--Chapter 32--

Title: Going Shopping [1]

With eyes half-lidded and still trying to fully pull themselves open. Takeshi noticed the change before he had fully left the bed.

It wasn’t the heavy surge that had followed his first session with Nyxara. This was quieter, but somehow easier to notice.

His thoughts felt more organized, words flashed into his mind without much effort, and even the things around him seemed slightly easier to process.

This was due to the Herogasm skill granting him temporary boosts in charisma and magic.

+12 Charisma

+6 Magic

It was nothing to impressive but Takeshi was guessing it was due to the so-called limit of his body or maybe because he didn’t necessarily know much about this things.

Takeshi sat at the edge of the bed for another moment before standing. He was disappointedly surprised he didn’t find a certain crimson Demoness bare naked and tormenting his morning.

Instead, it was the pleasant surprise, that was Solaria.

She was already awake and stood near the side table in her maid uniform, quietly arranging a few things on the table that didn’t really need arranging.

Her hands moved with unnecessary control, while her eyes occasionally drifted toward Takeshi before returning to whatever she was pretending to organize.

The morning light coming through the window caught the silver embroidery on her uniform, making it look softer than it had the previous night.

Her wings were still folded closely behind her. Takeshi noticed the way she avoided looking directly at him for too long.

And took the lead as expected. "You’re up early."

Solaria’s hands paused. "Yes...yes Master."

There was still some awkwardness in her tone and between them in general.

Takeshi didn’t blame her. What happened the previous night wasn’t something she could simply pretend hadn’t happened because the sun had come up.

Instead of diving into the obvious conversation, he picked up his clothes that were already neatly arranged by the side and began dressing.

"About last night."

Solaria’s shoulders tightened the moment the words left his mouth.

"It would remain between us until you want to talk about it."

Nodding in agreement , her fingers slowly tightened around the fabric of the apron of her attire.

Taking a glance at her, Takeshi continued.

"You came to me. You obeyed. You stayed until I allowed you to stop. That’s all there is to it."

He stopped, and pushed his head through the opening of the shirt.

"Is that understood?"

Solaria swallowed before lowering her gaze.

"Yes. Master," she replied as the tension in her shoulders eased a little.

Takeshi pulled his shirt into place before looking down at himself. The clothes felt worse than they had yesterday.

Perhaps his body had changed enough that he was finally noticing how worn everything actually was.

The shirt was faded, the trousers had seen better days, and his boots looked like they belonged to someone who expected to spend most of his life running from monsters.

He tugged at his sleeve. "I need proper clothes."

Solaria looked up from her cherry daze. Jumping on his request.

"I can prepara--"

"Don’t worry, i’m going into the city."

She stopped on her track. Takeshi continued dressing while he continued.

"I need clothes, proper equipment, and I should probably learn what twelve hundred gold actually means in this kingdom."

Solaria’s eye became glassy but she quickly composed herself. "Shall I come with you, Master?"

"Hmmm..,"Takeshi considered it for a moment. Before he shook his head in resignation.

"Stay here."

A tiny distortion appeared on her face. it wasn’t quite disappointment, but it wasn’t relief either.

"Lana’s coming with me," he completed.

Solaria lowered her gaze again, her voice coming in fragments. "I..I...U...understand."

Takeshi finished adjusting his wrinkled pants and moved toward the door.

But right before left, he glanced back at her.

"Don’t spend the rest of the morning thinking about last night."

Her face immediately warmed. " I will try my best."

A small smile appeared on Takeshi’s face.

"That’s better."

He left before she could become any redder.

***

Nyxara was already in the main hall when Takeshi came downstairs.

She was sitting sideways in one of the chairs, one arm resting across the back while Lana stood near the entrance, adjusting the small black veil attached to her headpiece.

Nyxara noticed Takeshi first. Her eyes moved from him to Lana and then back again.

"So you’re taking only her?"

"Yes."

"I want to come along"

Takeshi adjusted his collar, his eyes barely on her. " I don’t need a market fire."

Nyxara immediately shook her head and snapped. "I wouldn’t."

Takeshi gave her a look, and Nyxara held his gaze for several seconds before the corner of her mouth finally twitched.

"...I probably would."

He snorted.

Lana’s lips curved faintly as she finished adjusting her veil.

Nyxara noticed her and flicked her tail, then she laid flat on the three seater couch with her hips and buttocks protruding up seductively.

Takeshi watched her for a second, her invitation was clear enough but he wasn’t falling for that today... At least not right now.

Instead, he checked the small pouch attached to his belt. The twelve hundred gold coins were still there.

That much money sounded impressive when the Tower rewarded him with it. Now that he was actually about to spend it, Takeshi realized he had no idea what it was worth.

A gold coin could mean a fortune. Or it could simply mean he had enough money to embarrass himself in an expensive shop.

He’d find out soon enough.

Lana stepped away from the mirror. Her hips swinging sensually.

"I’m ready, Master."

Takeshi turned to look at her. The uniform was immaculate as usual. The black silk, crimson accents, and gold embroidery stood out against the relatively plain hall, but Lana somehow made the entire thing look perfectly natural.

"Let’s go."

She inclined her head. "As you wish."

Side by side, they walked to the door.

"Bring me something."

Takeshi looked back and Nyxara was still lying in the chair.

"Something like what?"

"Something worthy of a princess."

She said, giving him a completely serious look, as though she’d just made a perfectly reasonable request.

Takeshi stared at her for a moment. Then he shook his head.

"You’re unbelievable."

Nyxara grinned sheepishly at his remark even as Lana quietly opened the door.

The laid-back morning air flowed into the hall. Even asTakeshi stepped outside with Lana beside him.

Finally, he was going into the capital because he wanted to. And not because someone had ordered him somewhere.

It was time to see what his new world had to offer. Other than beautiful women.
