Crack, crack—the sound of metal scraping echoed through the palace as dozens of guards, wielding spears and scimitars, marched in unison towards Ian.
"Oh? Alchemy Puppets?" Ian raised an eyebrow, lightly waving his Magic Wand, releasing the Fire God’s Path, along with his exclusive magic, the Fiery Sun Expedition.
A torrential wave of heat surged forth, yet—as soon as the flames struck the metal guards, they dissipated like hitting an invisible barrier, leaving not even a scorch mark.
"Magic Immunity?" Ian squinted his eyes, "Interesting."
He was amazed.
The guards continued to advance, spears pointing directly at his throat.
"Alright, let’s change tactics."
Ian let out a cold laugh, retracting his Magic Wand into his sleeve, and instead, pulled out from the Money Bag—
A Six-Barreled Rotary Gatling Gun.
The gun was engraved with Greek Runes, each bullet in the chain plated with Mithril, and the bullet tips soaked in Blood of the Godslayer.
"Times have changed, Lord Set."
—rat-tat-tat-tat-tat!!
The barrel spun wildly as tongues of fire spewed, bullets poured forth like a torrential downpour!
The metal guards’ Magic Immunity meant nothing against the physical barrage, and the first row of guards was instantly blasted into smithereens, with shards of bronze and scraps of black iron flying everywhere!
"Is that all?" Ian advanced while continuing the onslaught, "I thought divine creations could withstand a few more seconds!"
"You damned Wizard! Once I’m free! I’ll torment you for ten thousand years!" Set’s rage echoed through the palace quickly, those scattered metal remnants began to writhe like living creatures, reintegrating into the walls. Soon after, brand-new guards clambered out of the stone walls, seemingly endless.
"Interesting! Looks like I almost overlooked a treasure!"
Ian continued to destroy these metal guards and frantically analyze the Magic Runes within the palace, finally finding the core rune controlling the recycling of the guards.
It was somewhere on the ceiling.
A stone slab.
This was the core of the guards’ operation.
"Core control rune!"
Ian leaped high, wrenching the entire slab from the dome! In the next moment, the metal guards, deprived of energy and rules, crumbled like sand.
"Thanks, Lord Set."
Ian stuffed the slab into the Money Bag and dashed towards the exit.
"I’m very satisfied with this parting gift!"
Of course, Ian had to run, because as soon as the slab fell into his hands, the entire palace began to collapse, with only Set’s seal remaining intact. His piercing shriek nearly shattered eardrums.
"You’ll regret this! Wizard! I’ll find you! Tear your soul apart!" Amongst these constant roars, Ian had already returned to the surface.
"Destroying my Divine Hall without rescuing me, you will surely be killed by me! I’m almost back!" The palace behind him began to shake violently, Set’s roar echoed across the entire desert. Outside, the tornado had dissipated, and the desert had returned to calm. Ian shook his bulging Money Bag excitedly, humming a song.
"This trip to Egypt was unexpectedly like a vacation."
He transformed into a Raven and flew once more into the sky, leaving behind only the tomb of Set reburied by the sands and a God of Ancient Egypt driven mad with fury.
Beneath the Desert Sea.
The discontented cries could still be heard.
"Wizard! I’ll tear your soul apart! I’ll make you burn under the eternal blazing sun!!" The sound of chains clashing echoed within the buried ruins.
Set’s Divine Power furiously assaulted the prison.
Yet he remained trapped.
