The last trace of blood disappeared into the black crescent, and warmth spread through Kael's body. The wound along his side closed first, followed by the cuts across his chest until the pain completely disappeared.
Kael took a deep breath and rolled his shoulder. Nothing hurt anymore. He tightened his grip around his sword and looked toward the beast.
The creature suddenly staggered.
Its silver aura flickered violently before collapsing, the overwhelming pressure around its body disappearing until only a bronze aura remained.
The beast stared at its own hands.
Then it looked at Kael.
Its expression twisted with rage.
It charged.
Kael waited until the last moment before shifting aside, allowing the first claw to pass before catching the second against his sword.
CLANG!
The beast immediately followed with another strike, but Kael redirected it and stepped forward, forcing the creature to turn with him instead of allowing it to establish its rhythm.
The beast swung again.
Kael ducked beneath the claw and moved with the motion, his sword coming up as the beast twisted away.
Mirage Step.
Kael disappeared from its front and reappeared beside it.
The beast reacted quickly and unleashed Crescent Claw, bronze mana coating both claws as they tore toward him.
Kael slipped between the attacks, turning his body just enough for the first claw to miss before stepping past the second.
The beast spun after him.
Kael was already moving.
Their weapons collided.
CLANG!
The beast pushed forward, trying to overwhelm him with its strength, but Kael held his ground and forced the claw away before stepping inside its reach.
The beast suddenly slammed its claw downward.
"Double Impact!"
BOOM!
The first burst shook the ground beneath Kael's feet, but he had already pulled his blade away from the contact.
The second explosion tore through the space where he had been standing.
Kael emerged from the dust without a scratch.
The beast roared and charged through the smoke.
Kael met it head-on.
The beast swung.
Kael blocked.
CLANG!
Another claw followed immediately.
Kael shifted his blade, redirected the attack, and stepped around the creature before it could recover.
The beast turned and attacked again.
Kael's movements were faster now.
Cleaner.
Every strike the beast threw was met by a response, and every attempt to force him backward ended with the beast losing ground instead.
Crescent Claw came again.
Kael moved through it.
The beast tried Double Impact.
Kael broke the contact before the second burst could activate.
It charged.
Kael sidestepped.
It turned.
Kael was already behind it.
The beast spun violently, but Kael had moved again, appearing at its flank with Mirage Step before calmly raising his sword to intercept another desperate claw.
CLANG!
The beast froze for a moment.
Kael pushed the claw aside.
The creature stumbled.
Kael didn't pursue with a strike.
He simply walked forward.
The beast backed away.
It suddenly roared and rushed him again, throwing both claws forward with everything it had left.
Kael stepped into the attack.
He slipped past the first claw, caught the second against his blade, and redirected it away before turning with the movement.
The beast tried to follow.
Kael vanished with Mirage Step.
It turned.
Too late.
Kael stood several steps behind it.
The beast stopped.
Its heavy breathing filled the clearing.
Kael remained completely unharmed.
He looked down at his healed side for a moment before raising his eyes toward the beast.
The difference was undeniable.
Before, Kael had been fighting simply to survive.
Now, the Bronze beast couldn't even touch him.
The creature stared at him, its bronze aura flickering around its body.
Kael slowly raised his sword.
"Come."
The beast lowered its body.
Its eyes burned with rage.
