Hunt Race

Chapter 198: The Counter

Cherry's battle instincts screamed at her.

She immediately brought her hand down to the ground. A tint of silver appeared around her palm.

“Full Moon!”

The technique shook the ground, causing the shadow to lose his footing for a moment, but he quickly recovered.

Cherry used that brief instant to make a sharp turn from the ground. With a dagger in her hand, she activated Blindspots.

The dagger collided with the glaive.

CLANGGGGG!

The impact was stunning, but the dagger was knocked away.

Cherry used that brief instant and activated Wind Step, creating a little distance before firing Gale Shot at the incoming glaive.

BOOM!

The arrow collided with the glaive.

The impact finally broke the technique.

Cherry created more distance and cursed inwardly.

“FUCK, an ability user.”

She continued backing away.

The shadow didn't pursue.

Instead, he looked up and stared Cherry directly in the eyes.

A smile appeared on his face.

“Not bad. Not many people have survived my Second Step ability on their first try.”

Cherry remained focused on him.

She said nothing.

Several meters away, Kael tightened his grip around his sword.

The Elite Silver stood before him, completely relaxed.

Robert stepped forward and placed himself between them.

“Stay behind me.”

Kael frowned.

“I didn't ask you to protect me.”

Robert glanced back with a disdainful expression.

“Don't misunderstand. I'm protecting myself. You're just in the way.”

Kael rolled his eyes.

“Whatever.”

The Elite Silver suddenly moved.

Robert's expression sharpened.

He raised his sword.

CLANG!

The Elite Silver's fist collided with his blade.

Robert's arms trembled from the impact, but he didn't retreat.

Instead, he twisted his sword and redirected the fist before immediately swinging toward the man's ribs.

The Elite Silver leaned backward.

The blade passed across his coat.

Robert followed with another strike.

Then another.

The shadow blocked the first and avoided the second, but Robert continued pressing him, forcing him to give ground.

The shadow created some distance between himself and Robert.

Then, unexpectedly, he laughed.

“You want to use a blade against me?”

Robert's expression remained cold.

The shadow slowly took a deep breath.

“Iron Body.”

The moment those words left his mouth, a metallic sheen spread across his entire body.

His skin hardened.

His muscles became coated in a layer of dark silver metal, covering him from head to toe. Even his face looked as though it had been forged from steel.

Robert's eyes narrowed.

“You're only an Elite Silver. How can you control a variation of the Earth Element?”

His grip tightened around his sword.

“As far as I know, you need to reach Peak Silver before you can even begin touching the elements.”

The shadow smiled.

“I can't.”

He raised his arm and examined the metallic coating covering his skin.

“At least, not yet.”

Robert's eyes narrowed further.

The shadow tapped his chest with one finger.

“This is just my ability.”

Kael's eyes narrowed slightly.

An ability user?

He stared at the shadow in silence.

There was something deeply unsettling about the man's calmness.

Kael's expression became serious.

These guys aren't simple.

The shadow suddenly turned his attention toward him.

He raised one hand and curled his fingers, gesturing for Robert to come forward.

“Come.”

His smile widened.

“Let me test the sharpness of your sword.”
