Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend

Chapter 1098 - 347: Desert and Ruins (Part 2)

Ian stepped towards the sand dunes, the sand beneath his feet becoming increasingly loose, sinking with each step. When he reached the center of the dunes, suddenly, the sandy ground began to collapse!

Quicksand!

But Ian remained calm, waving his magic wand—he cast the spell again.

"Firmamento!" (Earth Solidification)

Ian quickly cast a "Sand Solidification" spell, turning the quicksand into solid ground, the once loose sand instantly hardened like rock.

Then, he waved the magic wand again and recited "Sand Shifting Technique," gently removing the top layer of sand. As the sand and dust flew away, a massive stone structure gradually emerged. It was intricately carved, with dark golden runes embedded on the door lintel, radiating majesty and mystery despite the erosion of time.

"This is no ordinary ruin..."

Ian muttered to himself.

He stood steadily on top, looking down at the anomaly gradually revealing beneath his feet. Beneath the layer of sand, a massive stone slab could be faintly seen, covered in ancient hieroglyphics and sealing runes.

"There’s definitely something here."

Ian crouched down, his fingers gently touching the stone slab, a silver-gray magic power seeped into the cracks like flowing water. The runes on the slab lit up one by one, then quickly dimmed, and finally—

Boom!

The entire quicksand collapsed, unveiling a huge underground entrance. Stone steps stretched downwards, leading to an ancient palace buried under the yellow sand for who knows how many years.

The whispers became clearer, as if urging him to proceed.

"Come in... Wizard... Your reward awaits..."

Ian chuckled softly, stepping down the stairs.

"Alright, let’s see what ’glorious future’ you can offer me." Ian stepped forward slowly, pushing open the heavy stone door, and was greeted by an ancient and oppressive atmosphere.

The interior of the palace was far more magnificent than it appeared from outside.

It was somewhat vast and dark, with tall stone pillars supporting the dome, the walls inscribed with ancient hieroglyphics and magic runes, narrating the rise and fall of an ancient divine spirit.

Ian’s eyes swept over those hieroglyphics; being proficient in ancient magic languages, he meticulously deciphered the inscriptions, quickly uncovering key information.

"This place is the tomb of the divine spirit Set... Due to his rebellion and ambition, he was sealed here by the gods... To those who enter this place, if you hear his whispers, do not respond, lest you be corrupted by his will..."

Ian gradually pieced together a shocking message. The whispers around him arose again, this time more frantic and fervent: "Wizard! Save me! I’ll grant you boundless power! Make you the master of the world!"

Ian didn’t respond, simply continuing deeper into the palace. As he walked, he used his Magic Camera Staff to record the inscriptions and patterns on the walls, while also collecting samples from altars and pillars. He discovered that the air here was filled with a peculiar divine energy, with lingering divine power yet to be fully sealed.

"No rush, let me loot a bit and see what you have," Ian roamed the palace like a professional archaeologist, more so like a greedy Master of Magic Potions. He found several well-preserved alchemy tools, one being the "Eye of Set," said to absorb moonlight and convert it into alchemy energy; another was the "Heart of the Desert," a crystal containing desert divine power, extremely rare and the core material for crafting "Desert Summoning Potion."

He also discovered an ancient alchemy manuscript, with Set’s totem engraved on its cover. Flipping through a few pages, he found records of long-lost alchemy techniques and divine power transformation techniques.

"Studying this thing back home might yield some new formulas." He contentedly tucked the manuscript into his Magic Bag, while Set’s whispers became increasingly agitated.

"Save me! Save me! I shall grant you everything! You shall become my new Divine Favored!" Set was anxious, but Ian paid no heed, focusing on plundering the palace treasures.

"Chaos Cauldron"—a pitch-black alchemy crucible, containing Godblood that never dries, essential for making "Immortal Potion."

"Eye of the Storm"—a sapphire embedded at the top of a scepter, containing part of Set’s divine power, capable of controlling weather.

"Godslaying Dagger"—matching the one previously found in the Pharaoh’s Tomb, its blade inscribed with the curse "The Godslayer shall be slain by the gods."

"Book of Set"—containing Ancient Egypt’s most forbidden Dark Arts, including how to steal the authority of other gods. Ian, shopping as if at a supermarket, stuffed these items into his Money Bag, completely ignoring the increasingly hysterical whispers. At this moment, Set was not just anxious but also at his breaking point.

"Wizard! You are desecrating the gods’ domain!"

"Help me lift the seal! Or you shall face eternal curse!" he even started threatening Ian, seemingly unaware that this wouldn’t instill fear in him.

"Help you?" Ian finally stopped in his tracks, turning to look at the sealed door in the deepest part of the palace. He sneered, "Do I look like a fool easily swayed by tales of ’a glorious future’?"

As Ian’s words fell, the entire palace suddenly shook, the ancient runes on the walls lighting up one after the other, crimson light flowing through the stone seams like blood. The whispers instantly turned into a deafening roar:

"Defiler! You shall pay the price!"

Set was genuinely enraged. The next moment, the surface of the wall warped like water, and metallic-constructed guards broke free from the stone walls. Their bodies were a patchwork of black iron and bronze, with joints embedded with glowing Scarab Gemstones, their hollow eye sockets flickering with ghostly green flames.
