroyed a combined Domain that easily...?"

"What kind of monster is this guy?!"

Arthur ignored their exclamations of shock and teleported, reappearing behind one of the gods, and before the god could even register his presence, his left fist shot toward the back of his head.

The impact blasted the Deity’s head completely off his neck, his skull exploding into fragments, golden blood erupting from the headless corpse as it fell toward the land below.

""!!""

The skies went silent instantly as the remaining gods stared at the falling corpse in horror, fear gripping their hearts as every single one of them realised that the existence floating before them was completely different from the person they had been told they were going to find in this universe.

Seeing Arthur calmly flick off the bone fragments sticking to his fingers, one of the gods shivered and instinctively backed away.

’What the hell?! He’s not even up to a century old!

All the reports put him at Inferior Mid-Tier at most. I even thought we overestimated him when we were told to bring 25 Superior Mid-Tiers, but there’s no way an Inferior Stage can kill a Superior Mid-Tier in one hit like that!! It just can’t happen!!’

The man’s disbelief quickly turned into panic, and panic then became rage as divinity erupted from his body and he roared while charging toward Arthur with a massive great sword raised high above his head.

Law energy wrapped around the weapon as he swung it downward with enough force to cleave the planet in half, and faced with this, Arthur calmly raised Celestia and met the enormous blade head-on.

The collision between the two weapons released a shockwave that pushed back all the others, but Arthur didn’t budge an inch from the impact as he effortlessly parried the sword before retaliating immediately afterwards.

’Destruction Crescent.’

The crimson-silver crescent slash split the god apart diagonally from shoulder to waist, golden blood and ruptured organs spilling out across the skies.

The separated halves of the corpse tumbled downward toward the planet below, and seeing this, one of the other gods screamed out.

Charge him together!!

He can’t defend against all of us at once!

Some of the remaining gods dashed toward Arthur at relativistic speed, their spears, swords, halberds, and axes engulfed in divinity and law energy as they descended upon him all at once.

Several others stayed back at range and cast large-scale magic, 8-ringed magic circles appearing across the skies as various elemental Authorities activated in synchrony.

Bow-wielders released storms of arrows from different directions, the projectiles curving through space as they locked onto Arthur’s position.

Torrents of flames and lightning descended upon him from every angle simultaneously, and Arthur, unbothered, silently roused his cosmic energy.

’Aspect Manifestation: Time.’

The world slowed to a crawl, and Arthur moved through the storm of attacks without panic, teleporting beside a spear wielder and slicing off the man’s arm at the shoulder, then reversing Celestia’s blade and stabbing through the god’s chest, anti-divinity and destructive energy erupting inside the deity’s body before Arthur ripped the sword upward and split the man’s torso apart completely.

The slow-moving arrows aimed toward Arthur’s back had their trajectories distorted by his gravitational barrier, redirecting the projectiles into another charging god instead.

Arthur momentarily reduced the effect of his Aspectual Authority over the space around that god, and the arrows immediately pierced the deity’s chest and exploded, blasting his body into fragments of flesh and golden blood.

He then looked up at a god wielding a massive warhammer engulfed in lightning and dashed toward him, grabbing his wrists as he held the hammer and pulling him closer, while he released Celestia and condensed gravitational law energy around his right fist.

Arthur punched the god’s chest ten times within a second, the repeated impacts shattering his ribs, rupturing his torso, and destroying his internal organs.

He then dragged the corpse by the throat and flung it sideways into a storm of incoming magic attacks, before flying higher into the sky and deactivating his Aspect.

BOOOMM!!

The skies exploded with energy as bodies were blasted apart by explosive arrows, blasts of divine fire and lightning obliterated corpses, and a severed arm still holding a spear flew through the air and pierced the eye of another god.

Screams of pain and agony echoed loudly, and Arthur watched the chaos below while rubbing his chin, unmoving until two gods broke out of the destruction and attacked him simultaneously from opposite directions.

One aimed for Arthur’s chest with a spear while the other swung two swords toward his spine. Arthur, however, easily reached out and grabbed the spear shaft with his left hand, then yanked the wielder forward, causing the god to lose balance for a moment before Arthur summoned Celestia back into his right hand and stabbed the underside of the man’s jaw.

Golden blood erupted upward as the semi-transparent blade pierced through his skull, and Arthur released Celestia before turning to the dual sword wielder whose horrified expression had barely formed before Arthur slammed his palms together, generating immense gravitational forces from both sides of the man’s body that crushed him in the centre and reduced his body to paste.

Meanwhile, the gods at a distance continued casting magic in desperation, torrents of elemental destruction swallowing large sections of the skies as they tried to overwhelm Arthur through sheer numbers.

However, Arthur simply grabbed Celestia, then teleported to avoid the bombardment, reappearing behind one of the gods and beheading her without hesitation.

Another immediately locked onto him and unleashed chains of magic that wrapped around Arthur to restrain him, but Arthur broke free with a burst of destructive energy, then closed the distance to the caster at lightspeed, punching him in the stomach with enough gravitational force to fold his body forward.

Arthur then grabbed his head and spun, throwing his body into the path of several arrows that collided with him and destroyed his corpse, the explosion of energy providing cover for Arthur to teleport and appear behind the one who fired the arrows, Celestia’s blade dividing his skull into three equal halves in an instant.

Just then, one of the remaining gods, the one with that distinct aura Arthur had noted earlier, who hadn’t joined the others in charging him, suddenly moved.

He dashed toward one of the gods attempting to cast magic, unsheathing a curved sabre and beheading him in an instant, before closing the distance to another at lightspeed, stabbing that one in the back and dragging his sabre downward, splitting the man’s body in two.

Black aether flowed from his arm as he moved through the sky, gathering into dense streams that coiled around his sabre and amplified its cutting power.

With one swing, the black aether stretched outward in a massive arc, ripping through the divinity barriers around two gods who were in the middle of casting magic.

The sabre-wielding god immediately closed the distance and followed with another swing that split apart both their magic circles and bodies, golden blood spraying through the air as the force behind the attack blasted their corpses toward the others.
