Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying
Chapter 1092 - 179: Paper AirplanesChapter 1092: Chapter 179: Paper Airplanes
On the black truck, Braun traced his finger over the map, measuring the distance to their destination.
"Get ready, after the next two intersections, turn right. We’re almost there."
"Is it just you from the Witch Pure Party?" Abigail asked tentatively, "Couldn’t even find an extra driver, so the heir has to handle it personally."
"There’s no choice." Braun sighed, "Everyone has their own secrets, and there are times when it’s inconvenient for others to follow."
In the midst of speaking, new instructions came through the earpiece. Braun listened attentively and then responded, "Yes."
His voice was almost identical to that of the man whose neck was snapped in the truck.
Abigail was startled suddenly, and the truck swayed momentarily on the road.
Fortunately, it was late at night and the road was deserted with only their truck, preventing any accidents.
After steadying the vehicle, Abigail couldn’t help but glance at Braun, relieved to see his face hadn’t changed.
"The destination has changed." After ending the call, Braun said, "Turn left up ahead."
"Why change locations?" Abigail asked warily, "Is there something wrong?"
"It’s normal." Braun smiled faintly, "People who do bad things secretly always feel like they have countless imaginary enemies, so they try every possible way to hide."
Eventually, the truck stopped in a desolate industrial area. As they approached the iron gate, the camera on the gate turned towards the vehicle, and in the driver’s seat, Abigail looked across silently, expressionless.
The iron gate slowly slid open.
The truck drove in, where a man in a yellow uniform was standing at the roadside directing them to drive the truck into a very spacious warehouse.
The warehouse was brightly lit, with a dozen movers transporting goods back and forth, and many boxes taller than a person were placed inside.
Abigail frowned: They’re bringing kidnapped wizards to such a place?
But at this moment, the truck couldn’t turn around and could only drive into the warehouse along the central aisle, slowly coming to a stop, the engine humming loudly in such a space.
"Swish!"
The iron gates on both sides suddenly fell, and Abigail was startled and had just reached for her magic wand when the movers suddenly darted into those boxes with extreme agility and slammed the lids shut.
In the next second—
Blinding white light engulfed the entire truck from all directions! The light was intense enough to scorch the retinas, rendering everything inside the truck devoid of shadows and contours, leaving only a sheet of stark white.
Abigail reacted swiftly by ducking, her eyes stung by the white light so she couldn’t see anything, still clutching her magic wand tightly.
Yet soon after, a sharp, distorted high-frequency hum exploded from the enormous speakers on the walls!
This sound seemed to drill directly into the skull, stirring the brain, causing intense dizziness and nausea.
"Close your ears—"
Abigail hadn’t finished the spell, when the next wave of attacks impatiently inundated inside and outside the truck.
"Buzz—"
A strange vibrating sound arose, mixed within the sonic assault, nearly unnoticed.
Yet in the next second, Abigail covered her ears, letting out a painful groan.
A terrifying sensation arose from within her body—she felt her magic power boiling uncontrollably like ice thrown into boiling water, colliding violently!
Her body suddenly felt sharp, needle-like pain, her temples throbbed fiercely, her vision began to darken, and a strong urge to vomit surged to her throat.
She trembled all over, curled up in the small space beneath the driver’s seat, gasping for air, her face instantly drained of blood.
Meanwhile, Braun’s body suddenly went rigid, and the sparkle in his eyes rapidly faded.
His tall figure seemed to lose all strength, slumping directly onto the seat, motionless.
A second, two seconds... five seconds... a full three minutes later, the bizarre attack finally ceased.
The truck’s door was roughly pulled open, and a group of people wearing protective masks and fully armed dragged the two of them from the truck like hauling sacks, throwing them heavily onto the cold concrete ground.
Abigail’s eyes were unfocused, letting out a faint moan.
"Click!"
Special metal shackles locked their wrists and ankles, with fine needles on the shackles slowly releasing drugs, injecting into their veins.
Abigail only felt the pain seemed to lessen, a peace that was impossible to resist swept her whole body, her thoughts sinking into a thick, sweet honey, even the thought of raising a finger felt so laborious.
She barely turned her eyes to look at Braun, but saw the previously confident fellow looking dead, his eyes half-closed, his chest showing no noticeable movement.
Just then, she heard the crisp sound of high heels tapping the ground, approaching leisurely.
Liayana Lightford emerged slowly from the shadows deep within the warehouse, stopping before the two collapsed individuals.
She wore a neat business suit, a white lab coat draped over her shoulders, her face carrying a half-smiling expression.
"Thank you both for walking right in, saving us the trouble of capturing, without having to deal with that disgusting Bloren anymore."
She bent slightly, her gaze first sweeping over Braun who was limp and seemingly lifeless, then landing on Abigail, pale and drenched in cold sweat, the corner of her mouth drawing up a confident smile.
"You wizards are always so arrogant, thinking you can come and go freely in our territory, while the foolish... what’s the word for it?... oh, ’Muggle’! Foolish Muggles are helpless against you."
"But clearly, reality proves otherwise, doesn’t it?"
She straightened up, assessing them with the eyes of evaluating experimental subjects.
"Welcome to my place, both of you. I hope you... can quickly adapt to the environment here."
Liayana Lightford waved her hand, signaling her subordinates to take the two important "samples" away.
Two armed personnel immediately stepped forward, roughly lifting the almost exhausted Abigail.
Another two approached Braun, who was limp on the ground, preparing to carry him away.
As they exerted force, one person’s actions halted mid-motion, furrowing his brow, looking up to Liayana:
"Ma’am, this man... seems off, he appears..."
Before he finished speaking, everyone simultaneously heard a strange tapping sound.
Knock, knock, knock.
Like someone politely knocking, yet the sound emanated from the glass skylight high up in the warehouse.
Everyone instinctively looked up. They saw a pure white paper airplane continuously tapping against the thick reinforced glass, looking very eerie.
Liayana’s expression changed suddenly, grabbing the walkie-talkie and shouting angrily: "Turn on all the machines!"
The person at the other end was startled: "But you’re all still inside."
"Ignore it! Now—"
Her words were cut off by a sudden anomaly!
Boom—!!!
Countless identical white paper airplanes burst simultaneously through every window of the warehouse from all directions like a disturbed swarm of bees!
Glass shards rained down like a storm, refracting countless dangerous gleams in the light.
But that was not the most terrifying part.
Attached tightly beneath the wings of each intruding paper airplane was a small bomb flickering with unstable red light!
The flock of white planes brought with them the deathly roar and dense red glow, resembling lethal locusts, instantly filling the entire warehouse space!
Liayana stared up at the dense cluster of red dots, completely frozen.
