The Shadow emerged from the dust.
His eyes immediately fell on the cut across his chest.
He touched it with two fingers, examining the blood on them.
“Well… that came as a surprise.”
He looked at Robert.
“Seems you have an ability too.”
A faint smile appeared on his face.
“I knew they wouldn't send us after a simple target.”
His smile faded.
“Not that it changes anything.”
The Shadow's expression hardened.
Without warning, the metallic coating covering his body disappeared.All of it—Except his legs.
The iron concentrated around his legs, wrapping them in dense silver metal, He lowered his stance.
Then—He jumped, His legs flexed once.
Twice.
BOOM!
The ground cracked beneath him,His eyes locked onto Robert.
“Let's see how fast you are.”
“Iron Step.”
BOOOOM!
The Shadow burst forward, his body became a blur.
Robert's eyes widened.
At the last possible moment—He twisted his body aside.
WHOOSH!
The Shadow's fist passed inches from Robert's face, he landed several meters away, his feet scraping across the ground.
But he didn't stop.
The iron coating his legs began moving, It traveled upward—Across his waist—Into his shoulder—And finally settled around his hand.
The metal hardened,It stretched along his arm, forming a sharp, slanted blade.
The Shadow looked at Robert.
“Let's see how you reverse this.”
“Iron Blade.”
SWISH!
He disappeared.
His blade-arm tore toward Robert's face.
Robert smiled.
“Sword Intent… Blade Step.”
CLANG!
Robert's sword moved on its own, It rose instantly and intercepted the attack, Sparks exploded between the two blades.
The Shadow's eyes widened,For a brief moment—
He stared at Robert's sword, Then he immediately retreated.
“Iron Step!”
BOOM!
He blasted backward, creating distance between them.
The Shadow landed and stared at Robert.
For the first time—He was genuinely shocked.
"He has developed Weapon Intent at just Silver…"
His eyes narrowed.
"Who exactly is he?"
Before he could think any further—
“Mirage Step.”
WHOOSH!
Kael appeared behind him, his sword was already descending.
“Ripple Slash!”
CLANG!
The first slash collided with the Shadow's blade-arm.Kael immediately abandoned the second strike.
His eyes sharpened.
“Mirage Draw.”
SHING!
His sword instantly returned to its sheath, The Shadow turned—But Kael had already vanished from his line of sight.
A moment later—Kael reappeared behind him.
“Phantom Edge.”
SWISH!
His sword descended toward the Shadow's legs, the Shadow reacted instantly.
The iron coating on his arm vanished, The metal rushed down toward his leg, It hardened just before impact.
CLANGGGGG!
Kael's blade collided with the Shadow's hardened leg, the shockwave pushed Kael backward , he immediately activated—
“Mirage Step!”
WHOOSH!
Kael disappeared and reappeared several meters away.
He steadied himself, his eyes remained fixed on the Shadow.
Then he realized something.
"He can't harden his entire body and attack at the same time."
Kael's eyes narrowed.
When he attacks, the iron concentrates on one part of his body.
He looked at the Shadow's blade-arm.
Then his hardened leg.
A faint smile appeared on Kael's face.
"That means the rest of his body is left unguarded."
