Li Wei saw several figures in the woods not far away.

’He had a feeling he knew where he was.’

’The "wooden heads" the Beast King mentioned... so he was talking about the Elves...’

Li Wei was left a little speechless, finding it somewhat funny.

Clearly, the Beast King didn’t have a very friendly attitude toward the Elf Race.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have nicknamed them "wooden heads."

Legend has it the Elf Race was born from the fruit of the World Tree.

’So, calling them ’wooden people’ wasn’t entirely off the mark.’

Li Wei and Saint Xi stood perfectly still.

Before long, several Elves had surrounded them.

"A human? A Beastman? What a strange combination. Why are you here?"

One of the Elves surrounding them asked in the Continent-wide Language.

All the Elves watched the pair warily.

They had seen both Li Wei and Saint Xi fall out of the spatial rift.

To pass through a spatial rift unscathed meant they were certainly no ordinary human and Beastman.

Saint Xi was not pleased to be called a Beastman.

"I’m not a Beastman."

The female Elf who had spoken looked surprised. She glanced at the horns on Saint Xi’s head.

’Aren’t those a trait of Beastmen?’

’If she’s not a Beastman, then what is she?’

Li Wei placed a hand on Saint Xi’s head and said, "My apologies to the members of the Elf Race for this sudden intrusion. We are victims as well—we were forcibly cast down here."

"Hmph. I don’t care where you came from. Leave the Elf Forest at once. Humans and Beastmen aren’t welcome here," the male Elf holding a scimitar declared.

The female Elf frowned. "Colt, wait. There’s something strange about their arrival. We must determine their identities."

"Laya, you want to bring them back to our lands?" Colt asked, surprised.

Colt said hesitantly, "But... without the Sage’s permission, no humans or Beastmen are allowed to enter Elven lands."

Laya said, "This is a special case. I’m sure the Sage will make an exception."

"But, but..."

Colt was still unconvinced.

Laya cut him off, her voice loud and serious. "Colt, do you know why I’ve never liked you?"

"It’s because you’re so indecisive."

At her words, Colt’s face fell, and he looked utterly devastated.

Laya took charge, deciding to bring Li Wei and Saint Xi back to their lands to investigate their identities.

"I’ll take full responsibility for whatever happens," Laya stated plainly.

Seeing this, the others raised no objections.

Most of them sided with Laya anyway.

After all, they had seen Li Wei and Saint Xi fall from the spatial rift with their own eyes.

If they were just humans who had strayed into the Elf Forest, they could have simply expelled them.

But the manner of their arrival in the Elf Forest was far too astonishing.

The other Elves also wanted to get to the bottom of it.

Laya turned to Li Wei and Saint Xi. "We’ll need the two of you to cooperate."

"If you’re unwilling, then I’ll have no choice but to resort to force."

Li Wei and Saint Xi exchanged a look. "Alright, no problem. We’ll cooperate."

’He couldn’t help but sigh internally.’

’The gap between Beastmen and Elves really is enormous!’

’One is savage and crude, the other civilized and elegant.’

’No wonder the Elves and Beastmen can’t stand each other.’

Laya and her group escorted Li Wei and Saint Xi toward the lands of the Elf Race.

Without any outward sign, Saint Xi and Li Wei began communicating telepathically.

’The second keepsake is just ahead,’ Saint Xi communicated.

’Oh? Is it in the lands we’re going to?’ Li Wei asked.

’I don’t think so,’ Saint Xi replied. ’I can feel it’s still some distance away.’

’Then it must be deeper within the Elf Forest,’ Li Wei mused, ’perhaps in the Imperial Capital of the Elf Empire.’

He was extrapolating from the stone’s location in the Beastman Imperial Capital.

Li Wei was extremely curious. Why would keepsakes of the Holy Dragon Inheritance be left in two completely unrelated places like the Beastman Empire and the Elf Empire?

’The Beastman Empire and the Elf Empire have no connection to the Holy Dragon Race, do they?’

Li Wei mentally asked Saint Xi about it.

’Did the Holy Dragon Race have deep ties with the Elves and Beastmen in the past?’

’I don’t think so. I don’t have any memories of that.’

’Is that so?’

’He wasn’t so sure. Perhaps Saint Xi just hadn’t awakened those particular memories yet.’

’Whatever. I’ll just take it one step at a time. Sooner or later, I’ll uncover the truth.’

Li Wei suddenly remembered what the Beast King had said.

A sense of foreboding washed over him.

’If the second keepsake really is in the hands of the Elf Race, they might not give it up as willingly as the Beast King did.’

’The Beast King did say the second keepsake seems to hold some extraordinary importance for the Elf Race.’

Following the Elves, they arrived in the Elven lands.

The Elven lands were filled with colossal trees. Thick, sturdy vines snaked between them, forming a network of aerial walkways.

The Elves lived inside naturally formed hollows within the giant trees.

In addition to the tree hollows, the ground was dotted with buildings made from giant plant fruits.

There were giant pumpkin structures more than twenty meters in diameter and five meters high.

Artificially constructed buildings were almost nowhere to be seen.

’Li Wei was quite surprised. Were the Elf Race always this close to nature?’

’A long time ago, during the ancient era when the Elf Race dominated the Celestial Vault Continent...’

’...the Ancient Elves were known for their nobility and magnificent, golden splendor.’

’Had so many years passed that the once-noble Ancient Elves had actually degenerated to this state?’

’Or was it that the Elf Race had simply returned to nature?’

The arrival of a human and a Beastman in the lands of the Elf Race drew the curiosity of many Elf Race People.

Many beautiful, delicate-looking Elves with pointed ears peeked out from their dwellings to watch the pair walk past.
