Han Mo, for his part, held the absolute upper hand.

His Swordsmanship had reached the Transformation Realm, and each strike landed precisely on his opponent’s weak points. The Feathered People Second King with the strongest aura now sported over a dozen wounds, his wings tattered and broken. He was in a miserable state.

Meanwhile, Lu Wenquan had used an Energy barrier to trap the three Priest-type Second Kings, preventing them from supporting the other battlefields.

Everything seemed to be moving in their favor.

But Xu Wuyi’s intuition told him the real death trap had yet to be sprung.

’Since the Feathered People laid this trap, they couldn’t possibly have only these tricks up their sleeve. The six Second Kings are powerful, but they’re far from enough to surround and kill me, not when I have three Quasi-Grandmasters protecting me.’

’They must have another move.’

Just then, something unexpected happened.

From deep within the fortress, two columns of dark red light shot into the sky.

Two figures slowly materialized within the columns of light.

They were two Feathered People in dark red robes. What set them apart from the others were their wings—they were a pure blood-red, as if made of clotted blood.

The two didn’t radiate any aura. On the contrary, it was suppressed to an extreme degree.

But the hairs on Xu Wuyi’s arms stood on end instantly.

’Danger.’

’Extreme danger.’

These two Feathered People felt even more terrifying than the six Second Kings before them.

The moment the two Blood Wing figures appeared, Xu Wuyi’s skin tightened all over his body.

It was an almost instinctual warning of danger.

The two Feathered People before him had their auras completely contained, yet they exuded a pressure far greater than any of the Second Kings.

As their blood-red wings beat slowly, the faint, acrid scent of rust spread through the air.

"The Blood Wing Twin Kings." Han Mo’s voice came over the comms channel, his speech rapid but steady. "Guardians of the Blood Sacrifice Divine Hall. Together, they can take on a top-tier Quasi-Grandmaster. Xu Wuyi, don’t fight them head-on. Run if you can."

Xu Wuyi didn’t answer. His entire Heart and Spirit was already locked onto the two blood-red figures before him.

He could already sense their auras locked onto him. Escape was no longer an option. His only choice was to fight.

He tightened the five fingers of his right hand. The Liaoyuan Long Spear felt warm, the dark gold patterns on its shaft growing slightly hot in his palm, as if a living thing were waking.

The Blood Wing on the left moved.

With no warning, its form blurred, becoming a thin, blood-red line that ripped through the air. It covered the ten meters in an instant, its scale-covered hand clawing straight for Xu Wuyi’s heart.

It was absurdly fast.

Xu Wuyi didn’t even have time to retreat. His body instinctively leaned slightly left as he swept the shaft of his long spear to the right like a dragon’s lashing tail.

CLANG—!

The explosive clang of metal on metal rang out.

The shaft of the spear accurately struck the clawed hand’s wrist, sending fine cracks spiderwebbing across the dark red scales.

The Blood Wing grunted, using the impact to flip backward. It spun three times in midair to bleed off the momentum before landing on the surface of the sea five meters away. A circle of blood-red ripples spread from where its feet touched down.

But the attack wasn’t over.

In almost the same instant, the right Blood Wing appeared silently behind Xu Wuyi. Its fingers were pressed together like a blade, stabbing straight for the back of his neck. The move was simple, vicious, and utterly devoid of wasted motion.

Xu Wuyi didn’t even turn around.

In his sea of consciousness, the earthen-yellow patterns on the surface of his Dark Gold Mountain Body faintly glowed.

"Nether Deflection."

With a thought, the direction of Gravity within half a meter behind him silently tilted by thirty degrees.

Just before reaching Xu Wuyi’s neck, the hand-blade’s straight trajectory was pulled sideways by an invisible force.

The five fingers grazed past his skin, the resulting gust of wind sharp enough to sever a few strands of black hair.

Xu Wuyi took a half-step forward with the momentum, his body spinning like a top. He swung his long spear in a backhanded arc, using the rotation’s force. The spear tip carved a dark gold arc of light, aimed straight for the face of the Blood Wing behind him.

