Cherry tightened her grip around her bow.
The Peak Silver stood several meters away, completely motionless.
Neither side made a sound.
For several seconds, they simply stared at one another.
Then Cherry stepped forward.
“Gale Shot!”
Whoosh!
The arrow tore through the air like a streak of wind.
The shadow tilted his head slightly.
The arrow passed harmlessly beside him.
Cherry's eyes narrowed.
Without hesitation, she fired another Gale Shot while simultaneously reaching for her dagger.
The arrow flew straight toward the shadow.
At the same time, Cherry flicked her wrist.
“Blind Spot.”
The dagger disappeared from sight as it followed the arrow's trajectory, concealed within its wake.
This time, the shadow moved.
His hand reached behind his back and pulled out a long glaive.
Clang!
With a single effortless swing, he sliced the incoming arrow cleanly in half.
But that wasn't all.
Using the momentum of his swing, the glaive continued forward and struck the hidden dagger out of the air.
The dagger spun away and embedded itself into the ground several meters behind him.
The entire sequence happened in one fluid motion.
The shadow hadn't even broken a sweat.
Cherry's expression hardened.
He's good.
Very good.
Before she could launch another attack, Kael moved.
His blade flashed as he activated Mirage Step.
Shing!
His figure vanished.
A heartbeat later, he appeared directly behind the shadow.
Kael swung his blade in a wide arc, aiming straight for his opponent's back.
But the shadow reacted instantly.
He twisted his body just enough for the blade to pass harmlessly beside him.
Then his fist shot backward.
Kael's eyes widened.
He barely managed to raise his sword.
CLANG!
The fist collided with the flat of his blade.
The impact sent Kael sliding backward several meters.
His boots carved lines into the ground before he finally stopped himself.
Kael stared at his sword.
His hands trembled slightly from the force.
“What...?”
He looked up.
The shadow's fist had changed.
Metal covered his hand and forearm, gleaming beneath the light.
The shadow grinned.
“Iron Fist.”
Kael's expression became serious.
That attack hadn't just been powerful.
It had been incredibly fast.
From the back, Robert watched the exchange while gripping his sword tightly.
He had expected the Peak Silver to be strong.
But seeing it firsthand was completely different.
They're not even fighting seriously yet...
Cherry raised her bow again.
“Gale Shot!”
Another arrow flew.
Then another.
And another.
Cherry began firing from different angles, constantly changing her position.
One arrow came from the front.
Another from the side.
A third curved toward the shadow from behind.
The shadow calmly moved through the barrage.
He blocked one with his glaive.
Dodged another.
Deflected a third.
He never once counterattacked.
Cherry's eyes became colder.
He's testing me.
She understood what was happening.
The shadow wasn't trying to defeat her.
He was studying her.
Learning her movements.
Her timing.
Her habits.
And Cherry was doing the same.
She watched every movement of the glaive.
Every shift of his feet.
Every twitch of his shoulders.
Every time he chose to dodge instead of block.
Neither side wanted to reveal their full strength.
Kael slowly raised his blade again.
Cherry drew another arrow.
Across from them, the shadow lowered his glaive slightly.
A strange silence settled over the battlefield.
They were all waiting.
Watching.
Measuring.
Searching for the smallest opening.
