The Earth Elf Tina nervously introduced herself to Li Wei.
Fortunately, Li Wei heard her out.
Li Wei looked at Tina, concluding for now that she wasn’t with the attackers.
He glanced at the three people on the nearby cliff.
Then his eyes fell to Niezha and Laya on the mountain path below.
Niezha’s expression was grim as he stared intently at Li Wei in mid-air.
He had never imagined Li Wei could be this powerful.
"Damn it!"
Hearing him, Laya tried to reason with him. "Niezha, it’s not too late to stop. I won’t tell the lord..."
"Shut up."
Niezha snarled viciously.
Then, his right hand shot out and grabbed Laya by the neck as Dark Energy coalesced in his palm.
Laya felt the chilling aura of death.
Her expression was one of shock and disbelief.
Niezha was actually trying to kill her.
Holding Laya fast, Niezha looked up at Li Wei and yelled, "Stop right there! Or I’ll kill her!"
Li Wei looked down, a flicker of astonishment on his face.
’Niezha is using Laya to threaten me? How absurd.’
By all accounts, Niezha and Laya were the ones with the closer relationship.
As the reality of the situation sank in, Li Wei was at a loss for words.
’What is this nonsense?’
Li Wei snorted coldly. "Is that so? Then go ahead."
Niezha stared daggers at Li Wei.
Laya also looked at Li Wei, despair slowly clouding her eyes.
It was not despair at Li Wei for leaving her to die.
It was despair that Niezha, of all people, wanted to kill her.
She couldn’t even muster the will to resist.
There is no greater sorrow than a dead heart.
The fingers of Niezha’s right hand gradually tightened, and pitch-black Dark Energy seeped into Laya’s neck.
Her breathing instinctively quickened.
The instinct for survival made her begin to struggle.
But it was to no avail.
Seeing that Niezha truly intended to kill Laya, Li Wei couldn’t just stand by and watch.
A Magic Stone appeared in his hand.
’Space Exchange Technique!’
WHOOSH!
Laya vanished from before Niezha.
A Magic Stone appeared in her place.
Laya reappeared at Li Wei’s side.
This was the first Space Magic Li Wei had learned from the Space Tower.
At a low level, the Space Exchange Technique could only swap small objects over short distances.
It also required the two objects being swapped to be of similar size and weight.
But after Li Wei ground the Space Exchange Technique up to Tier Four, it underwent a qualitative change.
He could now swap the positions of any objects within his range of perception at will.
Laya, enveloped in a blue glow, floated beside Li Wei.
Li Wei stared down at Niezha, who wore a look of utter bewilderment at Laya’s sudden disappearance.
"Detonate," Li Wei whispered.
Under the influence of the Elemental Fission Extraordinary Trait, the Magic Energy within the Magic Stone rapidly converted into Fire Element and burst forth, becoming a super bomb.
BOOM!
The fiery blast engulfed Niezha’s figure.
WHOOSH! A figure leaped out of the smoke.
Niezha’s black cloak was shredded by the blast, but he himself had not sustained much damage.
The Magic Energy within a single Magic Stone was limited.
Even amplified by Li Wei’s Epic Level Extraordinary Trait, it was not enough to harm a true expert.
Niezha was by no means weak.
He had not become the Commander of Green Tree Territory simply because Delvin was his brother.
Niezha’s own Power had already reached Tier Six High Level.
A Tier Six High Level Ranger Swordsman.
With his cloak gone, Niezha’s form was revealed.
Li Wei focused his gaze and saw black runes clinging to Niezha’s neck and face.
He looked somewhat like a Demonized Creature.
However, Li Wei could clearly sense this was not Demonization Power.
’It must be some form of Dark Power.’
Li Wei sensed an aura of darkness.
Considering Niezha’s collusion with the Zor Elves, it was not hard to imagine that he had likely pledged his faith to the Evil Goddess Rose of the Underworld.
The black runes and Dark Power were the new power Niezha had received from the Evil Goddess Rose in exchange for his faith.
This was the source of Niezha’s confidence, the reason he still dared to attack Li Wei despite witnessing his immense power.
Niezha believed that no matter how powerful Li Wei was, he could not be a match for someone like him, who had obtained Divine Power.
"Corrupt Spider Web!"
The black runes on Niezha’s face glowed, spreading into the air and forming a massive black spider web.
The Corrupt Spider Web enveloped the space around Li Wei.
He was like prey caught in a web, awaiting final judgment.
Li Wei felt the dangerous aura emanating from the Corrupt Spider Web.
SZZZZ!
The very air around the Corrupt Spider Web began to show signs of decay.
The shrinking Corrupt Spider Web was like thousands of sharp blades, slicing the very sky apart.
Tiny black fissures appeared in the air.
’Even space itself is being affected.’
Li Wei’s eyes narrowed as he sensed the powerful Power of Rules imbued within the Corrupt Spider Web.
’A High Level Rule of Corruption?’
This did not surprise Li Wei.
Rose was an Evil Goddess of the Underworld; though she was a Divine Spirit, her Level was not high.
A Low Tier Divine Spirit could, at most, master Low Tier Law Power.
The power she could bestow upon her followers would be High Level Rule Power at the absolute most.
Granting Low Tier Law Power would take a considerable toll on her.
Niezha was likely not important enough for Rose to damage herself by bestowing Low Tier Law Power upon him.
Only a powerful Divine Spirit like the Light God, one who had mastered High Tier Law Power, could grant the Power of Laws to followers without diminishing their own strength.
