–Chapter 2–

"Tsk"

Isabella let out a loud laugh that filled the whole hall. "Oh look at this everyone." She pointed at him with her fancy metal fan.

"This worthless worm has zero mana, but his little cock is getting hard just from standing near me."

Everyone around including the priests and knights burst out into laughter. Some clapped like with all their might like it was the best joke they’ve heard in their useless, pathetic lives.

Before Takeshi could say anything, or defend himself, Isabella swung her fan in the blink of an eye. It hit him hard right between the legs.

Pain exploded in his balls. Takeshi bent over with a choked and muffled groan. His face twisting in pain even while his knees buckled and he almost fell down. Feeling a different type of heat in his cock like someone has injected a needle in there.

But instead of sympathy, the people present roared with laughter.

"How disgusting," Isabella said over their laughs with a big smile on her face. "You cannot use any mana at all, but your body still acts like a horny dog in heat."

She suddenly got closer to the kneeling Takeshi, pressing her thick thigh on his head.

"Does the sight of a real woman break your weak little mind so easily, Deva Grayfort?"

She stepped back, placing her opened fan over her mouth and laughed again, looking at the crowd for approval.

And the dick-riding bastards gave it with more cheers and applause.

High Priestess Valeria stepped forward. She looked down at him with cold eyes. "The goddess has no need for such defects. Send these four to the servant quarters with the rest of the trash. They can clean floors or stand as targets for the real heroes to practice on."

Duke Harlan Grimwald, a tall burly man in the audience laughed loudly from his seat. Drawing attention to himself.

"At least the Lightning Mage can fight. These four are only good as monster food on the frontlines. Maybe they will die fast and become manure for our crops." he croaked.

The successful hero Erling looked down at them. He had a mix of pity and superiority on his face.

Even now, pretty attendants had already begun leading him away to his new and lavish lifestyle.

Takeshi stayed on his knees for a long time. Pain burned through his body. His face felt hot from shame.

The laughter hurt his pride even more than the hit. However, deep inside, something cold and sharp grew stronger.

He was angry. Pure anger that wanted to burn everything. These people thought he was nothing.

They laughed at him like he had arrived in this place as a joke. His death glare moved around the room.

He would remember every single face. He would make all of them regret this day. He swore it on whatever it was that had yanked him from his old life and brought him here.

The four failures got dragged away like common criminals. Guards pushed them roughly. As they lost every shred of dignity they never had.

The guards took them to a dirty servant room in the lower part of the palace. The floor felt cold, damp and smelt like urine.

There were no real beds, only old straw mats. The food that was offered was just stale bread and a liquid that looked more like tar than water.

The space that completely lacked privacy was now.the home for four rejected and discarded men.

Takeshi sat leaning against the cold wall. He stared at the ceiling while the other three men cried, complained, and talked about their old lives.

One of the men said he had a wife back home. A phase in life Takeshi never experienced because he was too busy whoring around.

The other said he was a gamer who never expected such an outcome in his life. Takeshi stayed quiet. He listened and remembered.

But his thoughts drifted to the successful hero Erling and the rewards he got just for being lucky.

The contrast to their present situation was pretty clear. Those that were successful got everything. While failures got nothing but pain and shame.

It was a universal constant. No matter the shit hole he found himself.

The four failures stayed in the space together for hours and just in case anyone forgot their place, the guards came every now and then to remind them.

They laughed and said the failures would soon go to a special trial led by the church.

Takeshi listened attentively but never did he change his expression. While the others sort hope. He just stayed calm and watched.

Later that night, when the others somehow found a way to sleep, a young servant boy came with more water.

Takeshi couldn’t make out his full features but the way the boy’s hand shook around the bottle of water, Takeshi noticed his nervousness.

Believing they were fast asleep, the boy whispered through the bars placed on the door.

"Bad news for you all. The worst failures get sent to the old sanctum for the trail."

The boy paused as he turned the water into a smaller bowl.

"Mum says it’s a special trial. But no one ever comes back from there. I’m sorry."

The boy concluded and left quickly. Even before Takeshi could get up from his sleeping position to question him.

After the boy’s exit, Takeshi’s eyes shone in the dark room. He now understood exactly how things worked here.

Failure wasn’t rewarded by just dismissal but with humiliation, pain, and maybe even death.

But he would not stay a failure...

Even though he was somehow dragged while he was still breathing to this alternate world.

He didn’t plan to just die useless here. Never!

He sat up fully and opened his status window even as a plan started to form in his mind.
