Hunt Race

Chapter 76: The Opening

The wounded Shadow Wolf growled as it stumbled out of the shadows.

Its emerald eyes burned with fury.

It immediately tried to retreat again.

One step.

Two—

Its body emerged once more.

It couldn't remain concealed.

Kael's grip tightened around his sword.

"So that's what First Blood does..."

He didn't have time to think.

The wolf charged.

Without the cover of Silent Veil, its attack was direct.

Kael met it head-on.

Clang!

Their clash echoed through the forest.

For the first time...

The wolf didn't retreat into the shadows.

It couldn't.

Instead, it was forced to circle in the open.

Not far away...

Leon noticed it too.

His eyes flashed.

"It can't hide anymore."

The veteran hunter didn't hesitate.

He immediately abandoned the wolf before him.

His spear shot toward the wounded beast.

The remaining two wolves reacted instantly.

One lunged at Leon.

The other moved to intercept.

They were desperate to protect their injured packmate.

Leon smiled.

"So that's your weakness."

He spun his spear, forcing both wolves back.

The wounded wolf turned to flee.

It aimed for the nearest patch of darkness.

Its body disappeared...

Then reappeared almost immediately with an angry snarl.

Kael was already waiting.

"Ripple Slash."

Shhk!

The first slash opened the wound on its shoulder even further.

The returning slash carved across its chest.

The Shadow Wolf cried out.

It staggered.

Leon didn't waste the opportunity.

His spear thrust forward like lightning.

Thrust!

The spear pierced straight through the wolf's throat.

The beast froze.

Its emerald eyes slowly lost their light.

A dull thud echoed as its body hit the forest floor.

Silence.

For the first time since the battle had begun...

Only two Shadow Wolves remained.

The surviving wolves stared at the fallen body.

A deep growl rumbled from their throats.

Then...

They slowly turned their gaze toward Kael.

Their emerald eyes blazed with killing intent.