The Blood Wing’s pupils contracted. With a rapid beat of its wings, its body drifted backward like a phantom.

The tip of the spear scraped perilously past its nose, the searing wave of air stinging the skin of its face beneath the hood.

With both attacks having missed, the two Blood Wing Twin Kings regrouped, standing ten meters in front of Xu Wuyi.

The sea breeze blew past, but their dark red robes remained perfectly still, as if they had become one with the space around them.

"Gravity Manipulation," the left Blood Wing said, its voice as raspy as grinding sand. "No wonder Lord Helos was so wary of you."

The right Blood Wing tilted its hood up slightly, revealing a pair of dark red eyes. "But this alone isn’t enough."

The instant the words were spoken, they both moved.

Not one after the other, but simultaneously, from two different directions.

The left Blood Wing shot forward, skimming the sea’s surface. Its body was low as it pressed its hands against the water, causing two columns to erupt. It used the force to launch itself forward, increasing its speed by another third.

The right Blood Wing shot into the air, its blood-red wings spreading wide as it dove from above.

A pincer attack from above and below.

Xu Wuyi’s eyes hardened.

The mountain in his sea of consciousness trembled, and the Power of his Heart Image surged forth.

He stomped his left foot hard on the surface of the sea, and dark gold ripples spread out from under it. Wherever the ripples passed, the seawater instantly became as thick as glue.

"Nether Mire."

The moment the left Blood Wing entered the area of the ripples, its speed dropped drastically.

It was as if it had been plunged into an invisible swamp; every step became heavy and labored.

But it didn’t panic. It formed a hand seal before its chest, and the blood-red flames of its aura flared, forcibly tearing a path through the gravitational mire as it continued to charge.

Meanwhile, the Blood Wing from the sky had arrived.

The acceleration from the dive made the force of its strike terrifyingly powerful.

It clasped its hands into a hammer, the blood-red aura around its fists coalescing into the phantom of a snarling wolf’s head. It brought the attack down toward Xu Wuyi’s head with a piercing shriek.

There was no avoiding it.

But then, Xu Wuyi did something neither of the Blood Wing Twin Kings expected.

He didn’t block up or dodge down. Instead, he plunged his Liaoyuan Long Spear hard into the surface of the sea.

The spear tip sank three inches into the water.

The next moment, using the spear as a fulcrum, his body arched backward like a taut bowstring until he was almost parallel to the sea. Simultaneously, he infused his legs with the Power of his Heart Image and kicked viciously upward.

This wasn’t any specific Martial Arts Technique, just a primal, instinctual reaction.

But combined with his Gravity Manipulation, it produced a marvelous effect.

The instant he bent backward, the direction of Gravity within a three-meter radius of him suddenly flipped from down to up.

The airborne Blood Wing’s Heavy Hammer strike, which had been plunging straight down, bizarrely curved upward by an inch the moment it entered the Gravity Field.

That one inch made all the difference.

Xu Wuyi’s kicking feet landed precisely on the inside of the Blood Wing’s arms.

THUD—!

With a muffled thud, the Blood Wing’s arms were knocked wide, leaving its entire torso exposed.

Xu Wuyi shot up like a spring, his right hand already pulling the spear from the water. Using the momentum of his ascent, he delivered an incredibly simple, direct thrust.

The spear lunged like a dragon.

The dark gold spear tip left a straight, luminous trail in the air as it aimed directly for the Blood Wing’s heart.

The Blood Wing’s face fell. With a powerful flap of its wings, it forcibly twisted its body in midair.

The spear tip grazed its ribs, tearing through its robe and carving a groove in its scaled skin deep enough to reveal bone.

Blood sprayed through the air.

Just then, the left Blood Wing finally broke through the Nether Mire and reached Xu Wuyi’s side.

It thrust a claw straight for his midsection.

Xu Wuyi had no time to retract his spear.

But he had no intention of retracting it in the first place.
