Hunt Race

Chapter 147: Absolute Dominance

The hunter's breathing had become heavier.

His grip tightened around the glaive as he forced himself forward again, refusing to acknowledge what was happening to his body.

He swung.

Kael stepped aside.

The blade passed harmlessly by.

The hunter immediately reversed the glaive and attacked from the opposite direction, but Kael shifted with the movement, letting the weapon miss before calmly stepping around him.

The hunter spun.

Kael was already there.

The hunter thrust the glaive forward.

Kael knocked the shaft aside with his sword and stepped closer.

The hunter retreated.

Kael followed.

The distance between them barely changed.

The hunter's breathing grew rougher.

He suddenly planted his foot.

Bronze aura surged around the glaive.

"Arc—"

His voice cut off.

The aura flickered.

The hunter's body suddenly sagged.

His breath escaped in a harsh gasp as the strength seemed to drain from his limbs all at once.

He caught himself with the glaive before his knee touched the ground.

For a moment, he simply stood there, breathing heavily.

Kael stared at him.

Then he burst out laughing.

"Hahaha!"

The hunter's face turned red.

Kael covered his mouth briefly, but the laughter continued.

"You couldn't even finish it."

The hunter glared at him.

"Shut up!"

He forced himself upright and tried again.

Bronze aura gathered around his body.

He raised the glaive.

"Severing—"

His arm trembled.

The aura collapsed before the technique could form.

The hunter's breathing became even heavier.

Kael laughed again.

This time, he didn't bother hiding it.

"Hahaha!"

The crowd began reacting.

"He's completely exhausted!"

"He can't even activate his techniques anymore!"

"His stamina is disappearing!"

The hunter's face burned with humiliation.

He gripped the glaive with both hands and charged anyway.

Kael watched him approach.

The hunter swung with everything he had left.

Kael simply stepped aside.

The glaive missed.

The hunter stumbled forward and barely managed to stop himself.

He turned slowly.

Kael was standing several steps away, smiling.

The hunter raised his weapon again.

His arms were shaking.

Kael walked toward him.

The hunter tried to retreat.

One step.

Then another.

But his legs were becoming heavier with every movement.

Kael stopped in front of him.

The hunter looked at him, breathing hard.

Kael's grin widened.

"You really should've listened to my warning."

The hunter's fingers tightened around the glaive.

Kael raised his sword.

This time, he was done playing.
