Li Wei and Laya were walking along the cliffs of Yellowstone Territory.
Laya had just mentioned there were Rock Guards here.

Laya gazed at a narrow pass in the distance and said, "Let’s hurry. We should be able to reach Yellowstone Territory before dark."

The sound of rolling rocks came from above.
Realizing loose rocks were falling, Li Wei quickly warned, "Watch out."
A shadow fell over Li Wei’s head.
He looked up, his pupils constricting.
A massive boulder, over five meters in diameter, was rolling down along the cliff face.
Li Wei leaped backward and gave Laya a push through the air, sending her forward several meters.

The massive boulder smashed the mountain path to pieces.

Splintered rock fragments shot toward Li Wei.
They were blocked by his Invisible Armor.
Li Wei looked up, his gaze fixing on a figure disappearing from the mountain peak.
The falling boulder wasn’t a natural rockslide at all.
It was an attempted murder.
’Still, they really underestimate me.’
’Could a falling rock like this kill a Grand Mage?’
If caught completely off guard, even a Tier Six Great Mage could indeed be crushed to death.
After all, a Grand Mage’s body was far less durable than that of other Professionals—it could even be called fragile.

The enemy’s assault wasn’t over.
The sound of grinding rock came from the cliff face next to Li Wei.
A dozen or so rocks broke away from the cliff, forming several giant Rock Guards that surrounded Li Wei.
Li Wei looked at the surrounding Rock Guards, a hint of surprise on his face.
’Are the attackers from the Earth Elf Race of Yellowstone Territory?’
’If not, why can they control Rock Guards?’
Seeing the Rock Guards appear, Laya had the same question.
She quickly shouted, "Wait, he’s not an intruder!"
Laya’s voice echoed through the valley, but no one answered her.

A Rock Guard’s wok-sized fist slammed viciously into the ground, shattering it.
Li Wei dodged the Rock Guard’s attack.
He quickly scanned his surroundings, searching for the attackers.
His Spiritual Perception spread out rapidly like flowing water, blanketing the valley.
Li Wei saw two figures in black robes standing on the mountaintop.
The Magic Power continuously radiating from them proved they were the ones Casting magic to control the Rock Guards.
Li Wei leaped up, evading the pincer attack of two Rock Guards.
He extended his index finger and lightly tapped the air.
"Retreat!"
A Fire Resistance Ring spread out rapidly from his fingertip.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
The several Rock Guards around Li Wei were all struck by the Fire Resistance Ring and knocked off the cliff.
Laya’s face filled with shock at this sight.
It was the first time she had ever seen someone perform Magic like that.
No chanting, no constructing a Magic Model.
It was as if his words were law.
SCRAPE! SCRAPE! SCRAPE!
Sounds came from below the cliff.
Laya turned her head to look, seeing something in a place visible to her but not to Li Wei.
Countless Rock Guards were climbing up the cliff face.
A chill ran down Laya’s spine, and a cold dread filled her heart.
"What is going on?"
"Why are there so many Rock Guards?"
"Who are these attackers?"
Li Wei also wanted to know who the attackers were.
He prepared to fly toward the mountain peak.
He had just flown up five meters when a figure suddenly appeared at his side.
An invisible blade stabbed toward his neck.
The Invisible Blade ignored the Invisible Armor Shield and struck Li Wei’s neck.
SHLICK!
Blood flowed down the Invisible Blade, dyeing the unseen weapon red.
Li Wei turned his head to look at the Assassin who had suddenly appeared beside him.
