A Visit Before the Storm
Harrier Taylor, meanwhile, looked both relieved and exasperated.
"You little punk," he muttered, giving Harry another light smack on the shoulder. "You had this entire mansion worrying for nothing."
Harry laughed sheepishly while rubbing the back of his head.
"I’ve already admitted I was wrong, Father."
The surrounding servants couldn’t help but laugh, and the gloomy atmosphere that had lingered over the mansion for days finally disappeared.
Leon watched the lively scene for another moment before turning toward the mansion gates.
"It’s time for us to leave."
Selena and Rias nodded obediently.
"Yes, Teacher."
Harry hurried after them.
"Senior, you’re leaving already?"
Leon smiled.
"There are still many matters waiting for me."
Harry nodded in understanding.
"I’ll come visit Celestis Academy once I’m fully recovered."
"I’ll be waiting."
The two exchanged a smile before Leon, Selena, and Rias stepped out of the Taylor Mansion.
The lively sounds of Ashford City greeted them once again.
Morning sunlight illuminated the broad streets as merchants displayed colorful goods, children chased each other through the marketplace, and the aroma of freshly baked bread drifted through the air.
After days filled with battles and danger, the peaceful city felt almost unreal.
Selena quietly walked beside Leon.
Her snow-white robes fluttered gently with each graceful step, while her long silver hair shimmered beneath the sunlight like flowing moonlight.
She glanced toward Leon before asking,
"Teacher, Headmaster Mike and the others are in the Sky Breaker Academy. Don’t we need to go over and help?"
Rias also looked toward Leon curiously.
Although both of them trusted Leon’s judgment completely, they couldn’t help wondering why he had yet to join the others.
Leon calmly walked forward, his midnight robes embroidered with delicate amethyst patterns swaying softly with the breeze.
His expression remained relaxed.
Seeing his student ask, Leon smiled.
"You girls also want to see that bloody scene?"
His calm voice carried no ridicule, only quiet concern.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go.
Rather...
He already knew what awaited there.
The Sky Breaker Academy had crossed a line that no powerful sect could tolerate.
Once a conflict between major powers escalated to the point of exterminating an entire mountain...
Mercy disappeared.
Leon had witnessed countless battlefields throughout his life.
He knew exactly how ruthless such a campaign would become.
Not a single enemy would be spared.
Every hidden expert.
Every fleeing student.
Every surviving elder.
Every secret disciple.
Nothing would remain.
Even passing birds would be hunted down to prevent information from leaking.
Silence would replace the once-glorious academy.
Selena fell silent.
The image Leon described formed naturally within her mind.
Although she had already experienced life-and-death battles beside her Teacher, a complete annihilation of an enemy force was another matter entirely.
Rias unconsciously tightened her grip around the hem of her red robe’s sleeve resting near her waist.
The cheerful expression she usually wore gradually disappeared.
The atmosphere around the three became noticeably quieter.
After several moments of thought, Selena slowly raised her head.
Her blue eyes had become firm once more.
"Yes..."
Her answer was simple.
Yet it carried unwavering determination.
Rias also nodded.
"If we’re going to continue following Teacher, we can’t avoid seeing the cruel side of this world forever."
Leon looked at the two young women.
A trace of approval flashed through his purple eyes.
His students were growing.
Not only in strength...
But also in resolve.
He gave an approving nod.
"Good."
"Since you want to join the fun, I’ll bring you around later."
The two women smiled slightly.
However, Leon soon continued,
"But I still have something to do now."
His gaze shifted toward the bustling streets ahead.
"There’s no hurry."
"If there’s still time after I’m done, I’ll bring you over."
"If there’s no time..."
He shrugged casually.
"Then forget about it."
"There’s nothing worth seeing anyway."
Selena and Rias exchanged puzzled looks.
Teacher had another destination?
Neither of them asked further.
If Leon didn’t explain immediately, then there was naturally a reason.
Following Leon through Ashford City’s bustling streets, they soon reached the busiest commercial district.
Towering before them stood an enormous building with elegant architecture.
The golden plaque above the entrance displayed three magnificent words.
Whitelist Restaurant.
The restaurant was famous throughout the Fallen Leaf Domain.
Branches could be found across numerous kingdoms and powerful sect territories.
Its influence reached nearly every corner of the continent.
Yet...
No one truly knew who had founded it.
Its owner remained one of the greatest mysteries in the cultivation world.
Even many High Cultivation Realm experts treated the establishment with respect.
Selena looked up at the grand building.
"So this is Whitelist Restaurant..."
Rias’s crimson eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"I’ve heard about it countless times."
"They say every branch has an incredibly powerful manager."
Leon nodded.
"In Ashford City, the person in charge is Cavir Walton."
"A King Realm expert."
Although Leon spoke casually, both women understood what that meant.
King Realm experts were powerful figures capable of ruling entire regions.
Yet one was merely managing a single restaurant.
That alone demonstrated just how extraordinary Whitelist Restaurant truly was.
As they climbed the stone steps, Selena suddenly remembered something.
"Teacher..."
"The last time Rias and I came here, we ran into Vita Zain."
Leon smiled faintly.
"And Cavir Walton helped you."
"Yes."
Rias nodded.
"We still owe him our thanks."
Leon glanced toward the entrance.
"Then let’s thank him properly."
The three stepped through the grand doors.
The interior was just as magnificent as before.
Elegant wooden pillars supported the high ceiling.
The scent of fine tea and freshly prepared dishes drifted through the spacious hall.
Guests chatted quietly while cultivators from every corner of the continent enjoyed their meals.
The lively atmosphere contrasted sharply with the bloody battles taking place elsewhere.
As Leon calmly walked inside with Selena and Rias following closely behind him, one of the attendants immediately noticed the distinguished trio.
The waiter quickly approached with a respectful smile.
"Welcome, guest."
"This way, please."
