Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying
Chapter 1093 - 180: Squadron LandingChapter 1093: Chapter 180: Squadron Landing
The time inside the warehouse seemed to be stretched and frozen at this moment.
Everyone looked up in the same posture at the paper planes circling overhead, flashing demon-like red lights and making a fluttering sound.
The sound was not loud, yet it hammered densely on everyone’s hearts, drowning out breaths and overwhelming heartbeats.
The bombs hadn’t dropped directly, but this suspenseful danger was more nerve-wracking than a sudden explosion that throws people into chaos.
The armed personnel froze in place, not daring to move rashly, only able to look up in horror at the cloud of death overhead.
The composure on Liayana’s face disappeared, replaced by panic and helplessness.
Just then, Braun suddenly opened his eyes without any warning, stood up as though nothing had happened, and even had the leisure to pat the dust off his clothes.
Under the silent and horrified gaze of everyone, he complained as if still shaken:
"What a terrifying method, I almost thought I was going to die!"
He said lightly, "Luckily, I knew you had these gadgets long ago and took some... preventive measures in advance."
Saying this, with a smug smile lingering on his lips, he pulled open his collar and tapped twice on his chest with his knuckles, producing a crisp metallic sound!
Abigail’s pupils shrank sharply, only then seeing clearly that Braun was wearing a peculiar inner armor woven from extremely fine metallic threads, some areas even embedded with thin metal plates.
An armed personnel showed a sudden realization—no wonder this guy felt off in weight and touch when lifted earlier!
But mentioning this matter now was meaningless.
"Though I am a bit curious."
Braun put on his clothes, fixed his collar, and asked with a smile: "Ms. Wrightford, how did you know there was something wrong with this truck and made arrangements ahead of time?"
While speaking, he glanced at Abigail.
The two people still holding Abigail shivered all over and involuntarily released her, causing the weakened woman to slump, her head still aching as if being hammered with an iron.
Despite every part of her body aching unbearably, Abigail’s slow mind was exceptionally clear at this moment—
Once Braun confirmed she conspired with Wrightford, Abigail herself would also become a target of attack!
Yet she was too exhausted to struggle further, collapsing to the ground quietly awaiting her fate.
Liayana Wrightford had no intention of excluding others either; she was about to speak when the opposite person cheerfully said:
"Don’t lie! Unless you’re sure all of you can resist the power of Veritaserum... Otherwise, if the statements don’t match, I promise you’ll regret your reckless words."
This was said lightly too.
But the power of language never lay in how loud the voice was or how frightening the words, but in what he could accomplish.
Liayana’s face showed a struggle, finally she honestly said: "The bar they went to earlier... The bartender is my person."
So from Glanwhite leading Abigail out, to the severely damaged car recovering and driving out again, the entire scene was witnessed by the bartender.
Braun sighed: "This is why I hate cities—you can never figure out how many invisible eyes are hiding."
Suddenly, hoarse screams came from outside the warehouse.
Liayana Wrightford’s face changed drastically, her feet subconsciously moving half a step back, yet before her heel touched the ground she sharply heard a shout:
"Don’t move!"
The sound exploded at the warehouse entrance!
The next moment, a group of figures entered like specters. They wore uniform dark robes, moving swiftly and silently, magic wands held level, tips locked on every person inside the warehouse.
"Bang bang bang bang bang bang!"
A string of explosions erupted, turning all the audio and equipment inside and outside the warehouse into scrap metal.
The Witch Pure Party... had arrived!
...
Delaine stood expressionlessly at the entrance, his cold gaze sweeping over the entire scene before settling on Braun, speaking in a deep voice:
"Are you okay?"
Braun moved his neck with a slight "click", his face regaining that slightly cavalier composure.
He grinned: "I’m fine. Thanks to your timely arrival."
Then, Braun raised his hand pointing to the pale-faced Liayana Wrightford.
"This woman, from the Environmental Agency, Prometheus’s key contact, she’s a important figure."
No more orders needed, two members of the Witch Pure Party immediately stepped forward and locked Liayana securely.
She weakly struggled a bit but wisely gave up resisting after assessing their strength.
"I’m a government official! I also regularly talk to the First Lady!"
While being escorted out the door, Liayana shouted loudly, trembling: "If I suddenly disappear, the American Government will not ignore it! Aren’t you most afraid of exposure?"
The crowd exchanged glances, someone quietly chuckled mockingly.
In the end, it was Braun who courteously said: "For fifteen dollars, an official gets shot on the way home by robbers—wouldn’t that be just another story in the United States?"
Liayana’s face instantly lost all color.
Beside stood another member of the Witch Pure Party holding back laughter, echoing: "Not at all, certainly not."
As they left, another subordinate strode quickly towards Delaine, quietly requesting instructions:
"Sir, how should we handle the remaining personnel? Should they all be ’accidentally shot’ too?"
His gaze swept across those armed personnel rooted in place by the Witch Pure Party’s wands.
Before Delaine could respond, Braun casually took over, tilting his head and lightly asked:
"Is there any reason to keep them? No matter how much food is stored at Gray Castle, it shouldn’t be wasted!"
The chill in those words sent a cold shiver down Abigail’s spine, harder to bear than death.
Delaine’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, seemingly displeased with Braun’s overly blunt cruelty.
But he did not voice any objections, merely waving his hand silently.
Swoosh—
The paper planes that had been circling at the warehouse roof dove down with a shrill cry like falcons spotting mice!
Boom boom boom boom boom!!!
The continuous explosion sounds and blinding flames instantly swallowed everything.
The wizards wielded magic wands, forming an invisible transparent barrier, on one side were struggling, screaming Prometheus members, opposite were silent Witch Pure Party like Death itself.
As Braun lifted Abigail up, she involuntarily shivered, nearly throwing him off.
