"Every ending is the beginning of another hunt."
Morning arrived.
A cool breeze drifted through the forest.
The camp was already awake.
Darius looked over the hunters.
"Move out."
The hunters immediately packed their belongings.
Within minutes...
The camp was gone.
It was as if they had never been there.
The group resumed their journey.
Kael walked near the back of the group.
His broken spear rested across his shoulder.
His thoughts never left the strange mark.
He looked at his hand.
Nothing.
No glow.
No symbol.
Just his own skin.
"Still thinking about it?"
Kael looked beside him.
Lyra smiled.
"Your hand."
Kael sighed.
"Can you blame me?"
She laughed softly.
"Not really."
They continued walking.
For a while...
Neither of them spoke.
Then Kael noticed something.
"The forest feels..."
He looked around.
"Different."
Lyra nodded.
"It is."
"No beasts."
"No growls."
"No movement."
She looked ahead.
"We're close to Guild territory."
Kael frowned.
"How does that change anything?"
Lyra smiled.
"Most beasts are smart."
"They know where hunters gather."
"And they know when to stay away."
Kael looked around again.
For the first time since entering the forest...
It actually felt peaceful.
The trees gradually became thinner.
The thick canopy opened.
Warm sunlight poured onto the path.
A gentle breeze replaced the cold air of the forest.
Then...
The trees ended.
Kael stopped walking.
His eyes widened.
Beyond the forest stretched a vast city surrounded by towering stone walls.
Massive gates stood open.
Countless hunters walked through them.
Some carried enormous swords.
Others wore gleaming armor.
Merchants pushed wagons filled with supplies.
Children ran through the streets laughing.
Watchtowers overlooked the entire city.
High above them all...
A colossal building stood proudly at the city's center.
Its banner swayed in the wind.
A sword crossed with a beast's fang.
Kael stared in silence.
"So..."
"This is the Hunter's Guild."
Lyra smiled.
"It is."
Darius continued walking without looking back.
The other hunters followed.
Kael took one last look at the forest behind him.
The place where his journey had begun.
Then he turned toward the city.
With a steady breath...
He stepped through the gates.
The hunt had ended.
His new life...
Was about to begin.
