Chapter 34: Yan Xiaobai’s Cat-Style Disco

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Yan Xiaobai’s Cat-Style Disco

Yan Luoxi burst into Gu Yizhou’s bedroom and, with a mighty leap, pounced onto the large bed.

"MEOW~!"

’Dog man, you wanted me to behave and not cause trouble, didn’t you?’

’Well, I won’t!’

’Take that for bullying me! And that for taking advantage of me!’

’I’m jumping!!!’

’Check out my Yan Xiaobai kitty disco!’

She started to jump and bounce wildly on the bed. Add some DJ music, and you’d have a full-blown kitty rave!

Before long, the quilt and sheets were in complete disarray, and the pillows were covered in the white fur she’d shed.

...

About ten minutes later.

"Phew..."

"MEOW~"

"I’m so tired!"

After all that bouncing around, Yan Luoxi was so exhausted she flopped bonelessly onto the bed.

’It’s because I’m a cat now. This body is just too small; no wonder I’m so tired after just a little bouncing!’

’No wonder people always say cats are lazy and hate moving around. Now I’m really feeling it!’

’But I can vouch for all the cats out there now. It’s not that they’re lazy—their stamina just can’t keep up. This is seriously exhausting!’

She lifted her little head, looked at her masterpiece, and nodded with great satisfaction.

For some reason, she found herself looking forward to the expression on Gu Yizhou’s face when he got back and saw this!

Heh heh heh...

Meanwhile, Gu Yizhou had taken a cab to the Changxing Street area on Dongge Road.

It was a street full of bars. Both sides were lined with either high-energy nightclubs or chill music lounges. The Night Drunk Bar, where Song Sisi was, was located at the very end of the street.

The entrance to the street was too narrow for the taxi to get through.

So, the driver had no choice but to drop Gu Yizhou off at the entrance, leaving him to walk the rest of the way.

After a five or six-minute walk, Gu Yizhou finally reached the entrance of the Night Drunk Bar.

He had messaged Song Sisi beforehand, so he knew which booth she was in and headed straight inside.

As he walked through a long, narrow corridor, he could hear the deafening music from a distance, punctuated by the shrieks of men and women.

Under the dim lights, the bar’s atmosphere was feverish and exhilarating. Young men and women writhed wildly to the pounding rhythm beneath the flashing neon lights.

The lighting design was the bar’s centerpiece. A dazzling array of colorful beams shot out from every angle. Interweaving red and green lights seemed to cast a dreamlike atmosphere over the entire bar.

In the center of the bar was a huge dance floor where go-go dancers in skimpy, almost revealing, outfits writhed on stage to the beat. The air was thick with the scent of hormones.

The air was also heavy with the rich smell of liquor and smoke, plunging everyone into a seemingly psychedelic world. Nearly everyone there was indulging in the endless pleasure of a hedonistic night out.

Gu Yizhou stood on the outskirts of the main floor, scanning the crowd for any sign of Song Sisi.

Fortunately, Song Sisi had already sent him her general location on WeChat. That, combined with her brother Song Tao’s towering, burly frame—which was conspicuous even in the dim lighting—meant that Gu Yizhou quickly spotted them from afar.

Without a second thought, Gu Yizhou pushed through the throng of young people venting their stress and emotions, making his way directly to Song Sisi.

"Sisi!"

Gu Yizhou shouted.

It couldn’t be helped; the music was so loud that you had to yell to be heard at all.

Hearing his shout, Song Sisi turned around. The moment she saw him, her eyes lit up as if she had just found her pillar of strength.

"Brother Yizhou, you’re here!"

She hurried over to his side, her voice tinged with grievance.

Gu Yizhou couldn’t quite hear her, but he could guess what she’d said by reading her lips, so he just nodded.

"Sisi, should we get your brother out of here now, or what’s the plan?"

Because the music was so loud, Gu Yizhou had to lean in close to her ear to speak.

The warm breath he exhaled tickled her earlobe, and in an instant, a blush spread across her face.

She didn’t hear a word he said. She just stood there, dazed and momentarily at a loss.

Gu Yizhou was puzzled by her sudden daze.

Luckily, the dim lighting in the bar prevented him from getting a clear look at her face; otherwise, he probably would have figured out why.

"Sisi? Sisi...?"

Gu Yizhou leaned close to her ear and called out again.

"Huh?"

Song Sisi snapped back to reality.

She turned to him with a dazed look. "Brother Yizhou, wh... what is it?"

Seeing her reaction, Gu Yizhou frowned slightly. He didn’t dwell on it, though, simply assuming she hadn’t heard him over the noise.

"Sisi, let’s get your brother out of here first!"

He repeated, leaning close to her ear again.

"O... Okay!"

This time, Sisi didn’t space out. She nodded quickly. "Brother Yizhou, I’ll help!"

...

Afterward, with the help of the bar staff, the two of them used every ounce of their strength to finally haul Sisi’s brother out of the bar.

That’s right!

Damn it!

’I have no idea what they fed Song Tao growing up. The guy was nearly two meters tall and had to weigh at least two hundred kilograms—heavier than a hog ready for slaughter!’

’Gu Yizhou couldn’t help but wonder if the guy had been raised on pig feed.’

Gu Yizhou leaned against a pillar at the bar’s entrance, gasping for breath. Damn, that was exhausting!

However, the bar staff had only helped them get the man to the door. The rest of the distance—from the bar’s entrance to the main street—was their problem.

There were two of them, Gu Yizhou and Song Sisi. Normally, two people might be able to handle two hundred kilograms, but a drunk person is a dead weight—heavier and much more awkward to manage. He was completely out of it; you couldn’t expect him to cooperate at all.

It was several hundred meters!

The thought alone was enough to give Gu Yizhou a headache.

"Brother Yizhou, thank you for all your hard work. Here, have some water..."

Sisi handed Gu Yizhou an unopened bottle of water, her face a mixture of embarrassment and apology.

It couldn’t be helped!

Her brother was just a little too... "sturdy." As a girl, she couldn’t offer much physical strength, which meant the burden would fall almost entirely on Gu Yizhou. The thought made her feel terrible.

"GLUG—GLUG—"

Gu Yizhou took the water, twisted off the cap, and tilted his head back, downing several large gulps...
