Hunt Race

Chapter 192: The Meeting

Kael arrived at the guild entrance early the next morning, his black shirt fitted beneath a dark travel coat that reached just below his waist. His black trousers were tucked neatly into sturdy boots, while his blade rested securely at his waist. Darius's Silver Grade dagger was fastened to his other side.

He looked toward the entrance and waited.

Not long after, Cherry appeared.

She wore a fitted black outfit that allowed her to move freely, with a short dark cloak hanging from her shoulders. Her twin swords rested at her waist, and her long hair was tied back neatly, keeping it away from her face.

Cherry spotted Kael and walked toward him.

“Wow, you are early. I wanted to test Full Moon on a certain someone's roof,” Cherry said with a smile.

Kael glanced at her from head to toe before looking back at her face. “I believe you also have a roof. Mine isn't for testing.”

“Hehe, you got balls now,” Cherry said with a smile.

Kael ignored her and tapped the shaft of his sword. “Can I get the details of the mission now?”

“I already told you... it's an escort mission,” Cherry said while still smiling.

Kael rolled his eyes. “Who are we escorting?”

Cherry ignored him. “You will know soon enough.”

Kael stared at her with a thoughtful expression. “What's in it for me?”

Cherry stared at him before laughing. “Well, you get to keep this beautiful girl company.”

“Bye.”

Kael immediately turned around.

Cherry immediately gave him a big grin and raised her fist. “Guess I'm testing someone's roof after all.”

Kael stopped and sighed. “Seriously? Ain't no way I'm working for free.”

Cherry shrugged. “That's your business. I have the bigger fist here, so you do what I say.”

Kael cursed. “Bigger fist, my ass. Just you wait till I get stronger than you.”

Cherry immediately laughed. “Keep dreaming.”

Her demeanor and aura suddenly changed.

“Gear up. We are leaving. The escort will join us on the way,” she said with a serious expression.

Kael rolled his eyes before following her. “At least tell me who we are escorting.”

Cherry didn't even look back. “No.”

“Do I get a reward at least?” Kael asked with a tired expression.

“If we come across anything useful, we'll split it 50/50 if I'm in a good mood,” Cherry said with a serious expression.

She suddenly stopped.

A tall man appeared in front of them.

He stood well over six feet, his broad shoulders giving him an imposing presence. He wore a dark leather coat over a fitted grey tunic, with black trousers tucked into heavy boots. A large sword rested across his back, its thick hilt visible above his shoulder.

His short brown hair was neatly trimmed, while a faint scar ran from his right eyebrow down toward his cheek. His eyes were sharp and calm, carrying the look of someone who had spent years in dangerous situations.

He stopped a few steps away from them and looked between Kael and Cherry.

Cherry's expression remained calm.

Kael, however, narrowed his eyes slightly.

Cherry turned to Kael and said, “Here is who we are escorting.”
