Herogasm: My SSS-Ranked Maids Can Do Everything!
Chapter 20: The Tower has decided.--Chapter 20--
Title: The Tower has decided.
Before the crowd could descend into another wave of arguments, the Tower itself responded.
A warm golden light descended from the upper floors, spilling over Takeshi like sunlight breaking through heavy clouds.
Unlike the blessings cast by the Church, this light carried no holy pressure. Instead it felt older and purer. As though the Tower itself had acknowledged something.
The golden radiance lingered for only a few seconds before fading away, leaving behind a translucent window that only Takeshi could see.

Takeshi quietly read through the rewards.
The sword was nice but he didn’t have much of an opinion about it till he saw it first hand.
The title was even probably better. But it was the last reward that truly caught his attention.
Tower Records... Interface.
Was it like a ranking system? Or perhaps something even bigger.
If records came with exclusive rewards...then they were worth collecting.
A faint smile appeared on his lips before the window quietly disappeared.
Just then, two priests stepped forward carrying a silver tray draped in deep blue velvet.
Resting atop it was a beautifully crafted shortsword. The blade carried none of the arrogance displayed by most noble weapons.
Its blade was forged from bright mana steel with a mirror finish that reflected the afternoon light in thin silver streaks. Fine runic engravings rested near the base of the blade, subtle enough to be overlooked unless someone knew what they were looking at.
Even before touching it, Takeshi could tell one thing. This sword had been made to survive battles.. and not ceremonial bullshit.
But there was one problem, he couldn’t use a sword for shit.
He focused his mind elsewhere and even from several metres away, Takeshi could hear the unmistakable clink of coins shifting inside.
"So the Tower even delivers its rewards physically..." he muttered inwardly.
Valeria watched everything unfold before finally stepping forward.
The moment she moved, the restless plaza gradually quietened.
Her years of authority alone were enough to command attention.
"The Goddess rewards those who prove themselves," she began, her calm voice carrying effortlessly across the square.
"Hero Deva Grayfort has earned the Tower’s acknowledgement through his own efforts."
She paused, allowing the statement to settle before continuing.
"However..."
"The Tower is but the beginning."
She looked directly at Takeshi, locking eyes with him.
"The path of a true Hero stretches far beyond five floors. Today’s achievement deserves recognition..."
"...but it should also serve as a reminder that greater trials still await."
The crowd slowly nodded. Some genuinely agreed. Some ohers simply followed the High Priestess’s lead.
’Bloody wankers.’
Takeshi almost laughed, it was nicely played by the woman. With only a few sentences, Valeria had done exactly what he expected.
She hadn’t denied his achievement. That would’ve been impossible.
Instead...
She’d folded it neatly back under the Church’s authority.
Turning the Tower’s recognition into proof that the Goddess still guided everything.
"She’s good," he admitted inwardly.
She wasn’t trying to beat him. Instead she was making sure the Church never lost control of the story.
And somehow...
That made Takeshi smile even more.
Because if someone as calculating as Valeria was already treating him like a political problem...
Then he’d clearly done something right.
***
The silence Valeria had restored didn’t last long.
"That’s ridiculous," the voice cut through the plaza before anyone else could speak.
Every eye turned towards Erling Vega.
He unfolded his arms and stepped forward, his eyes never leaving Takeshi.
"I’ll admit the record is impressive," he began. "But let’s not pretend clearing the Tower with an A-rank summon is the same thing as doing it yourself."
A few nobles nodded.
"So that’s what this is about..."
"He thinks the summon carried him."
"It’s not entirely unreasonable."
Takeshi looked at Erling quietly. He wasn’t surprised.
Actually if their positions had been reversed, and he was as shameless as the man then he would’ve pulled something like this too.
The difference was... He was nothing like Erling. He was definitely shameless but not stupid.
He would’ve kept it to himself.
Nyxara, on the other hand, laughed only. A rich, amused laugh that echoed across the plaza.
"Oh?"
She took a slow step forward, the heels of her boots clicking against the stone.
"So now I’m the problem?"
Hellfire flickered lazily around one of her fingers before disappearing just as quickly.
"I thought humans liked strong allies. Or Fu-"
"Nyxara...." Takeshi strained, hiding an amused smile
Takeshi raised a hand without looking at her. Seeing as several nearby knights instinctively tensed by just her movements.
She clicked her tongue. "...Spoilsport."
The flames that were slowly curling around her horns disappeared.
Erling didn’t back down though. Instead he spoke behind gritted teeth.
"My point still stands."
He looked directly at Takeshi.
"If you truly wish to be recognised as a Hero..."
"...then earn your achievements with your own strength."
For a brief moment...
Nobody spoke. And Takeshi. Well he simply looked at him.
But after a brief moment, he smiled.
The small smile framed his face into a smug expression that irritated Erling even more.
"You know..." Takeshi finally spoke.
"I actually agree with you."
The plaza remained quiet as the crowd began exchanging stares.
Even Erling frowned. "You do?"
Takeshi nodded. "I don’t intend to rely on Nyxara forever."
He glanced sideways at the Demoness. She rolled her eyes dramatically.
"But...," Takeshi continued. "...today wasn’t about proving I could fight alone."
His eyes met Erling’s once more.
"It was about proving that the goddess has truly chosen me,"
He took a slow step forward as he spilled propaganda that stuck.
"And judging by the looks on everyone’s faces..."
"I’d say that worked out pretty well."
Several adventurers couldn’t help but chuckle. Even a few knights looked away to hide their smiles.
Erling’s expression stiffened but Takeshi wasn’t finished.
"You said my summon isn’t my strength."
He shrugged casually. "I disagree."
His hand rested lightly on Nyxara’s shoulder before shifting inconspicuously to her buttocks.
Nyxara smiled and leaned into his caress.
Squeezing her soft ass, he continued "I summoned her and i command her."
He paused, and pulled his hand upwards, much to Nyxara’s disagreement.
"Ishe fight beside me and that makes her my strength."
Nyxara’s grin widened. "Damn right."
Takeshi looked back at Erling.
"And besides..."
He glanced towards the Tower behind him.
"The Tower already gave its answer."
His smiled broadened. "It even put my name on the record."
Erling opened his mouth then closed it again. There was nothing left to argue.
The Tower’s judgement carried more weight than either of their opinions ever could.
Takeshi grabbed his rewards and walked past him without another word.
Nyxara followed immediately after, deliberately brushing shoulders with Erling as she passed.
"My Master’s in a good mood today."
She flashed him a wicked grin. "You should be grateful worm."
