Xero got discharged a day later. His wounds had healed up incredibly fast for a Level 1 and the nurses began to have doubts about his rank.
He got out of the hospital breathing in the fresh air like he had been in captive for years. He smiled lightly and then decided to run down to his dorm. It was roughly 10km.
He dashed out not considering the fact that he had been on the hospital bed for four days and deserved some rest. He didn’t have time for rest. He had to complete each of his quests quite fast. He had kept up his 10km dash on the third day when he woke up.
He ran round his corner severally and that made the nurses think he was really not sick. In fact it was of this reason that they decided to discharge him.
He got to his dorm half an hour later. He stretched his body as he felt his body build up. Then his system chimed in.
[Daily Quest Completed.]
[20 EXP gained]
[260/300 EXP]
"This thing surely does pay off." He said and shrugged. He looked at his watch. It was 11:43. He was late for class so he had to utilise this time properly.
He got into his room and had a quick bath. Then he sat on his bed. He then opened his bag and brought out his parents diary. He didn’t really know why some pages were torn off but he knew that his father hadn’t returned after venturing into the Hunt Portal. He knew that Kenny was hiding something. His eyes had shifted faintly like he was avoiding the truth.
"He knows something and I have to get that out of him but first I will get to the library and gather as much information as I can." Then his mind flashed back to the guy who had attempted to assassinate him.
He didn’t know what he wanted but he could guess that it was a cult operation. Thanks to his system’s bizarre state he was able to ward off Wang.
He sighed lightly. He was still new and now he had to deal with this much trouble. Why would a cult point a target on him in the first place. He was a Lamer. A good for nothing who existed only to be bullied by others.
Or was that the result of the threat of the guy he had clashed at the refectory? He couldn’t tell how but Wang was able to get to him because he had a hand full of information about him. He was able to know that Dennis was his classmate.
He sighed again and looked at the ceiling. If this system could make him stronger he had to get stronger fast and to do thar he had to understand the system.
"System what is the process of leveling up. Ever since I attained you I have only leveled up by daily quest and on the test day when I fought off a few guys."
[You attained a Murdering System as such you are destined to kill. You are to kill opponents and enemies to get stronger. The daily quests are to boost your physical prowess to allow you to grow stronger. The One has given you a destiny.]
"The One? Who the hell is that?" Xero asked in confusion but the system didn’t respond.
He shrugged and felt back to his bed. The system had given him excess information. He could breach past that. But he could take a guess that it was this The One who gave him this system and for some reason he had a destiny to fulfil with it.
He got up from the bed and walked up to the forest. He decided to know why he was taken here by Wang. Probably he was going to find the cult involved.
He approached the University Forest but he noticed that the guards stationed here were thrice the number. Six guards stood by the gate.
The earlier incident had caught the school’s awareness. They had increased the defense patrol around the area. He didn’t know why the area was leaking with security in the first place.
He got to the nearest guard wearing a green uniform and long kitana. He was as huge as the narrative hulk.
"Uhm. Sir I would like to gain access into the Forest." Xero said. The man didn’t even glance at him.
"Off limits. No student allowed into the perimeter." He said like it was a specific phrase given to him all for this purpose.
Xero shrugged and looked inside. He could see a couple of cooperate dressed men walking around the area. They both wore glasses to hid their eyes and they looked to be somewhat like detectives or so.
"But sir I really need to get in." Xero pressed further. The hulk sized guard didn’t respond again.
"What happened there? Are those detectives?" Xero asked. The guard didn’t respond immediately.
"Look kid, something terrible happened in there and the military officials are on it. Getting in there would complicate the matters. No be a good boy and go to class." The man said and resumed his post.
So it was a crime or was is it? What exactly was the crime. No one had died and if there was anything the only thing the school could have considered crime was the fact that they had gotten into the forest without permission.
He couldn’t see why the school would consider anything here a crime. They didn’t seem to care about the death of students. What would they care about if not that. But then he remembered the words of Thicher.
The school did consider killing a crime but that was outside lecture. If a student died during physical training or tests issued by the teacher, it was simply called off.
So this was a crime then. But how did they get to know. Then he remembered that he was brought into the School Hospital. If that was the case then he was a witness. But he didn’t understand why they would discharge their witness without questioning him.
He decided it was wise to leave the area. He couldn’t take the risk of punishment. That might turn out ugly for him. He turned back and headed for the library.

Back in the hospital, Valandi stood with a man with purple blonde hair. He wore a light purple robe and he had a grey staff in his hands.
"Where’s the boy?" He asked and Valandi nodded her head as she looked at him with disappointment.
"The nurses discharged him while I was away. They thought he was ready to go." Valandi said as she could sense rage in his arua.
"I need him." He said harshly. Then he looked at her with pure rage. He wanted to hit her but she caught his arm mid air.
"You are permitted to be angry but don’t you dare try to pull that stunt at me. If you are angry, you know where to invest that rage. Besides I wasn’t the one who ordered a petty boy to fetch him." She said and she three his arm back at him.
He grinned lightly. He didn’t want to put up a fight with a General and besides he wasn’t sure of victory. What he wanted right now was Xero. If he could lay his hands on him, half his problems would be solved.
"Fine. I will get him myself." He retorted and was about walking away before she called him back.
"Wait." She walked up closer. "I don’t need a blood bath again. I will send words to fetch him myself. For now focus on the other requirements."
He nodded lightly. "If you say so but don’t snap this up." He warned and left.
