The shadow returned to the forest where his partner was waiting.
Behind him were four hunters.
Two of them carried themselves with the confidence of Silver Ranks, while the other two were Bronze Rank hunters. Their weapons were already prepared, and their eyes were fixed on the road ahead.
The waiting shadow glanced at them.
“Did you get them?”
The other shadow nodded.
“I managed to get two Silver and two Bronze Ranks.”
He looked toward the four hunters.
“Let's see if they're enough.”
The first shadow gave a faint smile.
“Good.”
The two shadows disappeared into the trees, leaving the four hunters to move toward the road.
---
Kael, Cherry, and the young man continued their journey.
The road ahead suddenly became quiet.
Cherry stopped.
Kael noticed immediately.
“What is it?”
Cherry didn't answer.
Her eyes remained fixed ahead.
Several figures slowly stepped onto the road.
Four hunters.
Two Silver Ranks.
Two Bronze Ranks.
The young man immediately stepped back.
“What is going on?”
Cherry stepped forward.
“Stay behind me.”
One of the Silver Rank hunters smiled.
“An Elite Silver, a Silver, and a Bronze.”
His gaze moved toward Cherry.
“You're Cherry, aren't you?”
Cherry's expression remained relaxed.
“You know me?”
“We've heard about you.”
The hunter drew his weapon.
“And we came prepared.”
Cherry smiled.
“Did you?”
The four hunters suddenly charged.
The first Silver Rank swung his sword toward Cherry with enough force to split a tree.
Cherry didn't even draw her swords.
She simply stepped to the side.
The blade passed inches from her.
Before the hunter could recover, Cherry drove her palm into his chest.
BOOM!
The impact sent him flying across the road.
He crashed through two trees before finally hitting the ground.
The remaining three froze for a moment.
Cherry slowly lowered her hand.
“Who's next?”
The second Silver Rank gritted his teeth and rushed forward.
He swung his weapon repeatedly, forcing Cherry backward.
She avoided every strike with effortless movements, twisting her body around each attack without drawing her swords.
Then she suddenly stepped inside his guard.
Her knee slammed into his stomach.
The man's body folded.
Cherry grabbed the back of his head and drove him into the ground.
BOOM!
The road cracked beneath him.
The two Bronze Rank hunters exchanged nervous glances.
Cherry looked at them.
“Are you two coming?”
One of them charged.
Cherry disappeared.
The Bronze Rank hunter's eyes widened.
She appeared beside him and struck his ribs with the side of her palm.
He was thrown several meters away.
The final hunter raised his weapon and backed away.
Cherry walked toward him.
His hands began trembling.
“Wait...”
Cherry tilted her head.
“Okay.”
He suddenly turned and ran.
Cherry sighed.
She took one step.
BOOM!
Her body shot forward.
In an instant, she appeared directly in front of him.
The hunter stopped abruptly.
“I waited, so why are you running?” Cherry said with a smile.
She struck him once.
His body flew backward and rolled across the dirt before coming to a stop.
Silence returned to the road.
All four hunters were down.
Cherry dusted her hands.
“Weak.”
Kael stood there staring at her with a smile.
The young man looked stunned.
Cherry smiled at Kael.
“You were saying something earlier about getting stronger than me?”
Kael replied with a smile, “I am very confident in myself.”
Cherry laughed.
“You'd better be. For the time being, you can continue being my plaything.”
Her expression suddenly changed.
Her hand moved toward her bow as she turned toward the forest.
She raised it and pointed between the trees.
“Now that the cannon fodder is down, why don't you show yourself?”
